Be sure to add a comment on an artist you would like to see me cover next for: "Artists You Should Know". I read every comment and I am open to suggestions. If you did not see part 2 to this Albert Bierstadt video, here is the link: ruclips.net/video/Mcq8rN_6eEQ/видео.html If you like other Hudson River School painters, be sure to check out my "Thomas Cole: The Course of Empire" video. ruclips.net/video/qtQXi9sAcZU/видео.html It is a true deep dive, covering aspects I have not seen before in any other video.
Same here. His paintings are magical, nearly (?) over the top dramatic. The composition in combination with light effects and atmospheric perspective are insanely good. Love Bierstadt!
Bierstadt has been a favorite of mine for many decades. I incorporated aspects of his art in one of my paintings, which paid homage to great masters of the past, and Albert appeared as a character in my Historical Novel - A BLAZING GILDED AGE. His art was the pinnacle of landscape painting in his age, and is extremely hard to surpass.
@@MysteriousMrS1 yes I can see why I studied under Thomas Kincaid for about a year he was known as the painter of light but this man how he captured the whole picture with the light in the mist in the water it was just breathtaking thank you I loved it I truly loved it
The lighting , clouds , mountains , trees , the fantasy landscape paintings Albert created was flat out amazing , my Fav. artist of all time ,would like to see the paintings that got destroyed in the fire
Thank you Annie! He's one of my favorites as well. Be sure to check out the other videos on my channel. I will be uploading a couple more in the next few weeks.
@@MysteriousMrS1 I can send you a photo if you wish. It features two small terrier dogs doing ratting in a cellar. I researched it. The canvas is from London and has the business address and date. I think the Jubilee was an occasion for a get together with his old German naturalist friends of his younger years.
There are many books with images of his paintings, but if you want a deep-dive into Albert Bierstadt as a person as well as images of his paintings, I recommend, "Albert Bierstadt: Witness to a Changing West" by, Peter H. Hassrick
No question about it. Such magnificent artistry, but lost his wife, lost his home, lost his studio. It also makes me reflect on how short life is and how things constantly change.

Sorry, just my lovely voice... I'm not your father.
I have a small painting he did during Queen Victoria's jubilee while he was in Britain.
That is amazing! I would love to see an image.

German painter🇩🇪❤️
Yes. He's amazing!
Fue el primer Bob Rosa…..
Manque une traduction dommage !
Lo siento, estoy de acuerdo, las traducciones serían ideales. Pronto agregaré subtítulos a mis videos.
Wasnt he german?
Yes, he was born in Germany, but grew up in America and became a famous artist working out of his New York studio.
His story makes me sad for a
Some reason.
No question about it. Such magnificent artistry, but lost his wife, lost his home, lost his studio. It also makes me reflect on how short life is and how things constantly change.
I was thinking and thinking , and then i realised , i lost my home when my mother died , so something in me resonates withthat.
Thanks for your perspective. You might also be interested in my video on Bierstadt's Hudson River School contemporary, Thomas Cole.
I will check it out 😃
