- I went out with Captain Camden Faria for a sunrise fishing send in Cape Cod. The plan was to hit Striped Bass at first light, and then kick it over to another area for Black Sea Bass. We were pleasantly surprised to find fish EVERYWHERE, but they were extremely picky and only were willing to hit a very specific presentation...

Went out with Capt. Cam the week of the Fourth and he absolutely crushed it. Left out of Bass River, went up the coast, fished the rips with top-water at the absolute crack of dawn. It was fan-frikken-tastic. Cam is beast and Michael is a world-travelled scholar and Fish Philosopher.
This method is also really useful at the canal. If the fish aren't biting, try sinking a jig to the bottom and just straight retrieve it trying to keep it about 20 feet from the shoreline against the current as long as possible. The fish will sit behind the rocks on the side similar to the bottom but they are more actively feeding. IDK why, but when the jig/swim bait comes into view from behind them, you get more reactionary strikes than drifting it in front of them. It's like they think "how did I miss that one, grab it quick" lol

Hey I NEED you to go to the Swift River in Belchertown, MA and check out the trout! 😭 they’re HUGE and you can clearly see them cause the water is so beautiful, but they WON’T BITE! It’s so frustrating it’s like they went to MIT. Maybe there’s something you can do about these trout cause idk what to do! That’s my challenge video for you 😂

Edit-Tell me your catfish baits if you want
Just use a carolina rig with a three way swivel, put a couple ounces on a snap on one of the two swivels and put an offset circle hook with a leader onto the other. For bait I prefer just to catch and cut up some panfish and that usually works for bigger catfish, but you can also use stinkbaits for a lot of average sized cats.
Man now I wish I never sold my boat and gear.

How do you catch black sea bass?
You can use GULP! on a bucktail or some squid/clam on the bottom. Metal baits like spoons as well as epoxy jigs work too.
