I understand that the video was about watching a live feed while you're fishing. But when this video was about to download for me, it made it look like it was an actual RUclips live video. It started at a certain amount of time ticking down until it was supposed to start, I even got a notification stating that it was going to start. And it's not like I don't have anything better to do here, but I've been on disability for the past 5 years, I live to see these things come up. This changes my understanding of how fish operate. I always assumed fish would take real bait immediately but they nibbled or would straight up swim by.
I dont know about this one man, for me personally, the fun in fishing is in the mystery behind it. I enjoy not knowing what’s down there and I enjoy being surprised when something bites. this takes away from that. This is definitely a cool product though.
This is really interesting. Especially for someone like me that loves fishing but lacks patience. Looking at the sea floor live and the fishes swimming around will be entertaining. But, the line is my biggest fear. Electrical wires are not meant to be moved in different shapes, let alone coil it and uncoil it. It would be much better if it was an optical cable. And what if the line gets stuck and you are not able to unstuck it, what happenes then?
Will this work off the oily coast? Typically fish Galveston down to Corpus Christi. The waters here in TX are a shade of diarrhea green w/ hint of tar ball.
Might be a personal problem, but placement of the router would be a problem for me fighting a fish. That's a leverage point where I will place my hand during a fight with a larger fish. What do you estimate the cost of one of these units will be? What test will the line be available in?
It’s like us I’ve fishing way up north , it would only work in clear water , otherwise try using this in murky water or dark water , you can’t see anything , lucky to see a foot in front of the camera .
We always run 30 lb or lighter leader line so that if you get hung up, you can break off at the leader. That’s what we did here - broke off the leader (after waiting a while for the groupers to come out from under the rocks, which they never did) so the cameras were recovered.
@@reelviewfishing Great engineering! I would be a little worried about long casting that expensive and heavy looking camera in a lake and getting it caught under a rock. Maybe you have fixed that issue.
I dont understand how some new companies try to sell thier products. Like they have a whole website telling you about how awesome it is, how it comes with a year warrenty, but there is no way to buy it, information about when it will be available, or how much it will cost. Wtf?
Can you do trolling with this setup? How much line between the camera and the leader? Does everything transmit data or only the part between the camera and the rod?
Okay so I put in the deposit but the asking price even with the preorder discount is still too much. I would expect that even if there is a live feed, losing the camera would eventually be inevitable depending on the fishing activity, so with a certain degree of disposability in mind OR throwing in a discounted second camera, perhaps for the purpose of being able to locate the lost one and retrieve it with a magnet or hook, then maybe I’d be more willing as a regular consumer to pay. Initial investment with the rod, reel, and line for the expected “discounted” price of $999 is probably just okay. I don’t think I can imagine paying close to $1600 or so on the set up. Even flying drones are much more accessible than that. The price should be comparable considering the image quality is limited and the camera just dangles.
I fear this will one day become illegal. It’s a cool idea. It’s slightly cheating though but at the same time now I know whenever I decide to finally start fishing saltwater. If I catch a grouper, get it off the bottom as fast as possible.
While I understand your thought on it, I am hesitant to think that. I say hesitant because it is illegal in both the US and Canada to use a drone to spot or scout for waterfowl, and in many states it is even illegal to use a drone to try and locate and recover a downed deer. It you have ever seen a scope boat and the sonar they use for chasing BIG money saltwater game fish for tournaments you would see that those rigs are actually more “cheating” than this camera. Those scope boats can pick out a single Marlin based on size and only chase after that specific fish. Those boats are less sporting than any other tech out there.
Where is that at, if you don't mind my asking? Also what rod and reel is that? I've seen so many people with similar rods and Im planning on buying one.
