FYI - the flag on PAB is so expensive because it is actually a multipack that also comes with the Queen's cape, and the smaller flag also. It's a 3 pack!
I think it’s funny the way that Cheesey takes normal set reviews on a set and makes into a review of the other things you can do with the pieces of said set instead of the set itself. There’s a classic lego charm that he brings that many others skip over thanks to the alternate builds
beautiful work as always! I love the high walls and it honestly makes sense given it's right on the water. Idk if that was the intention but either way it looks fantastic
I love harbour builds like this so much! One of my favorite cheesey Mocs is actually your Gateway to the sea! Love the style and energy of the moc, simply wonderful!!!
Something I noticed when building the Lion Knights Castle was that there were tons of 1x4 and 1x3 greys, but whenever there was a need for a 1x2 it was always masonry or a corner brick. Very consistent, and plenty enough to get every sized wall they needed.
Genuinely impressive! I appreciate the fact that your hectic deadline prevented you from falling into the trap that most MOCs suffer from: tiny, fragile details. Official LEGO sets are generally conservative on detail in order to preserve robustness, and I think that's why I like the look of your build. I am currently working on a similar MOC, but it's a bit different. The idea is simply to surround the original castle completely with a moat, rather than having water only on one side.
I've done this sort of thing a couple times before but with the Creator 3 in 1 castle set. I bought 2 a while back and take them apart to rebuild a different castle layout every now and then, it's a lot of fun!
While the restriction of making it in the same style as LKC makes it a bit harder to keep it original enough, I think the water and reasonably large dock does make it standout to a large extent. Having a bit more of an alternative shape would have helped, but you could also simply say it is an expansion of the castle. This was something I planned to do, create an expansion following the style of the original castle, adding mainly functional places like a smithy, a stables and maybe a church or chapel. The whole thing got delayed by lacking parts and several other projects, but this one is certainly a very cool and inspiring build. It is also large, it would have been much easier to make a small tower / building assembly as a side build than this gigantic thing. Thanks for showing us, hopefully there is a part two where you improve and finish it with furnishing!
God I could imagine a series of castle sets that are all parts of a castle. Like the holdfast, the outer courtyard, the drawbridge and moat, the docks, anything you can imagine to make up a huge castle
The Lion Knight's Castle building style has been one that I want to replicate into my own mocs for awhile now, that build looks very impressive for only 3 days, congrats!
"I should have added a backdoor" Cheesey the kind of guy who would have accidentally built an indestructible Death Star without any oversights and security exploits.
You should check out the medieval seaside market that's coming to the bricklink designer program early next year, It would combine quite well with your design (with a small recolor)
Super glad to hear you changed your mind once you got to experience the set. Very cool moc for the amount of time you had for it. Keep up the medieval builds fellow castle head!
Every time you say, "have a great life" at the end of a videos, I feel like you're telling me to go away and never come back. It feels like a breakup line.
Loved this video. I don't care if your late to the party. your reviews are always fun and just the right amount of jokes to actual facts making it worth the wait.
I don't do instructions unfortunately, but I'd highly recommend making your own! You can use the instructions for Lion Knights' Castle online to learn all the techniques you need.
I do wish I had made the facade less flat. Definitely learned a lot for next time! I'd love to part out both models and make an even larger custom one.
Hey Cheesey in my opinion I think that the medival harbour should be like an opposing factions castle like maybe the ravens. I think that it would be cool so you could make like a battle between the lion knights and the (opposing faction).
I'm surprised you didn't mention that there is a medieval Lion knights themed dock coming out from Lego/bricklink. Not for a year or so, but it's official.
It's always nice to see a new convert, even so late into this set's life. There were so many people hating on the poor castle (not saying it's perfect), but I think we are all realizing how much worst it could have been and how LEGO are not going to do better - whether they really have DATA that it won't sell or they are stubborn and don't like their original themes anymore ... Love the set, and I LOVE your take on an addition to it. You could make a bridge going out from yours to a small wall element that can squeeze right inbetween the 2 Lion Knights castle Halves if you want something fancy / different. I do find it odd that the Lion Knght's castle has the perfect place for an expansion set - in the middle - and lego don't seem to want to make a set for that. Could be anything really, like a bridge, a wall, more housing, a huge courtyard , etc )
@@CheeseyStudios I see there are a lot of fancy things made on Rebricjable already, but if I ever get to making it in studio (most likely by using another 1 or 2 Lion Knights Castles ) I would like to have a lower court with some livestock pens, then going up to a throne room (or something related ) with 2 sides to the new portion with more tudor woodwork and a fancy tower / maybe a chapel)
0:56 Weird timing: I just ordered a batch of parts from pick-a-brick. I got everything from the bestsellers list yesterday, but I realized that any part that isn't on the bestsellers list might not arrive in a while. Trying to track the package only sends you the the package you received first, so I'm always seeing "delivered", even though there's a package I haven't gotten yet. Do you know if there's any other way to track the other half of my order?
@@CheeseyStudios I eventually called customer service, and was able to get a tracking number for once it arrives to the US, so it looks like improvements are starting to roll in. My pieces should be arriving on the 17th

Yeah for a moment i thought lego was actually producing more medieval sets instead of the 1477th star wars crap.

Really? I actually had no idea! That's a great deal then IMO
That does make me feel a little better at least! I imagine they cost LEGO about $0.25 max for LEGO to produce though xD
@@CheeseyStudios Yes, no doubt they make a lot on parts... But saves me from buying the full castle ;)

This was really good for a rushed build out to brickworld.
I feel like the only thing it needed were some mini figures with helmet holes 👌
so true
Fantastic work, you matched the style perfectly
Is that a BrotherhoodWorkshop comment? On MY Cheesey Studios video???
Indeed.

for a 3 day build start to finish this looks absolutely amazing. really is a cool companion piece to the castle.
