- The Icon A5 Realism Mod for MSFS is fantastic! Totally changes the behavior and performance of the default aircraft. This was such a blast to fly and the changelogs are extensive! The developer is certainly putting a ton of effort into this one!

The Icon A5 is my favourite aircraft for a sightseeing trip. It is a fairly simple aircraft that even beginners can handle, which is why I often fly it with my girlfriend via YourControls, because it is pleasantly slow and you can easily see out of the cockpit. As far as I know, the cockpit was designed by BMW Designworks USA and is therefore supposed to be reminiscent of a "flying car" and have a relaxed leisure atmosphere.
I own an A5 and it's amazing how detailed this thing is
You definitely don't have to do the realism mod. :-)
How does the MSFS one compare to the real one..?

Never once thought of flying this aircraft but hey I'm pleasantly surprised by this review and think I'm gonna give this a try.
I love the Icon A5. I'm glad the water rudder behavior has been addressed, it had really bothered me before. I am absolutely going to get the mod.

I love seaplanes, especially seaplanes where the hull is the float (there must be a name for that, but I have no idea what it might be). Anyway, I saw this little aircraft in a video, but watching a video of the MSFS version, I saw it needed some realism work, so I'm really glad to have found this file! I've been using a Grumman Goose (Tales of the Gold Monkey FTW!) on my island hopping adventures in French Polynesia, and I love it, but I might have to give this aircraft a try.
It's one of my favorites to fly, there's a nice seaplane base right next to Logan at Boston, Tailwind Boston. Great to fly out of cause you can get some great city views!
I believe contemporary is the word you were looking for. Love it dude! Going to give this one a go and see if I retain my VR Motion controller support. Youre probably right I should theoretically

you need to try ramping the aircraft, put the gear down in the water and pull up on a beach
The plane is great. The first time I experienced it was in the game Flight sim world. Whatever happened to that game. Oh well but it had the a5. I had the same reaction as you and I still do when playing msfs.

I really like the Icon A5. I've done numerous island hopping flights in this plane. Many water takeoffs and landings too. I been looking for some more liveries for it. The ones i downloaded about a year ago have some glitches after the flight sim updates.
Gonna have to give this a try once RW life stops kicking me in the @$$

Great video but there is also the one with alot of horse power won't show but I will try this one for Fun flying around the lakes :)
Actually just under $400k Also comes with a purchase contract that is very restrictive. Had had some issues with safety. I think mainly people are flying the plane like they show in their ads.
Great video thanks. What are you doing for cockpit movement and pointer (size etc )? I notice your screen freezes as you select switches etc and your selection pointer is really small and very accurate. Thanks for any help you can give us.
But how does it compare to the A5 in its current state? The stock version got some updates in Sim Update 7 or 8.
Can you use this mod while also using the Improvement/Performance mod which has the G3X mod included?
