    Ive been a commercial diver for almost 21 years , 10 of which are as a sat diver just a friendly tip if this is a career you want make sure your school is imca reconized and not just adc, you will have so much trouble finding work state side as a diver also make sure your a full diver what i mean is get cert in NDT, Welding, Hyperbaric chamber op. , no school will tell you this. Also as a IMCA DIVER your chances of going out and getting a job are much higher... good vid bro and theres so much more to weld out there than zincs

Unfortunately due to many unforeseen circumstances I was unable to pursue my dreams of being a welder and had to quit before I got to gain more experience but I still love it! Once you get the hang of it you find ways to position your hat so the bubbles don't get in your view. The lower you get under weld if possible the better you can see back of puddle. Starts to be all feel after a while. Gonna maybe be alot less visibility out of that training tank though. My experience visibility is very poor most of the time. Great video! • @ethan....
      @ethan.... 2 года назад +2

      @@ferret9263 Quenching is okay when you're just running a pad of beads, but for actual structural integrity on a joint that is going to be critical, quenching is a no-go.
      Knives are quenched to increase hardness, this is good, because a knife needs edge retention, and hardness provides that. However, quenching a weld joint is bad. This is because hardened steel is also more brittle which means it is also weaker.
      Quenching for knives = good, Quenching for welds = bad. It is acceptable on a learning platform though, because you get more hood time.
