Thats actually crazy, I’ve never seen the full process of catching such a unit of a fish. Those fish are absolutely massive, they’re the type you would expect to catch while harpoon fishing, not rod and reel fishing. The drama (for lack of other words) is also pretty wild, but it is a shame that the intruding boat never listened until he realized what he was doing. Also, why didn’t you use that pink net that he threw at 19:51 instead of that rope? I feel like there were better options, that net looked sturdy af. Love the video though, we need more tuna videos like this one.
Him saying he hooked a shark on one of his lines reminded me of something I learned in science class the other day. Magnetic elements are shown to (somewhat) shock a shark, repelling it. People have made magnetic hooks to avoid catching sharks, while still catching all other fish with no difference.
It's easy to take a short out of context. You can see in the full video the situation and how it unfolded. It's easy to judge but in the heat of the moment and your weeks wage is on the end of the line weather your paying your bills or not it's very intense situation. Totally understandable reaction. I've always wondered what it's like to be a commercial fisherman. and seeing what the other guys did on that boat and kind of just running over the line it's just jaw-dropping that people have the nerve to do that even though they can see you fishing.
I caught my first handful of Tuna last year and what a rush of a feeling. My biggest was about 80lbs and smallest 45lbs and those were brutal on my body physically. I fought one for about 45 min without tapping out and letting my friend finish it off. Learned a lot during my trip. Biggest one was when the boat rocks down reel and pull up and the boat rocks up. Keep pumping and be patient.
Hi @Tackle2thePeople, I've been subscribed for a while, and I've learned so much more about how to rig or work different baits. After watching the Blade Bait video, I went out and bought a few. I've caught so many decent fish on them. I snapped my line on a nice pike, sadly, but I still have more of them. Love all your videos. Keep fishing. 😁🎣
I can clearly see from the comments some of you have never shore fished, let alone catch an almost 400lbs tuna from a boat. One has to be careful, precise, and so many things could go wrong. Anyone out there in a boat has to have what is called “SITUATIONAL AWARENESS! The other guy could have come across someone drowning and never be aware of it because he was just dead and insensitive to his surroundings. It doesn’t matter if the boat with the tuna was in the right or wrong. Once you notice someone throwing their arms and yelling, it should immediately alert you, to know something is wrong; the person is in a situation they don’t have full control of and are calling for your attention. To be totally oblivious the way the other boat was, was just against everything a good captain should be. We should be thankful all the guy did was yell.
its pretty obvious what was really happening. the guy knew they were on with a fish, and wanted to muscle in and catch some too. probably didn't know it was a tuna or that he was over their line, but it was clear he wanted to fish in the same area because he knew they were catching fish there. reminds of when you're fishing from the bank and a guy with a boat pulls up and casts right in front of you.
I think Cam handled himself very well. There’s been a lot of people who will follow someone back to the dock and fight over cutting someone off a fish. There is a code of conduct out there fishing that you follow and it’s mostly common sense and common decency. He handled himself very well for a situation. Having a tuna on the line on its own is very stressful, add someone about to cut you off the fish it’s 10x’s as stressful
Let me be the smart one here, I would have word spread out amongst fishermen that when you have a big fish on you send up a certain color flag high up a pole that tells other boaters to stay away FISH ON !

This black frog is the most succulent onyx and lemon color, which would be perfect for the activity of sport fishing a particular species, or multiple species, but I would look to use this synthetic lure/bait to attempt to catch a certain creature that habitats places in North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The Micropterus Salmoides, part of the Centrarchidae family is the particular creature I have been speaking about. This is a type of fish, most commonly known as a largemouth bass. The largemouth bass is a desirable sport fish because of it's beautiful and bright colors of mint, teal, black, and many more depending on where the creature lives. Another reason why these are a desirable sport fish is because they consume other creatures and are the apex-predator in many freshwater ecosystems. My final reason why these fish are a desirable sport fish are because they are very aggressive and will attempt to consume an artificial lure/bait. In conclusion, I would like to win this frog because I hypothesize that the succulent onyx and lemon color of the frog will trigger the predator senses in the fishes' mind which will trigger them to consume the frog, and also because of the atomic composition of the frog which I assume to be mostly silicon which is not and ion nor an isotope of the original atom, which is a sign of a long lasting lure/bait. 🎣
I wouldn’t call the reaction justified- but it makes sense, someone pointed out already in comments that it’s like losing smth that would pay your rent for the month- it’s a truly obscene amount of money to be lost on accident

Channel 16 or 09 is what you should have used. 16 designated for hailing, 09 is recreational.
