Soy d CT y me gustaría tomar ese curso
hi am interested
Ive been a commercial diver for almost 21 years , 10 of which are as a sat diver just a friendly tip if this is a career you want make sure your school is imca reconized and not just adc, you will have so much trouble finding work state side as a diver also make sure your a full diver what i mean is get cert in NDT, Welding, Hyperbaric chamber op. , no school will tell you this. Also as a IMCA DIVER your chances of going out and getting a job are much higher... good vid bro and theres so much more to weld out there than zincs
Im 28 and thinking about becoming a commercial diver, do you think its too late to start?
@@Crosswizz
You married?
Got kids?
Got a mortgage?
@@Crosswizz2 years later... have you done it?
@@lipt4040 yes my friend, have been diving for 1.5 years now best decision I've ever made
@@Crosswizz 😎😎😎
water and electricity were always good friends
I remember when I found out that it's possible to weld under water I couldn't believe it
same here iam also thinking about it how its possible
. forget to include fire and wind , haha
I remember when I found out welding used electricity and not fire.
Bro do you understand how much water there is to spread all that energy around? If you drop a toaster in a bathtub you're a gonner, in a lake? Not so much
That’s me right now 😂😂
Couldn't pay me all the money in the world to get in the ocean. Mad respect for anyone doing this
Love this! I come from a family where most of the men are welders, my dad included, and I started to learn and do my own welding. Unfortunately due to many unforeseen circumstances I was unable to pursue my dreams of being a welder and had to quit before I got to gain more experience but I still love it! I actually have eye problems and hearing loss from spending too much time as a kid in the garage watching my dad and cousins do all sorts of work. 😅
that's cool! sorry you weren't able to pursue it the way you wanted, hope your life has worked out in other ways!
Good job man , you threw it down not scared ,to try new things.👍👍👍

I want to ask a question, can anyone help me? I want to work in commercial diving welding, what should I do?
I've always thought that underwater welding was fascinating. Good video, I wouldn't have minded a longer one.
This was a tale from somewhere years ago so when I was going to take welding that turned into a GED a false alarm was set by like a five year kicking a screaming now alot of guys was being released that I worked at this time u understand I was military to serve at this time.
I'm a retired welder done it over 30 plus years , never done underwater always wanted to , the one thing ive learned take care of your health thats the number one key to anything.....
1:43 he said you go in slowly but the guy in the back jumped right in lol
SicariusJack I think for welders who are beginners in diving go in slowly.
Nathanael Addison yeah I’m pretty sure that’s the case I just found it funny after he said that the dude just jumped in
That guy must be having so much fun
You control your descent once in the water. It doesn't matter much if you jump in or go down a latter, it is how quickly or slowly you descend once in the water that matter.
Lmao
Really hope that tv show comes out! This channel is such a blessing to the welding community
My cousin did this for 15 years.. he could never tell us where he was going out who he was working for, he would just up n leave and be gone for 6 months then just show back up with stacks of cash.. lol . He said he made enough to be able to work only 6 months and then take 6 months off if he wanted to. So so yeah you can make Bank doing this... My guess mostly for oil companies. 😁👍
Is that real that he is making lot of money
@@nothingheretowatch7371 in my area, there's only around 3 companies that do underwater welding. Guys make about 110.00 per hour
@@nothingheretowatch7371 my cousin retired from that several years ago. I learned to weld because of him. Saw his dive equipment, watched him buy "toys" that were $$$$. Like I said he was unable to say where he went or who he worked for , but being able to spend 6 months at home and still pay his mortgage says a lot😁👍
@@nothingheretowatch7371 I've heard companies telling guys to just name their price to come and do it.
My understanding was you could only do 3 months a year underwater work
Good video i always wanted to learn under water welding its really cool to see we have the technology to make videos like this one i always wondered how the puddle would look under water kind of what i expected
This type of job is high risks high rewards. I salute all people in this trade.
Looks like fun you didnt find nemo while you were welding be safe and awesome vid
You guys just took the youtube welding videos to another level!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the video, going to start too study welding, and interested in underwater welding.
How’s it going?
Now that's the stuff, WeldTube! I love this kind of video.
Great video Abraham, good on you bro trying new things and shearing. Great job team
"When you go underwater, you go there slowly". While another guy just jumps straight in behind him :D
Looks awsome here in europe we have NYD diving school probably going to go in it in next 2 years for now i am just scuba diving
Hullo I love the energy

Dat was dope.... Please do more of this.... ... Do more colabs with them pls!!!!!
One of my life's best decisions was to attend TOC in 1994. Learning how to wet weld, work in zero-visibility, solve problems on the fly has paid dividends ever since. Great investment!!!
Yo I have nothing to do with welding but I came across your video and I must say that this field is quite impressive. I have never seen anything like it! Who knew you could burn metals together underwater? So cool! :)
Dude right??!!! Im so intrigued with this field of work now 💯
Great vid , watching from Australia , you burn them rods man like a champ nice work 🤙
My uncle did this for nearly 20 years until his business partner/diving buddy died in a freak accident. He decided to become a boat builder after that. Working underwater is a very respectable job but man is it dangerous.
Good man thanks for sharing your experience doing what most of us welders dream about...👊👍
Ive always wanted to go to this school Underwater Welding is my dream job. I got my deep sea cert when i was living in Japan and i JUST got accepted into a welding school (start next month) but fuck id LOVE to do underwater welding SSOOOO much
Practice in the bath
@@user-vm9hh2se7s lmao
Isn’t it hella scary bruh
Iwould like to know how much is the training weldings underwater and how long is the training will take ?
I don’t know anything about welding but I think it’s a really cool profession and this is an even cooler aspect! Nice video
My great uncle devised the technique for welding aluminum cooling fins on nuclear reactors
I’m seriously interested in this occupation.
Very high fatality rate
Love your work, never stop
the weld , the mechanic and drilling oil is the best of the world
Good to learn.....
Wel done job brother...
"you go under slowly" ... camera pans to someone cannonballing in 😂
The most fascinating thing is realizing there can be "fire" underwater.
Thanks guys for coming out and we are excited to put out some more videos.
What do you think about the idea
Here for information cause I plan to take this as a career! Already got my first certificate in basic welding, so level 1 welder. This gives me some confidence in the water part of it, cause I was having second thoughts after one of my family members was saying it was to hard and dangerous, which I knew sense the beginning but still. Wish me luck! 😄
Very informative video!
Good job brother. I went through DIT Divers Institute of Technology in Seattle. Two best dive schools in the country are ocean Corp and DIT.
How much did it cost you???
@@chino123224 $21,000.00 for a seven month course. Great instructors. All of them are former Navy and Army Divers. Extremely knowledgeable. We only dove in tanks for the underwater welding and Knots part of the course. Everything else was diving at depth in lake union in Seattle. Final part to the course you go to sea and dive performing and pipe job at 165 ft. Great school. If I could do it over, I'd probably go to ocean Corp for the NDT weld inspector course. They don't offer that at DIT.
@@chino123224 I forgot to add. I used my GI BILL so I didn't pay for anything but my dive gear.
@@lonner98 wow Damm do you know by any chance they have one in canada ???
@@lonner98 thanks for the answer
Once you get the hang of it you find ways to position your hat so the bubbles don't get in your view. The lower you get under weld if possible the better you can see back of puddle. Starts to be all feel after a while. Gonna maybe be alot less visibility out of that training tank though. My experience visibility is very poor most of the time. Great video! Good to see guys still in this field. I've been in since 2006.
Underwater welding has a 15% death rate. No thank you 🤣
I seen you last week. I'm in the other NDT class 499 I seen you guys doing the radiography as well.
I was a welder for 10 years always wanted to try welding under water just got my diving cert. May try calling some schools I just want to try it once.
Let me know how that goes
Must try if you love your jobs and under water Penetration is the most challenging of all!!!! Nice
Hey brother that’s fantastic! You gave a great presentation. Well done video. You explained everything to a T. Gave it a 👍!
The final frontier of welding videos. The only place left for Weld Tube to go is space!!!!!!!!! 👀👊
Wow! Idk how i ended up here, but this is co!!
Cool*
I took a welding class in hs as well as an adult.. I was always told never to quench a weld because it will cause cracks, how do they do it underwater and keep the structural integrity
Bruh…
I’m a freshmen, and I’m in a metals class.
You have to quench the metal, because it gets hotter than hell sometimes.
@@ferret9263 Quenching is okay when you're just running a pad of beads, but for actual structural integrity on a joint that is going to be critical, quenching is a no-go.
Knives are quenched to increase hardness, this is good, because a knife needs edge retention, and hardness provides that. However, quenching a weld joint is bad. This is because hardened steel is also more brittle which means it is also weaker.
Quenching for knives = good, Quenching for welds = bad. It is acceptable on a learning platform though, because you get more hood time.
Idek man. Good question
I’ve been inspired. I need to start school after I graduate this welding school
Nice video
Eish! My nbr is 0719111999
In the 60's a division of AT&T that made all the communications gear in the USA & elsewhere was Western Electric Co. Winston Salem, N.C. They were world wide cable laying and an arm of the CIA in the planting of listening devises for Russian Nuclear propeller submarine wash during the cold war. I am sure that diving welding & inspection still are probably done even now. Here is a job! Dad & Phil Potter were heads of this back then. Work took them all over the world(every time the flew out to sites they put down what ever they would use so after a few years they had boxes of Rolex diving watches). Both were Chief Petty Officers Navy UDT 20 YEAR MEN.
Its my work using 6013 but adk why still hole inside wielding.
I might do underwater welding later on in Charleston SC. I'm in school rn at teach for Welding certificate
dude if i could afford it i'd go to school for underwater in a heartbeat
Tons of grants and if you're in Texas TWC assists.
Talk to Workforce Solutions and get on the list for their grant. They run out of money fast so get on this list this year so you can start next year. If you have dependents that will qualify you for another type of loan where there is less people giving you a better chance at getting the grant. Call +1 800-321-0298 Monday morning after 7:30AM. Ask to talk to admissions they can guide you in the right direction.
This is pretty dope. I would love to try this sometime.
It's just one of the most dangerous jobs in the world 😁
I went to a tour of a welding class thingy and they talked about under water welding and how much you make and I'm considering it now but I have a fear of dark water maybe someday I can get over that fear I hope🤷♀️
Great video. No fluff or BS. Interesting
I was like thats what underwater welding sounds like😲😲😲😂😂
I don't understand one thing, how come the electric current doesn't shock everything in the water?
Because it's insulated, and the welding arc won't cause electrocution
I was interested in this job 🥺☺️
100$ an hour it would be cool but need experience
U need to be a diver
Thank you for sharing this video
You make this look fun! I wanna learn how too!
Im going to get an education in Norway for offshore diving. In march 2020 im heading over there to learn for 4 months.
Are you an underwater welder now ?
Wow that light must be so bright for it to hurt my eyes through the camera lol
Brave people doing that work
Nice job👍👍👍
Nice next Video black water like Standard inshore UW ✌🏽
I definitely wanna do that sometime in the near future.

I remember back in The day when we welded underwater with a 12 volt battery, jumper cables , and a clothes hanger…
I just love welding...My hobby
Serious question. How much the starting pay?. Thinking about going in for training in Lake Havasu, AZ
Do it!! The Money is nuts work hard for ten years and retire or work 6 months a year for 15-20 then retire. Lol better than the military
i like this, learn about welding in water
God job sir
It's all fun and game until Delta P say hello.
