That's something I've noticed gradually change over the 35 years I've been driving. Back in the '80s, signalling would usually get the person in the next lane to slow down so you could change lanes. Today, I'd say half the time they will either speed up to block you, or not do anything so you're left eternally waiting.
Nice victim blaming, even if he did speed up, he should be able to do that. It's more like I'll indicate and change lanes without looking, and blame the other guy if we crash for lack of CoUrTeSy
If you watch the left side of the video (the side with the car making the swerve) it appears the cammer is speeding up. But if you watch the right side, his speed appears constant. I think the swerver was slowing down whilst swerving his swerve, making it only *look like* the cammer was speeding up.

The way I look at the vast majority of these is they fall into two categories - someone trying to "beat" the light, in which case they are normally through by the time traffic from the cross street starts moving, and people who are just completely oblivious for whatever reason - sleepy, looking at the phone, fixated on something else on the road... those people aren't thinking about running a red light at all, it just happens. I'm not excusing it, just saying that few people are causing "accidents on purpose" (I know, an oxymoron).
Defensive driving tells us to not ride in blind spots, but the onus is still on the driver changing lanes to check... and you can't always NOT be in someone's blind spot - every situation is different. You can't pass them without temporarily being in the blind spot, and likewise they can't pass you without being in yours. People should always check.
@Floffy Catto so that makes it okay to clog up more of the highway? Guys got 200 meters in front of him that he is keeping from being used. Could fit more vehicles onto the highway if he would utilize the space better.

Agreed - dashcammer was going nowhere......... but the reply from johnt.848 just shows why accidents happen - always in a rush/stop people changing lanes etc. Fact - driving roads off peak and outta city/town is relaxing.........a pleasurable experience whilst driving peak times and in city/towns is stop/start is stressful. Why? because everyone wants to get there 5 mins before so tailgate and hit the brakes/gas more often which causes vehicles behind, in a chain reaction, to start/stop and hit the brakes/gas more often That's why 'they' are designing autonomous vehicles to maintain safe driving distances and reduce stop/start which will improve traffic flow..........but try proving that to the likes of dashcammer and johnt.848

I once saved myself from getting plowed into by a drunk driver on the main road who ran a red light after the light turned green for me on the side road because I waited/hesitated before turning right onto the main road to make sure my path was clear and I’m so glad I did! Right after going through the intersection they ended up drifting across the double yellow lines in the road and drove into the ditch/marshy area on the other side coming to a stop in the tall reeds. It’s amazing what a few seconds of double checking can do to avoid collisions!
0:38 Cammer needs to take a long look at his own driving before commenting on the guy he hit. drives straight into the guy, apparently without braking, then doesn't try to steer away from the fence either. 🤦♀
So you would rather go 50MPH, stop, 50MPH, stop, then just cruise at 20MPH? And you're so adamant about it, you'd do something dangerous and stupid just to be in front of that car in heavy traffic? You would really do that to get ONE car ahead? You should look into anger management classes.
Very likely he saved that other persons life, if he had hit them at full tilt, woulda been bad. That type of shearing force does bad stuff to the human body.
#19 at 7:00 . When I am in stop and go traffic on the highway or even city, I am always 6 or 7 cars behind just like the Toyota was so that I am not riding my brakes, plus if someone races in front of me, I do not need to jab my brakes. There is a reason why I got 150K out of my brakes on my 2014 Silverado 1/2 ton. I also most likely would not have been in the high speed lane for no reason.
This is an interesting one - I also leave a large gap, because I'd rather go 20mph than 50, stop, 50, stop.... it's better for everyone, it's better for the overall flow of traffic. Cammer WAS, in fact, tailgating. Barely 1 second behind, when NHTSA says 3 (although 2 is absolutely more reasonable for a regular, modern passenger vehicle). 2 to 3 seconds also leaves space for people to merge safely. I know that goes against the grain of 90% of the people here, but I'm sure you like it when it allows you to change lanes safely and easily; it facilitates the flow of traffic. But people get "not in front of me" syndrome, and make the overall flow of traffic worse for everyone. The biggest reason for bad traffic is the way people are driving, not volume. But I also agree with @Michael M. - there's no "fast lane," it's a passing lane - it's not for people to just cruise in just because they are going fast, it's a lane they can stay in as long as they want if they are passing people on their right, though. In this case, in stop and go, and slow and go traffic, there's no "fast," "passing," or anything lanes - there's just lanes of people trying to go. The normal rule doesn't really apply.
Even if you have a green light, always look to the left and right before you go. Too many people run the lights. And, stay in the right lane, when you turn. Move to left AFTER you check traffic.
#16 Cammer is a PoS driver. She saw the semi was pulling onto the highway and there was no one in the lane to her left. #19 was another idiot cammer. The guy was safely moving with traffic. Where was he expecting him to go?
#2... It's almost like the driver deliberately pulled out in front of the cammer. #3... I feel bad for the cammer. Did nothing wrong, but has to deal with the aftermath. #9... I have to wonder if the at-fault driver was drunk, or high, or what. #20 / #21... I've been hit by a red light runner. The same type; not the ones who are chasing yellows, but the ones that are distracted or something and blow through red well after the lights changed.
7:00 Dude, traffic is backed up and not going anywhere, he's just cruising and leaving safe space rather than constantly jumping on his gas and brake, he's probably seen hundreds of dummy rear enders on that freeway and ur probably gonna be the next one, so why don't you get off his rear and shut that damn horn off and you won't get ur mirror broken
00:22 It's a good idea to wait until you pass a car pulling out before changing lanes. Often they'll think you are turning where you're pulling out from.
Imagine a world where people pay attention to what they are doing and realize they are in control of a 2+ tone piece of machinery capable of destroying lives and property. Welcome to the twilight fantasy zone. But hey. We wouldn't have these videos to watch, would we.😅
These situations where a cammer takes even 10% liability over an accident caused by another driver is utterly mindless on their part. Reason for that statement: GEICO (know from experience) and it's likely other insurance companies will automatically assign 10% blame on the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident with their policy holder. No matter if you have video evidence or not (I did showing their insured crossing 2 solid white lines with no signal, side swiping my front right fender). This is where you put your insurance to work by using them to arbitrate the situation as they have interest in YOU. American Family went to bat for me against GEICO which ended in GEICO paying 100%. Ended paying out $250 (deductible) instead of $2,500.00. Don't waste your money, put your insurance company to work. You pay them enough already. If they don't, drop them like a bad habit and switch companies.
3:16 people buying vehicles so big that they cant see. Seriously, what all do you need to haul in there besides you presidential children who can fit in a sedan?
dude with the white truck with black bar on front really needs to be taken off the road. He's a danger to other drivers more than they are to him. I really wish we knew what insurance provider to send all of his vids to so they can drop him.
4:50 I'm glad that cammer was found a little at fault, entitled prick. He signaled, the solution is *not* to accelerate to block him, but to maintain your speed and let him in.
You're asking other drivers to pay attention to what's DIRECTLY in front of them?? What kind of videos would we watch to remind us of how *STUPID* most drivers are?? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
1:22 Jeep driver doing what Jeep driver's do. Exactly how I lost my Suburban. Turning left, second vehicle through the protected green arrow and I get slammed from the left by a Jeep Patriot. Hard not to judge them all but....
Looks like the same MTI Driving account posted them all too. Looks like an overly aggressive driver that deliberately endangers others for making mistakes. Dude needs to learn defensive driving
0:40 No.3 Not his fault, but did cammer hit brake before hitting other car, not just the horn, there was enough evidence the other car wasn't stopping before it pulled out. 4:02 No.12 Yet again think defensive driving, the car entered from the right, went to left lane, no indicators, so you're not sure where he's going, then swings back to right, you think you'd back off or brake, not keep going.
This is why i keep the mindset that if im driving, im never in a rush. All it takes is one red light to not only end your own life, but the life of another. Id much rather be late for work then never be able to work again because im completely paralysed.
Around this part of the world (it MAY be there in yours too!) but vehicles with paper tags are the *WORST* drivers on the planet! 99% chance they have no insurance on that, so they'll run after an accident. My own dashcam saved the other driver from paying because police were able to run the temp tag numbers to find out the buyer. /Yeah, a buyer doesn't mean it was the driver, but a dishonest driver isn't gonna pay for damages his "buddy" caused.
I don't know what part of the world you are from, but paper (or cardboard) temporary tags usually mean someone bought it from a dealership - new OR used. Unlike a private sale, they have to make sure you have insurance before driving off the lot.
@@ickisandoblina I've got news for you. 2 states do NOT require car insurance before driving off after buying the vehicle. And since it has paper tags, it's not in the DMV database, yet. So if they hit someone, they'll most likely drive off because they can't cover the damages AND no one will know who it was. By the way, try to buy insurance before you buy that vehicle. YOU CAN'T! They need VIN, mileage, type of vehicle, past registration...so on. I never said anything about buying from a dealership. The "drive through a red light and cause an accident" never gets old. How people think doing this won't cause an accident is a mystery to me.
So is Road Realities going to be your name for when you post a bunch of old clips?
4:50 How many times do we see someone driving in another blind spot then get upset because they changed lanes into them.
7:06 why are you honking? Where TF did you think you were going to get to any faster?
Probably trying to tell him to move to a right lane. Slower traffic keep right.
@@MrBattlecharge But it's moving so slow in the first place?
@Floffy Catto so that makes it okay to clog up more of the highway? Guys got 200 meters in front of him that he is keeping from being used. Could fit more vehicles onto the highway if he would utilize the space better.
@@MrBattlecharge your eyes need checked if you think that's 200 meters. The whole highway was at a snail's pace. Where you gonna go except ride the next person's rear?
@Entarr like I said, he's just removing space for other vehicles to be on the highway. Imagine if every driver on the 401 through Toronto did this. Rush hour would last all day and there would only ever be a few hundred cars on at any given time.
6:59 you did a great job tailgating! Also, what is the rush when traffic is moving slow? Having them close the gap might save you 5 seconds max.
That's not the point. Keep up with the traffic flow or asshats will continually cut into the huge gap left.
Why? because everyone wants to get there 5 mins before so tailgate and hit the brakes/gas more often which causes vehicles behind, in a chain reaction, to start/stop and hit the brakes/gas more often
That's why 'they' are designing autonomous vehicles to maintain safe driving distances and reduce stop/start which will improve traffic flow..........but try proving that to the likes of dashcammer and johnt.848
@@johnt.848 -So the point is to tailgate and honk your horn instead of just changing lanes to get ahead of the asshat in the Honda?
@@philhunt9297 I merely pointed out the why. You though admit to being a bad driver based on your comment, and to automatically assume I'm a bad driver is laughable. ps those that say "FACT" when stating an opinion, are generally idiots and opinionated.

#3 0:42 Cammer apparently not paying attention and seemingly speeding over tracks. Crying 'why why!' is more directed at himself then other driver.
And Im just wondering why you had to hit the fence!?
Officer: "do you know why I pulled you over?" Cammer: "No". Officer : "you were *seemingly* speeding."
@@spamlessaccount More like he doesn't know why he gets pulled over because he's clueless.
Hey MTI! Seems like you're doing a lot more crashing than you are driving! Remind me not to be on the roadways near you!

WILL PEOPLE EVER UNDERSTAND THAT JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE YOUR TURN SIGNAL ON DOESN'T GIVE YOU THE RIGHT OF WAY!
No, they won't! You can't tell a Snowflake what to do...because they'll MELT!
/That's why we keep seeing those drivers here.
//You know I'm right! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They may not have the right of way - but you still need to avoid them. There is no requirement that you be an idiot merely because the other driver's an idiot.
No.
4:30 Here we have the elusive "crossing a double yellow to turn left while blocking traffic and causing an accident" dipnumb
4:47 Here we have the "I'm too dumb to notice or anticipate what's about to happen and my fragile ego insists I hammer the gas to cockblock someone from changing lanes dipnumb"
5:25 here we have the same jerk making more of a problem for everyone than necessary cuz he has smallPP
You can totally see at 5:03 the cammer swerved to make sure they made contact
1:10 Nice job by the Toyota driver. Avoided hitting the cammer.
Those convertible 4 runners are getting rare.
19- I HATE DRIVERS LIKE THAT!!! I just pass them from the left side real quick when they don’t expect it 😆
So you would rather go 50MPH, stop, 50MPH, stop, then just cruise at 20MPH? And you're so adamant about it, you'd do something dangerous and stupid just to be in front of that car in heavy traffic? You would really do that to get ONE car ahead? You should look into anger management classes.
Damn good braking on that second clip. I thought for sure that car was getting whacked.
Very likely he saved that other persons life, if he had hit them at full tilt, woulda been bad. That type of shearing force does bad stuff to the human body.
driver looked old as well.
These drivers with their road rage are the reason I have a dashcam. You never know when you'll need evidence.
@5:13 thank you for not backing down. Watching them have to back up to where they started bright my soul so much joy! ❤🎉❤

If there ever was a dumb driver...
Except the Toyota was doing it on purpose to bug the cammer. Also, there is no high speed lane.
0:50 WHY THE FENCE TOO, BRO
1:09 …. NOOOO NOT THE 4RUNNER. As a huge fan of old Toyota trucks, this broke my heart lol
Turn your head left or right before entering a intersection. Geez. How hard is that?
Even if you have a green light, always look to the left and right before you go. Too many people run the lights. And, stay in the right lane, when you turn. Move to left AFTER you check traffic.
#6 this is the part where you pull over off to the side so traffic can PASS ..
Jesus! #20 Hurt ME too! OMG!
#9 damn, how much space do you need to back up??
#16 Cammer is a PoS driver. She saw the semi was pulling onto the highway and there was no one in the lane to her left.
#19 was another idiot cammer. The guy was safely moving with traffic. Where was he expecting him to go?
#17. Route 78 (east or west) is a 65mph zone. You were doing 10 over in the right lane lol should have been mid or left
3:20 is a repeat from just a couple videos ago.
Guess the car saw the cammer indicate and move left as though going to turn in.
The guy in the white truck which I think was that TMI truck would have been in trouble because he aimed for that Chevy that was trying to pass.
Some ancient clips in this one. Filler?
16. You’re supposed to get left for broke down vehicles on the berm before you get next to them.

#14 why on earth would you swerve towards them as well?
4.30 You set yourself up for that. The car at fault never saw you coming. Changing lanes at speed around queuing traffic.
#5 there was no reason to do all that

The Philly police department could fund their whole year's budget on tickets from the bully..I hate driving on it ,especially between adams and 9th st
These situations where a cammer takes even 10% liability over an accident caused by another driver is utterly mindless on their part.
Reason for that statement:
GEICO (know from experience) and it's likely other insurance companies will automatically assign 10% blame on the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident with their policy holder.
Is that true? Well, then it looks like you saved 15% on your car insurance!

MTI driving is a menace and needs to be off the road
#18. Do they even teach some truck drivers how to back up safely? I don’t know how you good drivers put up with that crap.
5:55- but your still driving on the line...
This is why i keep the mindset that if im driving, im never in a rush. All it takes is one red light to not only end your own life, but the life of another. Id much rather be late for work then never be able to work again because im completely paralysed.
5:45- if you see it then just move over….. DUH
Red light runners should automatically go to jail & don't collect $200.00!! lol
most of these are basic driving and yet they fail.
MTI Driver?
Around this part of the world (it MAY be there in yours too!) but vehicles with paper tags are the *WORST* drivers on the planet! 99% chance they have no insurance on that, so they'll run after an accident. My own dashcam saved the other driver from paying because police were able to run the temp tag numbers to find out the buyer.
/Yeah, a buyer doesn't mean it was the driver, but a dishonest driver isn't gonna pay for damages his "buddy" caused.
But they were suppose to be looking in their mirror the whole time to see if someone is coming, not looking ahead to see where they are going.
Private sales happen all the time because it's a better deal and not all private sales are honest.
