    A quick update: normally the presets are applied not at the ICC level of Capture One Pro, but on the "Styles" tab. There was a little bug in how I installed the presets is all. Just wanted to clarify and thanks for checking out the video!

      @@torreymerritt I was curious about that too, but also find it contradicting to their instruction here, I m so confuse now if I m planning to use some film emulation from cobalt image. Do I need to buy the dng basic pack and apply them at icc profile first then apply these preset? Could you help us?
      ” I am a Capture One user and I love Fuji colour signatures. My camera is a Sony X, what should I buy to get those colours on my camera?”
      When using Capture One software, the process is streamlined, eliminating the need for a basic profile to enable our emulations. Instead, you can seamlessly integrate our Fuji digital emulation pack for Capture One.
      During the checkout, specify your camera model. In response, we’ll tailor the pack to your specific camera model and emulation combination within two working days. An email will be sent containing .ICC files for installation and .costyles for importing. Once set up, you can effortlessly immerse yourself in the Fuji colours on your Sony raw files by simply selecting the appropriate style from the menu. Experience a swift and tailored transition to vibrant Fuji aesthetics.

      @@ekphotography actually, I just purchase and here is what I found out. When you apply the icc profile it give out a color reproduction of the film pack you purchase, when you install the preset to capture one and it will applies like grain, push, curve etc to make it similar to the final film look. If you just want a clean look, you can just ignore the preset or make it as a mask and adjust the level. For Lightroom, there is tools to make it similar to the film processing technique but honestly I have a best results with capture one when everything already baked in and you only have to do a few twist.

      @@dnguyen536 hey mate are you able to add the styles to layers in capture one? I have tried several times but they are greyed out for me. I'd like to try adjusting opacity of the effects if possible.

      Hey man I’d give them an email if you have any spare time just lending your thoughts on their website, etc. I get the feeling they are great at the technical and nerdy stuff but maybe not super great at web design or marketing. I definitely agree though, they could use a website refresh!

    when shooting what do you set your white balance to? auto? or more specific kalvin values? or things like "daylight" "shadow" "flourescent"? this is huge. bless you ole stud.

    • @torreymerritt
      @torreymerritt  11 месяцев назад +1

      Great questions man so with Sony I typically try to keep my white balance at least at daylight (5600 Kelvin) or often times warmer to help with skin tones, so very commonly something like 6000 or 6200 kelvin. I stay away from auto white balance most of the time.

    Your baseline generic photos for the riii look really good lol I don’t remember getting nice sooc pics like yours.

    • @torreymerritt
      @torreymerritt  11 месяцев назад

      I've felt the same way looking at some other photographers who shoot on the riii haha - I think a lot of it comes down to it being more controlled lighting environments or even overcast skies making skin tones a bit more manageable but thank you. I'm a bit hot and cold on Sony for photo sometimes - certain days I like the image and certain days I'm not a fan but overall you can't say it's not a a great camera. There's a RUclipsr Cam Mackey that shoots incredible work on Sony and he makes the argument that it's never the camera but the person using it which I think has some truth. I still prefer Fuji colors though lol

    Really digging these baseline edits with Cobalt. I'm shooting in-house for a brand and we shoot a lot of location based lifestyle model photography (Hi from PDX!). This would def take the edits to another level without going too far. BTW, cool to see your shots with Janiah! We've worked with her a few times.
