  • A step-by-step video detailing the installation of the new wooden TE-S sides now available from FocusAttack.com. Personalize your Mad Catz Tournament Edition Fightstick with these custom wooden sides designed to emulate the highly sought after Mad Catz TE-S Fightstick reknown for it's slim & sleek design. These wooden sides were designed by highly respected modders Gummowned and Elis. Check out the video for more details.
**NOTE: There is an additional, small screw near the cord compartment that I failed to mention in the video. Just make sure you double check that you removed all small screws from within the case. Common sense is key! Thanks to @SocialStigma50 on this one!**
You can always paint & finish your wooden sides to further personalize your arcade stick. Check out this tutorial by the ever popular arcade stick modder, Donovan Myers! He shows you how to finish your wooden sides to be smooth & glossy, almost plastic like:

Did you know that MadCatz now sells side panels on their site, now? The original TE side panels and TE-S side panels are available on their Gameshark website in a variety of colors!

@4evil2me Right now you can only get MvC3 sticks, which are actually round 2 sticks with a character swap. You can still find the old TE with white sides every once in a while from sites like amazon though. I just picked up a mvc3 stick for my ps3 so i have TE's for both my systems.

@LowFierce I see. I definitely love the look of the TE-S, so I want to get my Round 1 to look similar to this.

@ryodragoon Yes, this used to be a Mad Catz Round 1 TE stick. It was originally purchased in April 2009 shortly after the release of Street Fighter IV on consoles. The control panel has been modified with a full panel plexiglas but the turbo/guide section, middle screws, and the 7th & 8th button have been removed (read: not cut). This allowed me to replace the stock PCB with a Toodle Multi-Console PCB ("MC Cthulhu") which allows me to use this particular TE stick on different consoles.

@kornstew Seriously? They are rare? I know that they are rare here in Norway, because after they got them in I bought one and a few months later they were gone from the website, but I bought it for $150. What are they making now Round 2 and MvC3 or only MvC3?

@4evil2me You find a TE-S for 149.99 and you let me know cuz i have yet to find any, they are over 200 and up to 300. TE-S sticks are rare.

Is that stick really a Round 1 TE? How do get the top to look like that without that red plastic rectangle. I see the "Turbo" area is gone too.

I do have the sides, but they were white and I painted them matte black.

@kornstew TE-S costs as much as a TE.

does anyone know where to buy the panel that can put a button inside?

Are the wooden panels still for sale? I thought I had to build my own but if they are already for sale I could just grab them. Are they paintable (wood is rough?) ? I would want to paint them a darker brown

rogermorse No - I believe they sold out a long time ago.

Yes I couldn't find anything. Anyway it won't be hard to build with some cutting and sanding, I'll make my own and settle with this stick I have instead of trying to build a whole wooden stick... The wooden sides are really a nice touch

I'd have to paint the sides but otherwise, not a bad alternative to paying for a super obnoxious overpriced te-s
