@@recyclebin9689 so far so good 😅. I can get right around 350 photos on one battery (fewer if it’s really cold out). A second battery is always a good idea haha.
I'm amateur photographer who doesn't have camera but uses Xiaomi note 9 phone for photos. I was considering getting Nikon Z 50 with 50-250mm lenses as it is on discount. Now I think that it might be too big of a upgrade to go from a phone to professional camera and that maybe I should get cheaper camera for the start ,but what do you think or recommend? Also beautiful photos. I love seeing other people enjoy their profession in which they can express their creativity and skills😃
@@rokos.1239 cheers Roko! Thanks for the kind words. The Z50 is my first mirrorless camera (before was just using iPhone 8 Plus). It’s a really good camera for beginner -> pro photographers. I wouldn’t worry about it being too big of an upgrade. Just my 2 cents :).
Have you had any issues with the Z50 after all your wet tests with it? I have a Z50 and have noticed there’s no gasket on the battery/SD card bay, has water ever made it into that area on you?
Really love your video with incredible Nikon! Wandering around the city and taking pictures while chatting is so great. That's why i love u and your video. Also appreciate your wonderful works!❤
You got some very decent images on what sounds like unusual conditions for you, namely night shooting in the rain. Thought you did quite well and am inspired to try it myself! I have a Z50 and now that it's been a year, wonder if you had any moisture problems as a result of getting it wet (really wet!). Thanks!
Hey Walt, thanks for your message! I definitely don’t do a lot of night shooting (although I’ve done a bit more since this video). I’m happy to say that my Z50 has been very solid in the rainy conditions I’ve put it through. One thing I always do is use a weather sealed lens in the rain. Don’t want any water getting in there! Oh and I make sure to take the battery out and let everything dry out really well when I get home. Best of luck with your ventures!
Love the video and shots you took keep up the good work brother can’t wait to see more of your videos 👍🏼. I’m planning on getting the z50 for family travel and street photography. I hear it doesn’t do good in low light but seeing from your pics it looks like it’s doing just fine. Definitely can’t wait to get the z50 now.
Thanks for the kind words Felix!! I’d highly recommend the Z50. It’s a great little camera for the price! I was shooting with the 35mm 1.8 lens in this video. Definitely helped with the low light 💡
Hi man. I really love your videos. I swear no one on RUclips does it like you. I wanted to know if you edit your photos slightly or show them as it is coming out of the camera?
Considering about the Z50. This is such a great video, as I'm also planning to get a 35mm prime as well. Also, just a suggestion, could you please put the camera settings when you show the pictures, just a small text labeling the ISO, shutter speed, aperture. Other than that, your videos are really entertaining and great! Also, I really love your video on shooting in the rainforest with the Z50! Maybe consider making more of those!
Thanks so much!! I’m sure you’ll love the 35mm. Also thanks for the suggestions. I’ve been trying to not put settings on the photos cause I find it too much to look at all at once. Sometimes put the settings just before the photos.
@@RolandKaufmann I understand, it's absolutely alright! Putting the settings with the photo in your videos help a lot for those who are beginners in terms of photography, for me, it's just for technical purposes, I want to observe the image quality, the read noises depending on what ISO you're using, as well as your shutter speeds, as it may be useful during panning shots for your viewers to see. I find the live view on the Nikon D3400 to be a bit slow, focusing speeds, etc... therefore, I am planning to switch to a mirrorless system, with a crop sensor as they are slightly cheaper. I also need that fast 11fps burst rate that the Z50 offers. Thanks again for replying!
Glad to see ya back at it. However, got to take a break every so often, prevent burnout. I am currently debating getting the Z50 or the Z5. Just starting in street photography and your work has me leaning to Z50. Not planning on making money, it is to get my dad out and moving. I use to do landscapes and wildlife, but he cannot do that with Parkinson w/dementia.
Yes exactly! I’m feeling recharged for the new year :). If you’re looking to get started the Z50 is a great camera. I moved to it from taking photos on my iPhone. The kit lens (16-50) is pretty versatile. I’ve been meaning to shoot another POV with it.
Appreciate the response@@RolandKaufmann. Plus get the adapter and can use current DX lenses. Keep up the great work and continue to inspire others...include my old self!
Hey Roland, really nice images you made. I want to tell you about old vintage lenses you can use on the Nikon Z50. With an adapter. The Helios 44 I can recomment. They are great and cheap. Just look for old lenses. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Can't even imagine this camera is capable of this sick sharpness even at night, but this couldn't happen without a master! ;) Congrats on this POV too, I really enjoyed it, can't wait to see more :D May I ask just one question would you recommend z50 with 16-50 and 50-250 kit lenses or maybe Sony A6400 w/ 18-135mm kit lens? Thanks for the answer in advance!
Thank you for the kind words! Got a whole playlist of POVs if you haven’t seen them already :). I think the z50 with those 2 lenses is a great option! Haven’t tried the Sony so I can’t say.
I love the look of the Nikon Z fc. I really want to buy it, but it is not waterproof. For the same price (approximately $1k), I can get the Z50 with two lenses (NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR and NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR). I am not into mirrorless cameras yet; I only use a smartphone. I cannot decide which one to buy.
Well the Z50 isn’t waterproof either 😅. It is weather sealed though and I’ve put it to the test haha. Pros of the Zfc are the manual dials and a swivel screen instead of a tilting screen. Other than that they are pretty much identical. I still love my Z50 three years later. It was my first mirrorless camera as well 👍🏼
Hey Tudor, I shoot in manual mode so I dial in the iso for each shot. The max I went in this video was around 2000 ISO. If the image is a bit underexposed I can usually recover it in Lightroom.
Woahhh what setting did u use :0? I just got my first camera which is the z50, I use the kit tho since lens are expensive, can i please know the setup?
I shoot all my photos in Manual mode so settings are always changing. With the 16-50mm kit lens your best night photography results with come at the lowest aperture (at 16mm it’s 3.5 I think). You’ll have to raise your ISO to get more light at night. If you’re shooting in auto settings try and watch some videos on the “exposure triangle”. Once you learn that camera settings will become much easier.
I'm amateur photographer who wants to learn photography and strong the basics for this Nnikon Z50 camera good ? . i have a canon powershot 540hs but its pretty outdated and have some knowledge about photography

Thank you! I shoot at night so rarely I’m probably not the best person to copy haha. I was shooting fully manual (except Auto White Balance). Kept my aperture wide open most of the time (1.8-2.2 range). Shutter speed was always changing(1/250 was average). ISO was around 500-1600 depending on available light. You could totally shoot with some auto settings Instead of manual everything. Just have to figure out what works for you! ✌🏼
I’m not well versed with the Nikon DSLRs, but I know quite a bit about the Z50 :). I’ve been shooting with it for the past couple years and have no regrets. What are your hesitations? Maybe I can help.

I am curious of what mode you shot in and shutter speed. Thanks for sharing.
I shot in fully manual. Shutter speed ranging from 1/100-1/250. The 35mm 1.8 doesn’t have VR so I have to keep it a bit faster than I would like to.

Hey, thanks! Somewhere around 250-1000. I usually don’t raise it too high. Have a lot of success raising shadows in Lightroom.
