    Don’t do it. Twice I did not receive ink when I desperately needed it. It’s impossible to reach a human being for support. Once I did reach a human it took the best part of an hour on the phone to cancel my subscription. I’m still not sure if I’m cancelled. Shame on HP

      Thanks for your input! A shame that they treat people this way. I didn’t had any problems yet with them but I’m a bit nervous if it happens to me.

    It's an extortion racket. We were not even part of this but their firmware update rendered our machine useless as the more affordable cartridges stopped working and is effectively being held hostage by HP.

    It's a scam! What if you print 0 pages a month, your still paying them and they cut your printing off if you stop the program and even if you paid for that ink that is left they still cut you off! Printer is going to be busted up and thrown in the trash and never do business with hp again! They took over $100 and I've only printed about 20 pages and they cut me off for what I paid for!

      My parents tried the program and they decided to stop since they didn’t print much anymore. Their printer still is working but they have to buy the cartridge themselves.

      So i work at instnt ink. I get customers every day where they say its a scam but if you see and compare it to other subscriptions like netflix. Even if you do not watch a single movie on netflix, it will still charge you because thats a montly subscription. Similarly, you are on a plan on your mobile carrier. Even if you do not make a call its still going to charge you. When you stop the carrier service you cannot use that carrier but get a new one. Hence, you are paying for printing pages not ink cartridge. The cartridge you have is instant ink subscription cart. They only work with subscription. So if you cancel you need to have own cartridge which you purchase from staples. Again, the amount you pay is for page subscription not ink carts. I hope that answered your question.

      Then why have a printer subscription if you don't print, you can also rollover the pages you didn't use now the ink cartridge you got is linked to the instant ink program if you cancel its like canceling Netflix, you can still watch a show just go buy it yourself, or continue your subscription because you need to print, but if you don't need to print like ever then don't subscribe get a laser printer that's toner last for months without having to worry about it

    • @TricksTipsFix
      @TricksTipsFix  2 года назад

      @@taylrthegreat It depends. let's say you need 30 color pages printed per year and that's it. It's actually cheaper to get the most basic instant ink subscription instead than going to your local print shop every time .. and it's also way more convenient.

    It's a trap!! Low Value!! HP makes it easy to charge ($), but does not provide value (high cost, low to no product). Then they make it difficult to cancel. Do NOT subscribe...it's not worth it.

    • @TricksTipsFix
      @TricksTipsFix  Год назад

      I think you are right on the part where it's difficult to cancel. I never tried to do it but many people seem to share the same opinion but I would have to disagree on the ''not provide value''. I'm paying $1.25 CAD which is less than an American dollar per month to be able to print 15 pages at home and since I don't print that much I always have around 25 pages in the bank. For a total of $12 USD a year for somebody who prints around 80 copies a year, it's still cheaper than to buy separate cartridges.. especially if you like printing 8.5x11 glossy pictures.

    I've had the free subscription for almost 3 years now, I'm saving a ton of money. However when my current printer dies, I have to pay around 2 dollars a month for 10 pages a month, unlike now where I get 15 pages for free.

  • @psmith4980
    @psmith4980 2 года назад +5

    With Instant Ink, it's only a great deal if you print close the maximum pages you are paying for and even better if most of your pages are in color. It is no different then going to an All You Can Eat Buffet, you pay one price whether you have 1 or 10+ dishes.

    • @TricksTipsFix
      @TricksTipsFix  2 года назад +1

      I have to agree with you but at the same time the cheapest option is still good even if you don’t print much. Lately I be been printing 3 to 5 pages a month. It’s far from my 15 pages limit but since it only cost me $1.50 Canadian per month it still is a cheaper option (and a lot more convenient) than to drive to Staples 3km and print.

    I have been paying for this program for a few years. I have two HP printers and started running out of ink on both printers. So when I finally received the ink, HP sent a few sets of ink. Now understand, I have been paying for the ink for months now. I decided to cancel my subscription and now HP has kidnapped my printers and will not allow me to use the ink that I have been paying for. Yes! they will NOT allow my printer to print with my purchased ink. It's like going to the store and buying an item and not being able to consume it without continuing to keep buying it over and over again. Kinda like a DRUG dealer. HP has joined the world of corruption.

      You have not purchased the ink with Instant Ink. You never paid for those cartidges.
      You paid for being able to use them out of necessity. You are being charged for the page count, not for the cartridge.

    Thanks for your review, it felt very unbiased. I think i understand the negative reviews now, mostly because (imo) ppl don't understand how it works, so when they cancel the subscription they feel scammed when the cartridges stop working. I think I'll try the subscription service, €1.50 per month is very little and sometimes I go months without printing, but ink is a hassle! I just hope i get my ink when I need it!

  • @Sulfen

    Even if the ink was free I would be hesitant to give away so much control. It would give the green light to the other competitors to only make printers that will accept ink with a subscription.

I also feel trapped because no instruction told me that the beginning cartridges used up so quickly... God bless that I don't need use the materials immediately.

      You can't use Netflix to compare to instant ink because allot of people know that you don't need Netflix to watch TV when there are so many free apps out there to watch whatever you want, but you do need a printer to print when it is needed to print something important. Your barking up the wrong tree dude. INSTANT INK IS A GREAT BIG SCAM, NO IF OR BUTTS ABOUT IT!!

      @@MotivationMatrix4u wow.... you are a puppet for sure. Out here trying to convince people to join the insta-ink/hp scam.
      They are dealing with multiple lawsuits right now over this scam. Plus.....hp is literally disabling brand new printers, simply because, customers refuse to pay a monthly ink subscription. Basically, if you don't agree to give them guaranteed money every month, they will disable your printer. They would rather you just throw it in the trash. The real problem is, they don't disclose this information up front

    I purchased a HP Deskjet 2755e printer in 12/22. Everyday I have to call tech support to reset. I have to stay on the phone for 11/2 hrs. I make only a few copies. It should be illegal to be forced to have an account with Instant Ink Account. You should be able to purchase ink anywhere & anytime you want. This is a piece of trash & that is where it belongs. I will never buy anothet HP product or refer it to anyone.

    In India, you get a colour print at Rs5 in a commercial shop while laser B&W print is just Rs1. This is including cost of paper. COnverting to USD, it is 7 cents per page and 6 cents per print excluding paper cost. Calling 10 cent per print as cheap is really funny!

    Thanks for the video. I am considering to buy Hp officejet 9015e. As I researched, that's one of the highest page yield model.
    Now I am confused. If cost-per-print is very low, is instant ink worth for this type of model? Because I pay for the pages. I really wonder about the theory. Please recommend me. Thanks!

    • @TricksTipsFix

      I think it really depends on your personal usage. How many pages a month do you usually print, how many of these pages absolutely need to be in color. Do you usually take a break and stop printing for a a full month or more (this could mean that your printing head could dry up)?

    Well I appreciate your review but I think your bad experience with HP was a one off. As a former HP Rep and long time subscriber of Instant Ink I can tell you this program has so many positive features. As for customer service I have had no issues. You forgot to mention several other postive features like rollover pages & free months for referrals etc. The cost savings is huge overall. But your entitled to your opinion.
