Studies do suggest some negative long term effects from deeper diving.. but the most common health issue i would say is hearing loss. The things that are most dangerous are the immediate ones such as DCS and AGE’s.
@@racingfan8175 I think I have heard it is easier to teach a diver to weld than a welder to dive, but I may have that backwards....Jody at Welding Tips and Tricks has an hour podcast with a Diver Welder that is also great to listen to....
This is one thing I would love to do. I love welding and I am good at it. I worked in a shipyard in PA. Snh, I loved it but the yard was awful. It sucked. But I loved it.
What a cool video brotha. Awesome content thanks for showing us the journey. I own a power wash & lawn care company here in st louis MO area and just recently got a Hobart flux core machine for small repairs and stuff. Should have got one a long time ago after I took a welding class in college 12 years ago lol oh well glad I do now. Fun stuff
Good content bro I remember always hearing about this but never knowing how it was done ima start doing some loader videos I work in a rock crusher mine you kind of just inspired me cause people are interested in all kinds of work so pretty cool dude blessings to you!
Hey man! I am currently in school for welding then off to diving school. Any chance you could tell me how long youve been welding before you started under water welding?
You need to be at least 18 and if you want to work offshore you should probably be under 40, the younger the better. Inland diving is a little different but still better to be younger than older.
What was your employment history before you went to welding school? Because if it didn’t involve anything in the construction field just go weld for a while. Get in with a marine construction company.
Damn bro this video look legit ! keep up the great content And props of the editing 👍 This looks like it could be on the discovery or travel channel haha good job!
If you're a freelance diver-for-hire are you responsible for your health insurance? If something happened to you underwater seems to me it'd be easy for an insurance company to deny coverage if they can find a way to blame you for it.
Always remember to repent of your sins (sin is transgression of YAHUAH’S LAW: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy) And Have Belief On YAHUSHA HAMASHYACH. HE Died and Rose three days later so that you can be forgiven of your sins! HE Loves you! Come to HIM!🙂🙂🙂🙂
I am 53 and the instructor no divers dont die off at a young age. Many divers make their money when younger then go into supervising, consulting or kick it on the beach some place. Its not life expectancy its dive expectancy that seems shorter.
@@richardjohnston2904 Probably tacking decking on a Walmart working non union in Arizona . I don’t know how many victims I’ve met in 35 years as a ironworker that paid for that course and never worked as a underwater welder . But I know you gotta sell the course I got it .
@@markjamison9677 I agree with you many people go to dive school but dont stay with it. Various reasons ranging from they dont like living in south La. spouse doesn't like hubby being gone for 6-9 months put of the year, they got scared, or simply dont want to pay their dues. I'm a 3rd generation diver and know lots of guys who made great livings out of it. Takes a special breed of person definitely not for everyone
Been a diver for over a decade. Any questions feel free to ask!
Ask my guy anything y’all wanna know
I’ll have another video out Wednesday also asking a diver a few questions
Any long term effects from underwater welding (excessive pressure on the body for long duration, etc).

How many years of welding do you need to have before you can start doing underwater welding?

This is one of the coolest most diverse welding video I’ve ever seen! Probably my favorite I’ve watched in my 25 years.
thanks for the feedback 💯
us new gens coming through respectfully man cant wait to contribute some welding knowledge i love welding and ive only just started haha
Outstanding......really enjoyed this.....at 3:20 he says negative runs to knife switch, reverse polarity, I think he meant straight polarity...
Negative to knife switch, knife switch to stinger, then positive to ground.
You’re right
You’re right! DCEN Is STRAIGHT POLARITY!
I’ll take the job now!🔥⚡️💥
Remember, it’s always easier to teach a welder how to dive than vice versa!
Your channel is about to blow up carnal, good content homie
So glad to see this video done at Ocean Corp. Currently saving towards that tuition and man! It is expensive for international students
That’s cool man. That was a great video.🤙🏼

Hell yea gang gang. I subscribed so I don't miss nothing. Good shit 👏
whole lotta gang shit
Always looking forward to your vids brother keep it up 💯
I appreciate that
wanted to make a correction if that ok. so the positive to ground is straight polarity not reverse.

Is this in Houston ?
What kind of motion is used for underwater welding? Is there any manipulation at all, I would assume it’s just a simple drag or very small whips.
@ Keenan Neal
Drag/self consume
Appreciate the effort you put into this video brother
Awesome video man always wondered how the process worked
yeah man it was a very dope experience
I dont even know n im proud of u brotha
💯
Good shit bro keep it going
thanks for the feedback!
Dope bro!
Thanks homie
That underwater welding!
It was dope!
Positive ground is straight polarity on land. Just saying
Mijo me haces muy orgulloso
You did ok👍. Are you certified now for underwater?
Badass bro!
how different do these rods run underwater compared to 7018 ?
Te pasaste de lanza con el vídeo Rico. Esta con madres wei.

Nice video thanks
Wow, cool video, some new experience)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey man! I am currently in school for welding then off to diving school. Any chance you could tell me how long youve been welding before you started under water welding?
Wet welding is honestly not that common. Many divers go their whole careers without ever picking up a stinger.
Great content!
thanks man
Keep it bro #weldlife
Badass wei this is so badass
Cinco ! Yeah man dope I wanna try going a lil deeper next time
Nice bro!!
Thanks 🔥
that was pretty awesome bro
it was a dope experience man!
the course too expensive for me 🥺
My heart got broken decided to chase my goals and pursue underwater welding let’s go boys!
Would you accept someone in there mid 50's for training, and starting A career change? Thanks
Keep yo the work 🔥
🤟🏼
Nice videos bro thank you for the motivation 🦾
🙏🏼
Sick!!!!

you said AC current then went on to say +to stinger on ac it dosent matter
Seen u on 1-10 beautiful rig
i need to fix those dents lol
@@TheWeldLab You ever seen a fat chicks thigh that says shes thick but it looks like its got truck dents? lmao
Is there an age restriction on becoming an underwater weldor?
You need to be at least 18 and if you want to work offshore you should probably be under 40, the younger the better. Inland diving is a little different but still better to be younger than older.
Yeah definitely, even for inland. As you know you don’t have to be an Olympic athlete but starting that late one would struggle.
How do I become an underwater welder? Currently in school to become a welder
What was your employment history before you went to welding school? Because if it didn’t involve anything in the construction field just go weld for a while. Get in with a marine construction company.
The ocean Corp teaches you everything you need to know no experience necessary. Many of our students are right out of high school

Its straight polarity, not reverse polarity

I heard under water welders don’t live very long they pass away at 50 most of the time
Or 35 something like that
Absolutely no truth to that.
i asked him that question the anwer will be in the next video
depends if you do deep deep dive everyday
I am 53 and the instructor no divers dont die off at a young age. Many divers make their money when younger then go into supervising, consulting or kick it on the beach some place. Its not life expectancy its dive expectancy that seems shorter.
