You came to a similar conclusion to mine, that it's really hard to recommend one totally over the other. I think the DJI is easier to use overall, and although I absolutely love the Ultra Wide Lens Mod on the GoPro, it is quite vulnerable and I find that in water sports the water droplets don't roll off it easily, despite the hydrophobic coating. The GoPro is held back quite a bit by the 10nm GP2 chip. Once GoPro has a GP3, hopefully with a 5nm or less process, then battery life should start to compete with the Action 5. Regarding the sharpness on the Action 5, if you reduce it to -2, then pretty much all digital sharpening is turned off. The fact it still looks sharp is more a testament to how good the image processing and downsampling is. Because there are no sharpening halos with it set to -2, if you want to dial it down further, you can. In Resolve just use the sharpening adjustment and add a + radius setting to it of 0.51 or 0.52. In other words, with the GoPro you might need to go down to 0.47, but with the DJI, just dial in the sharpness you want in the other direction. You can further fine tune it with the scaling adjustment. I use action cameras mainly for POV and also for filming my freestyle kayaking practice, so battery life can be super important (because you really don't want to be changing batteries in the rain or with wet hands). The DJI also has a much wider lens for POV out of the box, even compared to HyperView (although HyperView does give you slightly more height). While the Ultra Wide Lens Mod is amazing, it also adds bulk and weight, which can be annoying on a helmet. I've long been saying that GoPro needs to redesign its lens so that it can do an ultra-wide POV to match its competitors without resorting to SuperView or HyperView, which add huge amounts of distortion. In other words, the dynamic stretch modes need to be obsoleted. GoPro has put a 160-degree lens in its new HERO camera, so I'm really hoping that it puts this FOV in the HERO14, because if it does... For POV, wow!
0:54 cuz i got mine, action 5 pro, that u said "acidently press the quick realease" it wont falloff ... u know why ? there's a magnet on the quick release, and thats why u cant tap back and forth. and for "more secure" yes the finger mount is more secure but its more hard to quick release.
6:55 mate you talk nonsense, "add sharpness in post" bro this is an action cam, it supose to be sharp at all scenario ... if u want "a bit soft it would be cinematic" get canon
u know why DJI soft at 4K 120fps ? because the procesor cant handle the prosesing speed, DJI got more juice on the 4 nm chip proc so it can handle easy 4K 120 fps, that's why the detail is there, the image is sharp ... stop bull shit non sense bro
I’ve always strongly preferred the image quality of my GoPros over the DJI. My Hero 13 continues the trend and now I have the superb mounts. I got 3 regular ones, one each for the Max grip, the Shorty and the Volta and I got the ball head one for my Handler, magnetic clip and GoPro backpack strap. My iPhone 15 Pro has superior low light image quality over both DJI and GoPro so I’m covered there also.
Fair review. Nicely done. Both cameras have strengths and weaknesses. GoPro daylight action is hard to beat. Action 5 for low-light, all-day versatility and ease of use. But it’s really a tough decision to choose one over the other.
GoPro still has a more expensive more affordable ecosystem.. gopro has better ancillary accessories like their lenses .. stabilization..color science and out of camera performance with default settings is better . I record in light . Like most people.. DJI shoots a better sky but what about the person in front of the camera.. I care about my skin tone..not the the sky behind me... GoPro is still better.. GoPro has flopped 9-11.. 12 was a little better .13 a little more . GoPro needs to continue improving .. it's sheikh to hate on GoPro by the industry shills..
Camera 399+ultra wide 99+macro 130+ anamorphic +129+ Magnetic mount 25=785Usd in total vs 349 Dji camera that’s what your comparison video was.Absolutely stupid.GoPro comes with some accessories only. That’s what their innovation 😂
No-one should be paying that much, if you get the GoPro sub which is 25 for the first year, you get a discount on everything. the camera goes down to 300. I take your point though
@@Rush-Media The point is what I’m getting out of the box matters the most. Not something we can add tons of money and get something slightly better. For most consumers I don’t think that is necessary.I live in China I can get it in Discounted price which will be ever better.Anyway keep up good work 👍
Why does the sky and clouds looks so flat on the dji? Is it due to the HDR processing? It is in every video I I watch but noone is commenting on it. I like everything the most on the dji except for the damn clouds... also compared to the Ace Pro 2
The image in lower lighting conditions is better than in GoPro, but I wanted to use this camera for FPV. Unfortunately, there is a Jello effect that does not occur in GoPro. The image is unusable in Action 5 for FPV.
See these compared to the Ace Pro 2 here: ruclips.net/video/ZwpRUqSMsLg/видео.html

Thoughts on dji firmware update for higher bitrate
It's an improvement, next we need the hdr switch

It's crazy how wide spread the usage of these awesome compact cameras has become!
Is this with the latest DJI update v01.01.0510?

In good light, the gopro looks great. Dji have lots of interesting features that might attract some.
I like GoPro 👍
Nice job. This is one of the better comparisons that I have seen.
Wow, thanks!
10:25 if i want more control of the image and more lens selection, i'll buy Sony
But, the Action camera's are so small!

It's probably best to get them in your hands and test them out for yourself
Seems like you got descent amount of money from GoPro 😂
Minus £1000s, I keep buying more 😅.
@@Rush-Media send me some so that I can buy one 😂
@@Quickbitesexplain Minus, as in it's costing me, I can send you debt though XD
Am watching 👀 DJI is way better than the go back bro stop lying 😅😅😂😂😂
Just like most DJI review you can find here on youtube. GOPRO Daylight tops it ill give the lowlight with AP5 though but thats it.
Dji is way better, I have them both. GoPro hero 13 will be send back. But in perfect light conditions the hero 13 deliver good, but thats it.

I second that. GP lacks even in many other reviews.
Nd filter makes rock steady mode to be unuse able bacause of a Low shuter speed. Don't buy it if you dont want to wear a gimbal.
No way I buy a gopro😂

Have you read the manual?
Is there something I missed?

I'm sure it's the hdr processing. Hopefully dji will add the option to disable hdr

If they allow us to turn off HDR I wonder if that would fix the jello affect?
