in some of the old games, you could jettison empty weapons (or NOT empty if you're nasty) to save weight. wonder if this an actual 'desperation' mechanic? high damage to one target, but that weapon is gone!

@@danhectic5629 Rarely, people would use that as a trick in PVP. You see a mech with super heavy weapons, then the moment the fight starts they dump it and charge in for blade work with a suddenly FAST AC.

What's weird is that the Japanese & European trailers all have baked in subtitles for the spoken dialogue that make it easier to hear what's being said, whereas the American ones only have them as Closed Captions.

Shame too as you can often miss that. I’m deaf so just having closed captions in general helps me out but I rarely see every trailer I watch have subtitles
I can attest to Armored Core bosses being difficult. If you watch footage from 4, verdict day, and 5 you can see that some of those missions turn into 3d bullet hells.

Lifelong mecha fanboy, and you're absolutely right. AC6 is just looking too damn good. The better it looks the harder the wait.
I actually think Harry as Venom could work very well if done right. A core element of his character is that he always had a very strained relationship with Norman Osborn, who would often dismiss or purposely downplay his needs if it meant bringing himself closer to what he wanted since he's very much a dark reflection of Peter Parker; a guy with a lot of money and resources but none of the selflessness and capacity for responsibility that makes Parker who he is. Another more overlooked aspect of the character is his brief period in the university-era comics where he was addicted to drugs as a coping mechanism for his own personal insecurities due to Parker always being viewed by his father as more of a son than his own. Mixing those together and tying it to the seductive qualities of the symbiote that perpetuates this cycle of self-destruction could be a very compelling subversion of typical Venom stories and tropes.
I've only played Armored Core 1 thanks to the ps1 demo disc, but I've definitely excited to jump back in with 6. It looks amazing
Would reccomend you play Armored Core 3, Silent Line, and Armored Core For Answer, potentially even Verdict Days even if 5th Gen Armored Core have a very split community
Since Armored Core 6 is taking the best part from Silent Line(Long missions with Check Points and Healing stations), For Answer(Freedom of movement and speedy combat), and Verdict Days(Complex combat both on your mech and the bosses)

Never play Armored Core before, but I'am definitely buying Armored Core 6. The game look so cool and looks like it's gonna be fun.
your gonna be in for a treat this is a very niche series but that gets lots of love from the devs it started out as a passion project and everyone that works on the series gives 100% of there time and dedication youll love it and the story as well welcome to the community raven.
Yes those who finished the first Spiderman knew Harry was going to be Venom but there's been alot of people exposing themselves lately saying Venom was going to be someone else.
The trailers have heavily intimated that its actually Peter as Venom, Harry is just a red herring

It's looking like Harry will be turned into Venom. I imagine the game starts normal, then before Kraven arrives Spidey gets the symbiote, which will get passed to Harry to make Venom.
Edit: In a 3 arc format, the first arc is the intro, maybe small crime stuff that puts the Spider duo on Kraven's radar. This means Peter gets the symbiote either just before that arrival, or right after the first attack. Second arc is dealing with Kraven while Peter slowly goes mad from the suit, leading to MJ begging Miles to save Peter. End of that arc is Peter losing the black suit and the symbiote finding Harry, taking down Kraven to set up the third arc of stopping a rampaging Venom. Though the third arc assumes Venom doesn't become a third playable character and some unknown villain is behind the scenes. Norman as the Goblin? Maybe Mysterio? Don't think either were in the first game's Sinister Six and I dunno what happens in Miles' game.

I would not say its exposing anyone when Eddie Brock has been mentioned/has a presence throughout each game so far. Not to mention the prequel comic making a big deal about JJJ going back to the Daily Bugle, where both MJ and Eddie work canonically. So, I don't blame people for thinking the symbiote would go: Harry -> Peter -> Eddie.
Hell, it still could. It wouldn't surprise me if they want to keep people on their toes. But the marketing is heavily implying Harry will be the host.
I love how the mechs in AC don’t have faces or any extra frilly stuff. Just some badass, streamlined giant robots built for blowing shit up
They're designed as military/industrial equipment. Ironically it makes them stand out in the mecha genre, which usually doesn't go that route. (Meanwhile Battletech is laughing in the distance.)

Its Shoji Kawamori principle, his head design always have that "build for purpose" feeling
- Some head have big static mono-eye (incapable of moving like Zaku or Dom) like Genobee
- Multi-eye like White Glint
- Visor style like Evangel
- and just a plain antenna as head (effective sensor)
- or even just a plain stump as head (give great AP stat i think)
Yes, he himself is also design all of each part for AC from body component, weapon even internal part like generator, radiator and FCS of gen 1 through gen 3
Spider-Man looks cool and all, very excited for Venom to be back in an actual Spider-Man story, but I’m here for Armored Core baby.

@@emiami458it’s a lot really it’s not just another adventure game with collect fest padding. It’s a great multi platformed experience with a dark gritty realistic word with fast paced action mecha gameplay that has pretty complicated controls and highly in depth customization.

That AC6 story trailer is without question the best game cinematic I've ever seen. In three minutes of mostly action, they give you so much information about the tone, plot, and characters you'll be subject to. They brought out so much raw emotion from faceless machines, and showed how cold, brutal, and merciless the setting is.
For anyone coming into AC6 as a fan of FromSoftware in the last 10 years, know that FromSoft have been at that level of quality since their inception. All of the previous Armored Core games have had lore-based storytelling, meaningful customization, and challenging obstacles. AC6 is going to be an evolution of the Souls formula, the same as Souls is simply an evolution of the original Core formula.

Yes, we all knew Venom was going to be in the game (Because they announced the trailer with the symbiote talking and the normal red and white Spider-Man suit being black instead) but all we got was a small shot of Venom's face. So it's nice to actually see what he fully looks like finally.

As someone who hasn't played any armored core i thought this trailer was pretty bad ass and gripping but what i didn't realise until i watched videos of people breaking it down how much depth it had from the story standpoint and the gameplay standpoint.
So excited for Armored Cores 6. The original is the game that inspired Dark Souls. Even the name Dark Souls came from armored core. The tone and even the mechanics of dark souls started in Armored cores with the Hallowing essentially being Augmentation in the first game and the fact that death doesn't mean you restart from a save but lose stuff and put you back into the game even worse off. I'm so happy with the gritty tone of the game so far. Back to the roots of the game that essentially started Dark Souls.

What I love about AC6 is that FromSoft is exploring/experimenting with the 2 things I think are the lacking parts of Elden Ring, and those are "variety in combat" and "transportation mechanics". All that knowledge is gonna refleft really well in the upcoming games.

@@vagamer522 well, the mechs we actually see fighting in the trailer are different ones. there's already speculation that 617 survived and is gonna be a part of the further story.
617 is definitely gonna be a main antagonist trying to get his mech back. That or he’s gonna be on the main enemy forces side. Either way I’m excited to play this game so much.
Besides being hyped about this game in general last year when I got the news the original actor for candyman is voicing venom I was sold immediately

1:19 "I was like who the hell are these characters, they look different" is one of the most relatable things I've heard
Max, to prepare yourself for AC6 you should do a full playthrough of AC1 on PlayStation or AC3 on ps2. Perfect games to get you used to the speed and general gameplay flow of these games. Also, like the Souls games, much of the story comes from text and reading between the lines. So to get the full story, MAKE SURE to read the in-game emails and mission summaries (and depending on the game, maybe even part descriptions)!!
I'd love to see Max try to get a handle on Armored Core. He's patient enough to learn the tutorial-less controls, and I think he'd really enjoy the lore-based storytelling and challenging hurdles. They're also all short enough that if he doesn't like one game he can just finish it and move onto the next one. Or if he does like it, he could do all of the branching paths, try different builds, and finish all of the sequels for each game.
If you reccomend people to play AC games that far back, do warn them how aiming up and down works 💀

I'ma be honest, it might be wiser for him to start on Master of Arena if he's touching Gen 1. AC 1 was a little rough (Screw the platforming on 'Remove Floating Mines' man.) and MoA was basically a vastly improved remake of AC 1... except for Human Plus being unavailable if you didn't bring it over from AC 1 or Project Phantasma.

Seeing the human being surgically modified and put into an AC reminds me of the Human Plus program, company experimenting and augmenting a raven turning them into an augmented cyborg locked into their machine in exchange for clearing their debt

Venoms design looks very VERY similar to his look in Web of Shadows, and I love it. And AC6 looks so fucking sick, that shot where the mech is shoving the gatling gun into that big as bot is fucking hype.

The big reveal is that Harry is Venom. One of the first things they said regarding Venom is that he isn't Eddie Brock. Sounds like they are going with a storyline similar to Ultimate Spider-Man (the comic), where Peter and Eddies fathers created the symbiote.
I still believe Harry is gonna turn into goblin and insomniac is just messing with us. Like the first game they kept doc a secret and made Martin li look like the main villain.

Apparently they didn't change Mary Jane face, it's modeled after the same actress, they are just using an improved face scanning technology.
That Spider-Man 2 trailer was so wierd. I honestly can't remember ever seeing a sequel trailer where the characters looked so different that I really couldn't identify anyone by looking at them, until Venom of course who looks great.

The big thing with showing Venom at the end of the Spider-Man trailer is wondering who is underneath the suit. Will it be Peter? Will it be Harry? Hell it could be Miles, they’re definitely setting something up with him versus Martin Li.
I don't think it's Peter at the end, they show a couple brief shots of a thin Venom like he usually looks when Peter had the symbiote. I'm guessing Peter wears it then it transfers to someone else like most versions, but maybe they'll have Peter completely lose himself and bulk up.

For them making a sequal it seems very odd they would completely redesign the characters of Spiderman, also iv never cared for Spiderman just found it an odd choice. Armored Core though im hyped for.
They were updated when the first game was released for PC/Steam.

I played Armored Core 2 back in the day when i still had my PS2 and not being accustomed to the tanky controls (i still loved it tho), but seeing the trailers for AC6 makes me hyped.
As a long term AC fan I am so fucking hyped for this game. And your analysis of the game is a little off. I wouldn’t describe it as having RPG elements, more like reading specs and capabilities for a PC or a car. And in previous games I wouldn’t even describe PvP OR PvE as a focus, it’s the in between moments, the creation of your AC, the fine tuning, the custom paint job, crafting the perfect weapon of destruction while saving up for that next part upgrade. I’d definitely recommend playing Master of Arena, AC3, and ACFA as kind of a preview, especially with how crushing the old gen’s debts can be lmao
IIRC this game uses some of the story from the Ultimate Spider-Man universe as well as Miles crossing over into the Main Marvel Universe.
It's possible. If it is Harry in the symbiote the whole time, there's a couple shots where he looks thin like when Peter wears him, then it would be similar to the cancer cure version from the Ultimate Universe.

I think the new MJ and Miles looks are a huge upgrade. Still off put by Peter's face. Really wish I could get used to it.
The old Peter model just fits the voice so much better. The new Peter model looks too "young" to fit the deeper tone of the VA.
Yeah I know it's frowned upon to dislike the new face, and even though I don't hate it, I just don't think Ben Jordan's And Yuri's voice go together.

After the (probable) success of AC6, I really want Fromsoft to make a Gundam game again like they did with *Gundam Unicorn* for PS3 back then. Heaven knows that Gundam needs a good new console/PC game right now.
Gundam games (EXVS) have been dominating the arcade & brought a lot of money for Bandai but we need ones for PC/console that's not SD or old. Gundam Battle Alliance was fun but it was SD (super deformed/chibi) & Gundam Battle Operation 2 is too old & clunky this point.
Bandai is too stupid to make a good Gundam game these days😂
I always imagined a "what if" situation where AC (Armored Core) and AC (Ace Combat), which both had Shōji Kawamori as a guest Mech/Plane designer, would one day join forces to make a high octane ground combat and dogfighting Mech game similar to Macross.
As a fan of both Armored Core/Ace Combat series, it would be a perfect match for that type of gameplay.
Im excited for both games. Never played armored core but im sure fromsoft can make us a banger. If we get to play as venom game of the year.

Armored Core 3, Silent Line, Nexus, Last Raven
Armored Core 4, For Answer, Armored Core 5, Verdict Days
AC games share the monster hunter tradition of generations that mostly have a self contained story with a main title and additional titles, then moving to the next main title in a gen with its additions. 6 is the main title or AC's long awaited 6th gen and the fresh new start that comes with it
