Usually i like the 6013 only for tacks,for the weld itself i LOVE the 7018 !

Not like it used to be haha, now everything has dry socks and stuff. Even for bridge repair they drop in tubes and stuff to dry dock that.

You may find the electrodes easier to start if you dip the tips in poly varnish then in to Graphite powder then dry them before immersion.
