I'm 62 and grew up with great bands of Def Leppard, Judists Preist , Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Ratt, and many more. So blessed to live through the greatest Decades of music. Today's kids don't have a Clue what real music was about.

Steve Clark was The Riffmaster. What a criminally underrated guitarist he was. He was the driving force of Def Leppard. Gone way to soon but never forgotten. Rest In Peace Steve.

I was very impressed how great it sounded for a bootleg. I agree with you that the whole festival should be released on CD, DVD, and Blu-ray remastered. I would definitely get them.

Can't imagine why they don't realize there's money to be made off of this recorded material, at a minimal cost to produce and release too! I agree. People give him so much flack for his high notes these days, but they really don’t put themselves in the shoes of a guy who started singing that way around 1981 and has done it for 180+ shows per tour for the last 40 years. A trooper. Respect

2024 now.....that was 41 years ago! And they're still going, albeit without Steve Clark. First concert i have seen on here where Rick Allen still has his arm. I'm 61 now and Leppard is still is a top band for me. Wow! Man, i love RUclips!
I had forgot how much i loved Def Leppard in 83. They were my band. I had a union jack cap with the target on the top. I was 13 then. After punk, new wave, post modern, death metal, and on and on. Im still rockin them. Im 51 now. Im never gonna stop!!!
Amazing restoration quality. I remember this show from the old bootlegs. Can't believe how good it sounds now. Everyone was on fire. Joe's vocals sound so powerful.
Plus, he's dancing around and putting his soul into the performance! His eyes truly have a feline glint, like he's a leopard or something! Def Leppard is so underrated, as they created a unique rock sound, as well!

Probably because 1) it was recorded on PAL and 2) WDR (German State TV) are great archivists. Lots of the great footage of classic bands from the late 60s onwards is from German TV shows because so much used to get junked because of video tape costs but the Germans kept everything (I believe)
Joe left it all on the stage during this era..he pushed his vocals and you can see the work he put in to reach the eventual heights of hysteria. This is a band who worked and worked. Legends now

The whole reason I turned this on. It was really good but I felt like it was slightly rushed. Didn't have the intensity/dramatic effect like on the record. Still good though.
Really love the performance of Billy's Got A Gun in this show! Lead vocals, harmony vocal, guitar solos, rhythm section, the riffs, all of it is nailed! And the "bang, bang" into the guitar pickup is so satisfying, I think you only get how that feels if you've played an electric guitar that's cranked up.
As i scroll thru all the dl videos i love seeing all the love for Stevie. Rip and thanks for the memories for me 40+yrs later as the next journey in my life begins as we get older.
I got Pyromania on Christmas morning of 1983 It is, has and always will be Christmas music in my home lol I was 9 years old. And STILL one of my fav albums of all time !

I saw them in May of that year when I was 15 and it was the most kick-ass concert. It sold out, the crowd was on fire, the band was fantastic. Also Krokus, and Jon Butcher Axis.
What’s crazy is Joe could keep that voice ferocious for years while touring. Axl Rose started losing his voice within the first two years of touring with GnR. Man what I’d give to see Def Leppard in their prime.. Rip Steve.
Axl is simply not true. I saw them in the mid 90s in Germany and Axls voice was fantastic. And if you check out recent footage he still sounds fine. Don't let your hate for his antics overshadow your judgement of his qualities.

This is terrific. Incredible energy and musicianship. I love this album; I think I owned it on every possible format when I was a kid, and they pull the songs off live brilliantly.

At the age of 16, the Pyromania concert in Vancouver was my first hard rock concert. Unforgettable, amazing show! One of my favorite albums of all-time.

The lineup of Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, Krokus, Quiet Riot, and The Michael Schenker Group is one of the greatest packages ever!! I would have gone crazy if I could see all these bands in one night. I am a huge massive fan of all these bands and I have all their studio and live albums. I agree with one comment I saw on this page which is how has this Festival not been properly released on CD, DVD, and Blu-ray yet. I would definitely get them if they ever did especially with remastered sound. I did find a bootleg of the whole festival years ago at a mom and pop music store that I used to go to and found a triple live CD bootleg of all the bands for $15. I was very impressed with how great it sounded for a bootleg. I listen to it very often.

God damn seeing the old footage of Rick Allen pre-accident and just how good he was when he still had both arms. He's still amazing now, but just think of how different things would be if he never had that accident! Life isn't fair sometimes!
I agree with you. I wonder what hysteria would've sounded like if Rick hadn't lost his left arm? And if Steve still lived on? Their still would've been screeching guitars and all! Life is really unfair. This band went through so much 😔.
