There's a lot of poor situational awareness in these videos. The first thing that my mom told me when I got behind the wheel for the first time ever was "don't trust anyone, assume every driver is an idiot". That advice has made it so that I have never gotten into an accident in 8 years of driving.
If I were an insurance adjuster I'd put that 80/20 against the cammer. He could have easily avoided that but chose not to. The only reason I'd put 20 on the white car is because he shouldn't have pulled out then poked, blocking the road.

The pickup moved to the right lane in response, then the sedan moved to the right lane. I think the sedan intended to slow down to make a right turn. But the pickup hit it pushing it forward before its wheels were fully turned to the right, causing it to overshoot the turn.

He took the meaning of that sign 🪧 literally. Back in 2015, there were 2 separate accidents at a Wendy’s in Paramus, NJ where driver’s crashed into the store 🏬. This happened because either someone got cut off or people try to beat each other to the store to get to the drive the through lane. As a customer who’s been there many times, I can speak 🗣️ from experience.

And as mentioned, the black SUV was in the turn lane, ran the red and struck the red car. You and I have a significantly different definition of "in the intersection". This is a prime example of traffic jams being at least 50% the fault of driving, not volume. I'd say it's even more than that. Stuff like that happens typically more than once, and it propagates all the way to the left - I've seen 7 lanes come to stop over one exit on my commute.

Pro tip for new driver at 0:18 - once you stop, pump your brakes rapidly to flash your brake lights so that cars coming up behind you notice you are stopped. Turn on emergency flashers until there is a car stopped behind you. If the car you nearly hit had done that, you might not have had such a close call.

Lee and Steve, you’re both wrong. First off, this is a parking lot, not an uncontrolled intersection. The cammer has the right of way because he is in the main lane and the other guy is in a secondary lane. Second, even if it were an uncontrolled intersection, it’s a 3 way, not 4, and the vehicles on the through road have right of way over vehicles on the side road no matter who is on the right.

Don't get me wrong, they are a huge problem... but by far the leading cause of distracted driving isn't texting, it's daydreaming (and/or being distracted by thoughts in your head, also related is "zoning out"). That means the SUV's light was already red for about 1 second. Second, and it's hard to tell for sure, but it appears that the SUV went straight from a right-turn-only lane. Before the car in the next lane over stopped, it looks like there may be an indicator on the road that the 2nd lane from the right can go straight OR turn right. Also, there is a solid white line between the right lane and the 2nd from the right, which would generally indicate that the rightmost lane is right-turn-only (solid white line denoting a different traffic pattern between the two lanes). So the SUV not only ran the light, but went straight from a right-turn-only lane. Double whammy.

Always watch for idiots (about 60%), ppl NOT paying attention, vehicles slowly drifting out of their lane & into your lane, ppl who can't drive in tight spaces (about 90%). Once your car is fixed, it'll be slightly off.

People changing lanes without checking their blind spots or using their blinkers is exactly why I don’t like changing to the middle lane on the highway if I’m parallel with anyone in the opposite lane from me (right lane or high speed lane depending on which one I’m in). I almost collided with someone once because we both decided to change into the middle lane simultaneously while parallel with one another and I’ve avoided doing it ever since to be safe!
3:36 As I own this model of vehicle that reversed into the person with the dashcam, I can confirm that the vehicle that reversed into the cammer does have a reverse camera. It is also decently wide-angled, so if the person driving the white vehicle (which reversed into the cammer) was looking at the reverse camera, an accident should have been avoided.
If you google that intersection, you will see that the black SUV used the right turn only lane to get around the stopped traffic and run the red. 67th and Olive in Peoria AZ.

The cammer has the right of way because he is in the main lane and the other guy is in a secondary lane. Second, even if it were an uncontrolled intersection, it’s a 3 way, not 4, and the vehicles on the through road have right of way over vehicles on the side road no matter who is on the right.

Don't get me wrong, they are a huge problem... but by far the leading cause of distracted driving isn't texting, it's daydreaming (and/or being distracted by thoughts in your head, also related is "zoning out"). Definitely right, if you find you can't pay attention to the task at hand because you're distracted by thoughts and stress, pull over and get it together before continuing. Same goes for being tired.

First, they ran the red -- you can tell because if you play the video slowly, you can see that the cammer's arrow turned green right when the black SUV got to the limit line. That means the SUV's light was already red for about 1 second. Second, and it's hard to tell for sure, but it appears that the SUV went straight from a right-turn-only lane. Before the car in the next lane over stopped, it looks like there may be an indicator on the road that the 2nd lane from the right can go straight OR turn right. Also, there is a solid white line between the right lane and the 2nd from the right, which would generally indicate that the rightmost lane is right-turn-only (solid white line denoting a different traffic pattern between the two lanes). So the SUV not only ran the light, but went straight from a right-turn-only lane. Double whammy.

People changing lanes without checking their blind spots or using their blinkers is exactly why I don’t like changing to the middle lane on the highway if I’m parallel with anyone in the opposite lane from me (right lane or high speed lane depending on which one I’m in). I almost collided with someone once because we both decided to change into the middle lane simultaneously while parallel with one another and I’ve avoided doing it ever since to be safe!
