I got my first proper camera today, Canon EOS 6D with the 24-100? kit lens and a Canon 50mm f/1.4. Feels good having a camera that doesn't seem to limit me nearly as much as a cheap bridge camera from the same era
Although it’s hard trying to manually focus and composing your shot at the same time, manual lenses have a unique vibe, I have one too and although I miss many shots, (most of the time, when I open the photos on my pc I regret not using my autofocus lenses) it’s a nice experience…I mostly use it if Im doing a more chilled out photo walk, for example shooting buildings, I have all the time to focus.
I love how in America you can just walk around and take pictures of random ppl. Here in Germany I would get one charge after another of ppl being furious about me taking pictures of them 😂
Awesome video dude, you were actually like 2 blocks from where I live and I was also out shooting that night! Wish I could've run into you :p - big fan
It's cool watching your videos but I just want to ask you how does it feel living in New York. I mean I constantly hear people honking at each other, isn't annoying after a while? Anyways, great video, have a great day!
Great photo shoot! Been hooked up with this street photography too that I started a series on my channel (mobile street photography series). Don’t have the budget to have a go pro with me but, it doesn’t stop me from doing this. Always enjoy your uploads Pierre. A great day to all! :)
Hi Pierre I just wondered that is apsc lens or full frame lens? or the other word you setting your camera to apsc sensor?😅 cause I saw the website they not selling 50mm f0.95 fullframe for Sony. Reply if you have a time✌🏻✌🏻 Thanks in advance.
I'm curious about that smoky thing, is that some kind of a heater? I'm Asian, and it's warm the whole year here, so it catches my attention all of sudden. thank you
Pierre you make simple shots look so fantastic and professional. Truly inspirational and motivational, always gives me the mood to go out and shoot. Thank you for your vids❤❤
Quick question just wondering when your photography class is going to start up? Just curious because I wanna learn. I do video but I’d like to learn photography as well. Just excited to start and learn.
Love your vids; Pierre. New subscriber here & I’m really enjoying going through your videos & watching them. Keep them coming; your energy & vibes is very positive. ✌️
Please tell me sir your settings on the camera for night photography with this lens, close and lightnesstime… and so on.. thank you Sir! Regards from switzerland 🇨🇭
Depends on what you want out of the lens/what you already have. I really love a good 50mm prime on my a6300. They are usually extremely light and versatile. (keep in mind that with the 1.5x crop factor it will shoot like a 75mm). If you take a lot of portraits and street photography like in this video, I would absolutely recommend the 50mm. Having a prime lens which will force you to be creative in how it is used is a great way to learn, and I personally ALWAYS keep a 50mm in my bag as a back up (if it isn't my main lens that is). Additionally, the f1.8 is super nice for getting nice buttery blurry background/bokeh. It is also much cheaper, and therefore less risky for you as an investment. On the other hand, if you plan to do a lot of outdoors/wildlife/landscape photography, I might consider the 18-105mm. The 50mm is absolutely capable of some of that, however for larger animals and wider views the zoom lens could be more versatile. The f4 aperture won't be as big a consideration in those situations because you want more stuff in focus to begin with (presumably). Overall, personally I would go with the 50mmThe more you shoot with it you will get a better idea of the photos you like-I.E. do you like close up shots? Farther away? etc. That will lead you to buy a lens you truly need in the future. One other thing you might consider doing is looking into adapting vintage lenses onto the a6000. I personally use an a6300 with a Techart PRO adapter plate with a set of old Minolta MD lenses. If you do your research, you can find some really great glass for cheap. The only catch is that focusing is somewhat more difficult (at least without the Techart PRO).
NY by Night is incredible I hope i will have the same chance as you Pierre !

YAYAYAYAYA!!!
“you gotta try it…if you don’t try, you don’t know and if you don’t know you didn’t try” very wise words 😂
Yeah.... But what if you're broke?
😂
I was about to add the same thing
Se você tiver quebrado vc tenta que Deus abençoa
i get the warm fuzzies knowing there are people out there randomly taking photos of me
Trying to manual focus on f0.95 in the winter with moving subjects…. The dedication 👏👏
Hey Pierre, loved the video. I'm always surprised by how you find really cool shots in places I never would have looked. It's super inspirational!
I laughed when the van pulled up perfectly to block the entire shot of the parking entrance

24-105
It wouldn't be New York if there wouldn't be "honking-white-noise" 😹
couldnt tell it was new york since all the backgrounds are bokeh lol
Love those red lenses.
"Blurred" can also be beautiful. I love this.
I like how dynamic you walk throughout the streets
'How much aperture do you want?'
'Yes'
Manual or not, you nailed some of those shots. The steam was epic. The lady at the end, excellent. Great work, as always.
my guy nailing focus manually and i keep missing with af. what a pro.
shooting around the city is such a beautiful adventure
Few minutes in and man, I love that you got that park-sign in eventually. I was hoping you would. Much love from another street photographer!
I love your photos and work and I have seen most of your videos. I wish you health and happiness
You inspire me, Pierre. Thanks for all you do for the community.
bro I love your videos, makes me feel so inspired to go out there to get those amazing shots, super motivational and therapeutic
I love the shutter sound. Great video.
I could already feel the Newyork vibes from the shots.. Amazing 🔥🔥🔥
You inspired me to make street photography videos and post them on my channel! Thank you! You're an amazing artist!

but he uses focus peaking to focus better with manual
Ha, I've circled those same smoke stacks. Racked up some pretty high citibike fees when I stopped for just a "quick" "couple" shots 😂
Nice vid ! i usually don't like black and whute photos, but yours are so clean ! Good job
Yep, noticed there's a lot more landscape shots. I approve !
That lens looks awesome.
I wish I had the bravery to walk around and take photos of people
wow amazing
Man i really wanna do a street photo with you! I will come to chicago next year and i am hoping to see you bro!
You ar my favorit photographer. I just learned a lot about your videos. Thanks Pierre😇🙏🤝
Most important thing i got from this vid ... Is that is almost impossible to get in focus with this Lens 😂
love the idea of going out and doing this

SONY IS ALWAYS ALTIMATE
Hey Pierre, I have to admire that you‘re faster with MF than my Sony a7iii with AF-C and a Sigma glass on it. Happy Holidays!
Great video you made in New York City

Feeling great , this video brought back the excitement I missed for quite some time now , love these videos , keep rocking sir !
I think I need to learn from you to accept that an out of focus shot can be good, especially in a series.
I love the video you made in New York City

Can you share why you take most of you photos in vertical instead of horizontal? You can even shoot stunning landscape photos in vertical!
buildings are vertical
And he shoots for Instagram which is vertical
I find vertical photos to be more appealing as there are more “depth”. However it’s not that easy especially when you are shooting landscape photos…..
brings back memories of shooting weddings and events with my Hasselblad

I first started shooting with manual focus, so it feels uncomfortable using autofocus 🤣
I love these videos
Love watching the process. At time I was wishing you had auto focus though....

You remind me of me so much when I shoot it’s unreal😂
Always good video ! The lens is awesome 📸
where did you get the red version of this lens? I can't find it anywhere. The black one comes up when I click your link
It was on their official website until summer 2023 I guess, you can still find one probably on ebay or etc
What kind of adapter did you use for this lens so you can mount it on the A1 ….
these people r probably thinking why is this dude in a bush taking pics of me
Are you using the lens on your sony? If so how? Did you need to use an adapter?
They come with official adapter
I love the lens but it’s almost $1000 that lens is more expensive than my camera lol
My comment got deleted but for everyone, the same brand makes a great affordable apsc lens. 50mm f1.2
Good stuff. Merry Christmas.
To you too!
01:44 Good stuff, keep it up!
I love your video. Wish you make shooting in Christmas 🎅
4:24 in my opinion it looked better raw than edited

@@anihilistsweetpotato9535 Thx for the great advice. i am gonna do some thinking over the holidays, trying to make up my mind.
NY is great minus the honking.
Maybe its should be "Good afternoon every one"😂

I can’t find that Sony mic in stock anywhere! 😩
How about Canon 50/0.95 dream lens and Nikon Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct lens?
Do you shoot in Av in this scenes to just worry with the focus in each photo? Sorry if I didn’t get it
man the constant sound of car horns is so annoying.
it's like almost ASMR but then BEEEEEEB, BOOOOOB
135 f1.8 night street ?
wow beautiful
You are a bast Photographer brother ❤️❤️❤️
Oh, you use focus peaking? I did not think about it. Technology helps you out
What are those red/black things under the camera he’s using and what are they called?
,,overexposed" That was never happen on my g7 at night. :D But often out of focus...
