I respect your thoughts, but i personally like Samyang, somehow colors come diff in samyang to my liking.
SY tends to have nice warm colors like a Sky 1A filter.

Do you have zeiss 35 1.4 to do a video?, specially if the lens was produced on 2018 and up. I read somewhere those produced after 2018 solved all the issues reported by users regarding bad copies and that they also upgrade the ssm . Thanks.

Great video. Although I prefer the compactness of Sony, would like to have the Samyang in my bag. I had the opportunity to use that lens for a week and now, is in the first place of my list.
Right after the video is published and shared on some facebook groups, some people complained they have a bad experience with Samyang 35mm.
Actually, my brother who own the same lens in this video, his lens stops working, the camera sees black.
Many times, the autofocus stops working and stuck at out of focus view.
When turn the camera off and on after a while, it works fine for a few minutes then the focus freezes.
I emailed samyang and been asked to update the firmware, where have to buy an additional device to update.
However, Some of the people who complained on facebook claimed that the update did nothing and the lens still nonfunctional. Others said they sent the lens for repair and got fixed after 3 months.

If you're on a tight budget consider Samyang 45mm f1.8

Unfortunately doesn't work on Capture one.
when Samyang announces 35 1.4, I feel like I just need the 1.4 lenses because I can reduce the iso. later I found out the sharpness is not so good. still, it is useable for those who in tights budget.
To be honest, the different shows only when zooming to 100% zoom. My brother love his samyang lens and prefers to have more bokeh and extra light. I'm the the opposite.

today I compared side by side Samyang 35mm f/1.8 to Samyang 35mm f/1.4 and noticed the same thing with bokeh.
The new f/1.8 version was like f/2.5 on the old one.
I hoped to replace the bigger 1.4 version with the new one but after seeing that the new lens is not truly f1.8 I'm not going to.
It seems that both Sony and Samyang by going small, compromised the optical parameters. The new Samyang lens not only has less blur that the old one, it is also about half a stop darker

nobody is comparing the samyang 35 1.8 with the samyany 35 1.4, when they have very little price diff now.
i’ve noticed this. can’t find anything regarding differences between these two besides 1.4 vs 1.8

Hard to understand...
The Samyang is cheaper, faster, better build quality and better bokeh, I just got one for $325 lightly used. Love the Samyang 85 f/1.4 The Samyang lenses have a character to them that the Sony lenses just do not. Every Samyang lens Ive tested on Sony has been great, even the little cheap primes. Great lenses, especially at their price points.
How did you find the AF in samyang 35mm 1.4?
@@arshadalansary8227 Garbage. Ive since sold all my Samyang lenses after having several shoots ruined by soft or out of focus shots. I got the Sigma 35 and 85 1.4 and both are worlds better than the Samyang lenses in every way.
