pretty much the hardest part is lining up and mating the transmission and engine together. also be careful installing the bolts on the transmission and bolts to the mounts because the threads are aluminum and if you use an impact gun, they may strip. so just tighten the bolts by using a 1/2 inch socket wrench.
@@ryanpittsLPTSunshineCoast also make sure no part of the wiring harness gets in the way. just take your time aligning evenly and then when its together, thread some bolts to hold it together.
Just wanted to throw my thanks out there. First time ever doing a trans removal and reinstall. My throwout bearing went out in my 1999 Civic Ex Coupe 5 spd. With your video it went great! Ended up doing Rear main seal, flywheel, stage 1 exedy clutch and pressure plate, all new motor mounts, and new japanese sankei 555 ball joints. Car has never ran better, did not even have to adjust the clutch. Super stoked, thanks SO much for taking the time to make this with all of the details!

Does any one know if the inspection plate is the same from auto to manual as well as the engine brace next to it. Putting a 2000 ex s40 trans in a 98 ex
@nigellane58 the auto inspection plate doesn't fit at all. The auto brace bolts to the engine still and then 1 of the 2 bolt holes lines up with the trans

Hey legend how did you go aligning it and mating it back together? Any tips? My brother is stuck and it won’t join
@@ryanpittsLPTSunshineCoast if doing this on the floor with jack stands, you might need two people to hold the trans and lining up with the dowels.

That's great to hear! I'm really happy my video was able to help you out
Thank you this has helped me remove and change a transmission on a EM1.. Thought it would be harder than Kseries but it was way easier.
About to do this on my 2000 EK. Thanks for the tips and tricks.
What about the flywheel bolts where you have to turn the crank? I just skipped around and I didn’t see that in the video?
That's only with an automatic transmission. You can see that in my other video here:

Helpful video very good
Thanks, I'm glad you found it useful!
Cheers bro, very helpful. First time doing this on my 97 ek1.
what video is best for clutch install for these models ?
Both bolts for my shift linkage are almost completely rounded is there any other way I can get the shift linkage out ?
You could undo the two bushing bolts at the end near the shifter and take the trans out with the shift linkages and shifter still attached.
Best video ever!
awesome vid.. i always put tire and rims under car.
Saved me so much time. Thank you.
So how do you put it back on??

@@MrChickenspit Watch the video in reverse to put it back on.

Nice informative video. I wish you could have showed little more about taking transmission out. Some mechanical way to pull it out. Thanks.
Crazy!!! Nice broskie!! 😭 👌 📚 📝
I never comment or like did both could never find a good video when I needed it

Thank u for this video, I am gonna try to remove my tranny soon.
Video was perfect 👌
Thank great video
Thank you sir
Man i took 2 rubber looking washers but i dont remember where they go anyone help??
Do you have to take out driver's cv to pull transmission?
You have to at least pull it out of the transmission. You'll have to undo the lower ball joint but you can leave the axle installed in the hub.
YESSSS!
