    Picked up a automatic 98ek a couple months ago (d16y7). In the process of getting my head around everything I'll need to do a manual swap on it, and then picking up all the pieces little by little. Atm most I've done is doing a deep clean on the interior and putting some new wheels on it so I can enjoy it in the meantime while I pick up the parts. Thinking I'll pick up a second D series engine to put in so I can clean it up and do all the seals and head gasket while its out to make sure it is all good.

      SAVAGE WARRIORZZ there is no shift solenoids on a manual transmission. You shift it with the shifter and you can run it on the auto ecu I was but it didn’t run the best. I left a few things out I’m sorry about that I just had to edit 3 videos on this day and I have no help with these it’s just me doing all the recording editing and work so I get a bit overwhelmed some times.

      @@TexasHondaChannel I'm learning from your channel. Yeah I hooked and put everything back together but when I turn the key to start it wont click over. I was maybe thinking the starter? I pulled everything from the salvage yard. And my d4 on my gauge cluster keeps blinking. You have a email where I can reach you? Your a huge help to me.

    • @-Clique
      @-Clique 4 года назад

      Did you jump the park/neutral saggy switch when you pulled the shifter? If it’s unhooked it won’t crank and usually when d4 flashes it means it detects a tranny issue

    Man I wish you didn't live all the way down in texas. Id help you out with a lot of stuff. I have a double bay shop, a few welders, torch, 80gallon air compressor, several spray guns engine stand, cherry picker etc. I plan to build some collapsible walls that I can move around and put up to make a spray booth. Besides I could use an extra set of hands working on my cars as well as someone to motivate me to get stuff done lol I miss having a buddy that works on cars. I had one years ago but he moved away and all my other buddies are the kind that. Take their car to the dealership for anything that goes wrong and couldn't change a flat tire if their life depended on it.

    I'm so glad there is informational videos like this. Your a blessing bro! I have a d16y8 auto that is horrible on take off. I found a d16y8 manual at the salvage that has everything to get it done but the ecu. I'm sure you need a d16y8 5 speed vtec ecu right? Or is there a certain ecu you need?

    • @TexasHondaChannel
      @TexasHondaChannel  4 года назад

      SAVAGE WARRIORZZ I failed to mention the ecu aspect I’m terribly sorry. The manual ecu is a must. You have to do some wiring at the ecu Connector but it’s really easy. I actually did another video where I mentioned it in a update video. You can google image search 96-98 auto to manual ecu wiring or 99-00 auto to manual ecu wiring and they have pictures of how to do it.

    @Texas Honda Channel dude this video is excellent. I’ve thought of doing an auto to stick swap on my EK but wouldn’t even know how to begin doing so. After watching this video I would def take the task on myself though I’m lazy and would rather pay someone else to do the work lol. Excellent video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    hey there, I watched this whole video. I'm appreciative for the tutorial on if i was to do this myself on my 2000 civic lx. Right now i'm completely broke, i bought the car from someone who didn't tell my it was having transmission issues. i havent yet changed the transmission fluid filter. it hesitates shifting 3rd to 4th and also on a side not the gear shifter is hard to shift progressively and sometimes it feels almost normal then goes back to being too hard moving from park to reverse. all the gears work and its a decent car but i dont want it to suddenly crap out it would be a waste. so theres almost 200k on it now. i think swapping it to manual would be far better instead of just getting another automatic transmission for it...

    What’s up, this video was very informative. I have a 93” 4.0L 6 inline grand cherokee that I got for free that’s an automatic trans. So basically to do a swap i just gotta drop the auto trans and replace with the manual trans? Plus everything else going on in the video
