I have been binging on your faceting/fossicking videos every evening/weekend for a few weeks now, starting with your oldest posts and working towards the present, giving the thumbs up on every one of them. Love your videos, topics, music, amusing plots, production (and production assistant, Jaws!), and is why I keep coming back for more every day!
Thank YOU Cliff for all you're doing. I had always thought faceting was "out of my league", but with your videos I have learned a TON of great information on faceting, as well as the properties of the gems that you facet along with your hints and tips on working with them.
As a cabber, not a faceter (yet), I only dream of having a machine such as yours (maybe some day!), but faceting is now definitely in my plans for the future, and I hope to see it happen. At least with your videos I can now more easily understand what is being done on your machine, and why, to produce the beautiful gems you turn out. Bravo!!

I love watching your videos. I learn a lot by doing so. I am a brand new faceter and I am on my 4th stone. One of the things I love about your videos is that I can hear you. You dont have a strong loud distracting music competing for your voice. I watch all your videos. Thank you to you and Jaws. She is precious. My side kick is Jackson.
Other gem cutting videos that play incredibly loud music I mute but then I run the risk of missing something important from the faceter if they are sharing commentary. Thank you for not being that kind of faceter. Much appreciation for sharing your work.

Thanks Tam. Well done on getting up to faceting you 4th gem. Your creating works of art that most people can only dream of. Well done. It's a fine line to what you can add in terms of music. RUclips have made it very restrictive in terms of copyright. This is fair as artists do deserve royalties for their work. Hello to Jackson......

I'm with you about zircon. It's a beautiful gemstone, and sadly underrated. You're fiercely lucky to live in a country where you can source this gem directly. Get loads while the market is down :D
Have you any plans to join the Australia gem and mineral show this year? I'd love to see you get your handiwork appraised, amateur hobbyist or not. Your work is simply beautiful, and needs to be appreciated more widely.
I looked into your theories about girdle polishing, and I agree that it definitely gives the stone a much more complete and professional look . Rest assured that I won't be buying any stone, no matter the cut or type, without seeing that girdle polish. :D
Trolls.. man I have to take my hat off to your solution. LOL It's the perfect way to handle them. Especially like the train clip. LOL

I recently won a bronze medal in a open Australian competition. I was encouraged by a member in my gem club to submit one of my gems, he sent it off for me as I not the type to really bother. I thought 3rd place was not bad considering I was making a RUclips video of the gem at the time, and your competing against seasoned facetors that only facet for comps. Usually as a rule don't do comps as it does take away the "FUN FACTOR" and most of these competition gem cutters are obsessed. I believe to be a great gem cutter is enjoy your art, experiment and try as many designs as you can, and try faceting a huge variety of different gems. Most of the competition facetors spend a entire lifetime faceting the same material and often the same design. It's like playing the same 3 chords on a guitar your entire life ( who wants to do that?)....I do go to Australian gem and mineral shows to buy gems and have a chat with people. My bucket list is the Tuscon Gem Show...Not sure if I will ever see it, but I hope to. Cheers

Awesome gemstone! I am a beginner facetor from California, and I was just wondering what you use to polish quartz and beryl. It has been hard for me to figure out what to use, and I keep getting scratches on my stones. Right now, I am going from 600 grit for cutting, 600 grit lightning lap, and one of those blue ultralaps. Is there anything else that I should buy? I am 14, so I kinda have a tight budget. Thank you and great work! :)

Hi I have been watching various gem faceting channels for a while and really your work is hands down the best. I wonder if you can recommend a functional faceting setup for beginners, which wouldn't cost thousands of dollars. I have seen several "if you want to start" videos which then recommend $10,000+ setups. I understand the equipment is specialized and precision crafted... are there options for the person who wants to see if this is for them? (Actually I am just looking at your videos on faceting equipment now. So I guess the question is, do you have anything to add to those?)
