    Of all the videos on live-well fluid dynamics this one is by far the best. You hit a home run mate. I have been getting air-locked pumps and now that is over thanks to you.

    Mate so glad I came across your videos. I've got my first tinny, and the more I'm looking at things the more I need a tig welder to learn ali welding. Such a neat project

    Mate, defiantly do a video on how to wire a boat. That animation was the clearest instructions that I have seen on the subject.
    The Tiny Boat Nation guys have lots of info on it but It's explained at lightening speed and you need to have a fair understanding of the process to glean info from their vids.
    Sensational stuff, keep going!
    Also a vid about ally welding for dummies would be awesome. I would be keen to have a crack at that.
    Cheers

      Sounds good Dean, I’ll see what I can wrestle up. I’m getting a little faster with the animations now so there a bit less daunting, but definitely still time consuming. As for Ally welding, I’d like to see one of those videos too ;) some days the welds look great, other days it would’ve been more efficient to get the drill out to make some holes!

      @@GriftCo But the welds look miles better than rivets! Even if they are crap welds.
      What's a ball park cost to get setup for the welding?
      Where did you get the bling switch panel?
      Cheers!

    Keep an eye on that bilge hose mate. I had the UV split mine. Sure it took 8yrs and split just above the waterline but still pretty scary to see water coming in to the boat.

    Really good quality video there mate. I just started installing my 27L plastic live well.. I am using a self priming pump so it will pump air. so no air lock issues. My bilge pump is already done. I am using standard quick connect garden hose which is cheap.

    Flow Rite for the win!!!. Just did a system 4 in my boat. I ended up using the flow rite hose clamps too they are amazing.

    Great video mate, very informative. Not sure what treatment you did when you have the air lock but a potential fix could be a breather at the high point between the two low points. The breather needs to be higher than any other point in the line and a one way valve will ensure no excessive vacuum noise while on he plan. The breather does not need to be of large dimension it only needs to releave the pressure of he air lock. Not sure if it will work in you application but could be worth a try. Tight lines

    Great video mate, have you thought about installing a pick up on the transom so water is going through the pump when on the plane? Installed one the other day myself and it's awesome.

    • @GriftCo
      @GriftCo  3 года назад

      Hey Owen, yep thought about it, and I should’ve shown that the pickup I have installed is projected forwards so it should be less likely to Venturi out. I mostly have airlock at the start of a fishing session when the water in the line drains after pulling the water out and the water in the dip hasn’t evaporated or drained. I’m probably just being a pedant but I do like when things work as intended!

    Hey dude, first, excellent build. I’m building a 17’ jetboat and I appreciate you welding things and not just riveting things like other tiny boat builders. Could you link the livewell parts you bought? I want to do this same setup for my livewell in my jetboat. Thanks man!

    very informative, a lot of good info. My only question is how does the tank drain out the back of the boat when the outlet is below the water line.Which creates pressure in the line?

  • @Timothedownunder

    Hi. Im wondering those pumps.... How much power they use? Are they quiet enough to keep them on all the time when fishing?

  • @benphilippi9325
    @benphilippi9325 2 года назад

    need check valves to prevent air lock and on any points that could leak. i.e if the hose split would water rush in and sink your boat? then put a check valve on it.

    Really great video. I'm trying to plumb a smaller baitwell for some shrimp in a small boat I am building now. Your video helped.. especially the part about airlock. Question... What was that tool you were using after you drilled the holes with the big step bit? Some kind of chamfer tool or something?

    Why add a recirculation pump and not just let it drain out the overflow is it just for aeration.
