Fantastic, amazing, so glad I found you, was going thru hell making this till now. Am going to practice this over and over til I can do it in mysleep. Can't thank you enough!
I just made a practice star and followed your directions to a T. The star turned out so perfect I'm now doing a second and it is perfect also. Your directions are so easy to follow. I have a book of your patterns but they looked to advanced for me. Well I don't feel that way anymore. I feel ready to tackle one of your patterns now. Plus I have to figure out what to make with these perfect stars!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Fantastic tutorial. Especially useful to know how to cut the diamonds with basic rulers most of us already have and not have to buy yet another "special" ruler. Microtex needles are great too. So much good info in this lesson.
Wow, such a brilliant tutorial. Edyta simply shines with all of her techniques and details.... and its the little details that make a difficult block become achievable. Thank you!
Hi my name is Nettie I am really just in awe of how easy you make this you are so very CLEAR and slow enough for me to follow you instruction on how to assemble this block thankyou I'm so excited an confident I can do this thankyou so very much for your tutorial I have all my pieces cut an laid out an ready to sew together you are amazing Edyta Sitar 🙂
Oh my goodness! This is such a great tutorial. I have basic sewing skills and have only previously sewn basic patchwork squares together. Following this tutorial, I managed to cut fabric pieces, sew the star and attach some of the triangles during my toddlers nap time. It's looking great so far with all the pieces aligning very nicely.
Brilliant instruction and step by step process! I was so frustrated trying to set in the corners and triangles untilI watched this....thank you so much!!
Also, for beginners like me who don't have all the correct rulers, if you add one inch to the top and bottom, mark them and cut at a 45 degree, it works fabulous! Thanks! Its beautiful! I can't wait to finish my star! After I finish my practice star, I am going to add stars to the quilt I am making for my bed! Thanks again!
I just love Edyta. She explains so carefully. I was having a lot of ah moments. Now I can't wait to try what she showed us. This should also help her sell her books and etc. Big Hugs Edyta. Thanks for all of your tutorials.
I am a very new quilter, in fact, I have yet to make my first real block! I have been watching so many videos to learn everything I can. I have never seen anyone to do this method and I am so glad I found this! it simplified it so well and now, I have no fear of trying this!! Thank you!
I just tried this because the instructions were so great. My block came out perfect and was the exact size it was supposed to be. Thanks to both Edyta and Kimberly for posting this. I'll never do "cheater" star blocks again. I can do a "Y Seam". :-)
Edyta, beautiful instructions! Now, I am not going to be afraid to use "Y" seams. You made it so so simple ... Step by step ... cut, angle, direction of sewing, laying directions of seam allowance and pressing only the back side. This is my first time watching your tutorial, but, I will be looking forward to seeing more.
Edyta is amazing! You make everything seem so straightforward just by following the method with attention. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques.
Kimberly always offers such great learning videos. With quilters like Lori Holt and Edyta Sitar, it is always so interesting and challenging, which I need.
Thank you for the video. I have been afraid to try a diamond with those Y seams. You're method is very helpful. Thank you for sharing your techniques! You star quilts are beautiful!
I am fairly new to quilting but have sewn all my life. I love this star and tutorial. It is patience, patience, and patience and it will turn out perfect. Thank you both for a great tutorial. Excited to make one.
First time to see this tutorial. I am amazed how simple and simply beautiful you have made this. When an instructor explains why you do each thing, it is remembered as well as understood. I have the feeling I will play this video over and over again. There is so much to remember, but I want to make sure I do not forget even one single instruction. Thank-you for spending your time with us and sharing your wonderful talent. Can't wait to watch the next tutorial.
Learning something new everyday, I've done this block but in a different way of cutting and piecing. This is so simple and clear, thanks for the tutorial.
I am so grateful to have found this tutorial! I have been struggling all week to make an 8-pointed star in the traditional way and was ready to give up and use one of the methods that does not use set-in seams. My first block using this method turned out worlds better than anything I have made using the traditional method. Thank you so much!
You are a very talented lady ! I really like this video and I love her kind soft spirit ! Wow some awesome tips on sewing bias edges ! This is explaining where and what causes the issues of sewing harder complex seams !
