      Thanks ICON!! I cant believe this video actually reached the actual ICON company RUclips channel! I'm honored!! I've been dreaming, since back when this plane was first introduced, to fly or at least go for a ride along in this beautiful aircraft. I LOVE THIS PLANE!!!

I told my self one of these days before my time on this world is over that i must at least go for a ride along in this plane.

      THank you THank you so much for the kind words my friend! I really appreciate the support!! Im not quite there yet and I have a lot more to learn on being a youtuber. Its def a learning curve and its harder than it looks. Its more than just making a video.. You have to be passionate and you must enjoy all aspects of it from editing to creating content. And most importantly you have to not look at it as a money making method as it is very very hard to get to that point of youtubing.

      More like atv/plane/jetski . It's designed with simplicity and recreational in mind. Instruments very easy to understand. Tbh this is what flying should be like. People should be more focused on flying the plane vs looking at instruments and trying to make sense of it all.

    Nice. Yeah I was a fan of the Icon before MSFS came out and had it as a stock plane. I never could figure out why they had a plane like this and didn't get around to water wakes until nearly a year later. And the water wake looks more like for a twin pontoon then a single hull, but guess I should be glad they added it at all. Do you ever think of reshooting a video after an update? I flew the Lake Meade Hoover Dam area before I knew they were updating that area. My previous vid on that was kinda long so I just took down my video instead of a reshoot.
    Aside from the instructional aspectof the video I liked the guided tour as well. I know someone who had a bungalow on one of the hills in the approach to Lindberg Field. We sat in his backyard having a cookout and you could see passengers clearly looking out their windows it was so close.
    Kudos on the post from Icon :)
    Happy flying!

      Hi Thomas, Thank you for checking out this video and for the VERY VERY kind words. This plane has been my favorite plane ever since it was introduced into the market. I would love to own one of these But IRL this plane cost over $300,000 base price. So def out of my price range. So $59.99 MSFS is the next best thing!
      As for MSFS this is actually the very first time I've ever owned any simulator as I was on console for a very very long time and I did not own a PC with high-end hardware to run such demanding software.
      Btw to answer your question I'm currently working on a video of the graphical aspect and optimizations after the World update 6 and hopefully I can get it produced and out before the end of this month.
      I have actually flew solo on a Cessna out from Gillespie field to big bear back during my senior year in Highschool. It was part of our finals exam in Aeronautics elective class here in San Digeo back in the 90's. It was one of the most amazing experience I've had.
      This is one of the main reason why I got into MSFS.

    Playing with the xbox gamepad, when using this plane and pressing the RB while nothing is assigned to this pure button, the plane starts to roll left down. Any idea why is that?

    • @edwindeleon
      @edwindeleon  Год назад

      I am not sure why that would happen. Maybe the game automatically assigns it.
      On my ps4 controller RB is assigned as flaps down.
      Try to reset the buttons to factory and see if that helps. If that dont work try assigning RB to another function. Hope that helps.

    "Designed for the everyday Joe..." who just happens to have $300K in the desk drawer. It's definitely a step toward increased simplicity in flying, but at the price points of LSAs, they're still missing the mark on making flying reachable for the average person. The whole selling point of LSAs was affordable flying that didn't require a ton of training. They're halfway there, I guess.

    • @edwindeleon
      @edwindeleon  2 года назад

      I agree, 300k is a lot of $$$ for the average joe. But there are a lot of cheaper alternatives out there to get into flying, EX paramotors. Cost around 5-15k and it don't require a pilot license as well. Much more attainable to your average joe.

    • @evanwindom3265
      @evanwindom3265 2 года назад

      @@edwindeleon True, but there are even more limitations there. No range, usually no passengers, no real payload, dependent on near-perfect weather conditions. Unless they're mounted on a cart, they're not for people with any real physical limitations, either. It's a very "niche" deal. I'm assuming you've probably watched some paramotor videos, so you're probably aware of what a dirty business it can be in terms of various vendors throwing insults and accusations at each other. (Flight Junkies, et al).

    • @evanwindom3265
      @evanwindom3265 2 года назад

      @@edwindeleon If an "average Joe" wants to get into aviation, there's really no great short cut. The best path is probably still to get a Class III medical, get the license, and find a used piston single if they want to own their own plane. I think most people also underestimate the time, energy and money it takes to properly maintain an aircraft. Annual inspections can produce some nasty financial surprises. Aviation remains an activity for those with plenty of expendable income.

That's where I flew a real aero plane from Gillespie field to big bear. No HIGH SCHOOL today have a class where you can actual fly a plane or fix up cars for a grade.. 99 was a very good year!!

      @@edwindeleon sorry to hear that, I hope you're feeling better now. Great vid btw, subbed. Also I think most ground-based airports actually have a height-above-sea-level recorded in the airport info so that when you're landing you know what the altimeter should read when you're actually on the ground at the airport. Doesn't really apply for random areas of water though!

      @@tombyrne1299 thanks. Much better now. Only mild symptoms. But yes, your 100% correct on that altimeter on airports. But it was a random landing to an unknown water location. So I had to do a VFR (visual flight rules) approach.

    No mention of company`s stated 3000 rpm for landing, don`t appear to use the Angle of Attack gauge - obviously not a pilot of the Icon A5. Oh yeah - it`s the WATER rudder that you have to raise, not the rudder (it`s that big thing up on the tail). But the video is well done.
