Thank you Donna, for this tutorial. Once upon a time I saw this quilt style in someone’s home and was delighted to learn that she made it herself. I paid her $400 to make one for me. I was always very intimidated by quilting. When my daughters were a seven and eight, I enrolled them in a quilting for children’s class. The instructor was gracious enough to allow me to be a student if I helped reinforce her instruction in the work room. I was so grateful to her for this newfound skill. However, I remained intimidated by the Lonestar. Your tutorial, however, remedied this fear, and I am so ready now. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.❤

I love seeing your industrial machine and hearing it stitch. Until 2014, I had a Bernina950 and I loved it but sold it to a woman in Mineral Wells, Texas since she needed one to make horse blankets. I no longer was making the flags for which I bought it, so I didn't really need it. However, I wish I still had it when I see you use yours. Thanks for great videos.

I am making a quilt for all my grands (5). Also, my two daughters & sister make a total of 8.
I have finished only 4, I don’t have a lot of time to sew.
My oldest grandson wants the lone star on a black background like yours. I have my fabric, and pattern & I am anxious to start. Thank you for your tutorials, you have taught me so much. I have sown for years, but never quilt-making.
    You are a great teacher.

My grandmother made a lot of quilts, and when she passed away there were boxes of quilt tops that were never made into quilts. For Christmas I received one of these tops and it was the Lone Star pattern. I'm estimating the quilt top itself is 40 years old. I was going to make small Lonestar blocks to sew together to make my own quilt. But now I am to try your pattern to make a quilt. My grandmother's was 84 in by 84 in just the star. Thank you for the free pattern, it is just the size that I wanted to make.

Donna you hit this one out of the park‼️ It’s fantastic and the black background makes the colors pop beautifully! The turquoise binding also makes the quilting design compliment the total quilt. Thank you so much for this video! My Grandma made a star quilt like this except she did rows like you did in the middle all the same around with each color instead of "scrapy". Was my childhood favorite. She died before I was born so she couldn't teach me how to make it and my Aunt never learned how to sew. It is worn enough I don't want to risk completely destroy it, and I have been looking for quite a few years now to find a tutorial!! Your is amazing! You even answered what I was worried about and that is the Y seam! I am still a beginner so I will have to probably build up to thing but I am so happy to have found this! Thank you!

This quilt pattern was what got me interested in quilting and never having made any quilt before I blithely bought fabrics and tried to follow the pattern I had. What a disaster!!! It almost made me quit thinking about quilting. But a friend who I didn't know was a quilter, straightened me out and got me started a basic simple quilt and I have never looked back. But this tutorial has inspired me to try the Lone Star Pattern again and I think with your pattern & tutorial I should be OK. Can't wait to start!! Thank you SO MUCH!!!

I've been watching your videos. I figured out that I'm a visual learner lol Now, been teaching myself how to quilt. Have made like 3 or 4 quilts, had one that I made a Pinwheel quilt. Now, I know why I was having such issues!! I Majorly Messed Up!! Oh Lords Yes, of course it was on the bias. Yes, you guessed correctly I Ironed my Squares. Instead of *Pressing* LOL Now, the "Lone Star Quilt" you did, Absolutely Amazing!!! You've explained everything perfectly!! I feel confident enough to where I can make this ONE!! Might do it in lighter colors or one color in various shades with a Dark Grey background. I'll send you photos when I get it made
    Thank You Very Much!!

Also have a new grandbaby coming in September and now know what I want to make for a nice crib quilt. So easy compared to the old Texas star I made years ago that has never layed flat in the center. Wow again and thank you.

Love this and you make it so easy. I will admit the seam ripper has been used a lot (I am at the point of sewing the 8 large diamonds together) and I did use a jelly roll from my stash as I wanted to get started. I just placed an order as I appreciate your tutorials and I got several more jelly rolls and several charm squares. As a practicing RN I am liking the convenience of pre-cuts and the distraction of this challenging (too me) project. Easy to navigate website. I will get yardage next order. Thanks!

I think I'd add about 2" or 3" of the black background to the sides, and maybe between the star and border, just to let that diamond-star centre really shine. You're right, the long-arm quilting really adds texture. Thanks also for including instructions on how to enlarge this quilt. I am definitely adding this one to my "Quilts to Make" list !! I loved the entire process because you were at.the helm ensuring a calm, steady, and progressive passage taking us forward on what seems almost magically from piece to product. YOU, Dear Courageous and Creative Donna are a STAR QUILTER in every sense! What an absolutely gorgeous and colorfully brilliant work of art and love. Thank you for the fun, inspiring, and reproducible lesson. Kudos to all the designers and artisans involved in this collaborative journey. 👏💖🥇

This quilt is so beautiful I love to watch your videos you make things look doable to even us newbies. you sew with such confidence and expertise which I hope to be able to do someday. I watch all your videos and love it when you give us tips on doing the quilts.

I love watching your videos more than sewing the quilts- that is going to change as I gather my ideas and develop technique (thanks to your clear explanations and great videography)! I am a beginner and am inspired by the way you intermix your step by step demonstrations with tips. I wish I had more beds and walls. Meanwhile, I am going to start with American Girl quilts for the two six year olds in my life. This will probably interest them in quilting, too.

I freaking LOVE THIS❤️ It’s a tad advanced, but I think I can do if I follow you in the video. I’m so excited to try this. The Black really makes the rainbow coloring Pop so well.

Your explanations of how the grain affects the outcome was soooooo helpful. It makes attempting to make a Lonestar quilt now in my wheelhouse!

Oh my gosh, this is completely AMAZING!! (As are all of Donna’s tutorials!) I tried to make a Lone Star quilt many, many years ago and the center turned out like a piece of fried bologna!! 😂 Now I feel that I can do this! Thank you, Jordan Fabrics!!
