I have had this cell phone for almost 1 year. And it's really great. In the beginning, it had problems with overheating, but after the update - there are no more problems with overheating. A good cell phone, especially the camera.

I've preordered the 1V but I am seriously tempted to just go for a 1IV and not wait. I don't really need to record video for long periods. Also I'm bummed that they got rid of the purple. Still undecided but making us wait 2 months really sucks and has me second guessing it. I'm sure the new main cam is better but I'm coming from a 5+ year old jobsite phone with an unbelievably bad camera. Anything will be a massive improvement and the 1IV's camera already was great.
Trust me, you don't want to make concessions like that for a phone you're gonna spend all your time with. Also, i got one for my dad a couple weeks ago, it feels a lot more premium. The no purple is a bummer, but green's nice too.
I was wondering. I you hook up a Xperia IV with a power cable and film a video like this in the highest quality. Will it not overheat because of the pass trough charging? Just like it won't overheat with gaming? Because that would make it a great phone for studio filming.
Who takes an hour long video in a mobile phone, lol plus I live in Canada half of the year is cold, but the most important reason why I would still buy this phone is the 50% off from its original price, I will never buy a 1500 dollar worth of mobile phone that depreciates in value

I considered to buy the Xperia 1 IV but the 1 V is around the corner and the pre-order deals are just too nice to skip. You get the 1 V for $1399 and pre-order bonus are the WM5 headphones which costs currently $350. So at best you will pay $1050. A stealer.

Both work fine for me after rooting it and using Shizuku and Pixel IMS to enable these features. It's unfortunate that I had to go that route for something T-mobile deliberately disabled on these phones, but at least I'm happy I found a workaround.
Xperia 1 iv 256 gb is now being sold at a really good price 873 dollar In my country and the 512 gb 970 dollar But I guess who has money Better to go buy Xperia 1v because the 8 gen 2
Hi. Regarding to Xperia 5 IV - Is 8 GB of RAM enough? If anyone ever used - haven't you noticed a decrease in performance with intensive use of the application? google maps (navigation), whatsap, chrome and many tabs? I'm thinking about Xperia 1 IV, it has 12GB RAM.
Honestly if you don't play intensively, shokt videos or use too much heavy applications, this is still a beast of a phone. I think the only reason they never used the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is because it was in development before the chip was announced. So they can't immediately do the change. Otherwise, for casual to heavy use if you don't do intensive work, it's a great phone.
Lol yup I think I'll only get 1 year old flagships from now on. Rocking an S21U so my next phone will probably be an S22U(or maybe even one of the other flagship offerings from 2022.)
Has anyone seen or heard anything about the excessive blu light both of the new V's are using.?? Ive seen it mentioned in a few reviews and with the switch to the iphone look camera, for me it was a turn off which is a shame because the "compact range" has been my go to since they released them. But i ended up replacing my recently smashed 5 IV to a 1 IV. Feeling confident ive made the right decision lol 🤔🤔
I had it for about a week. It locked up taking photos, would often require a reboot. It was a horrible phone. Too bad too, because the camera had me excited.
@@TechOdyssey the one thing I miss about the PRO I, is that it had a separate dedicated button for launching the video app. On my Sony IV, I've occasionally missed shots fumbling with the touch screen to launch it and missed the moment. Massively. Don't buy it if you plan on being a heavy user of it. I'm a courier and it can't hope with the constant calling of the camera and navigation. The throttling it does to prevent overheating turns it into a device from 2010.
Please show us the phone more, and don't just wave it around for 1 second here and there. The voice can be consistent and then cut back and forth between your face and the phone, or even better, only do a voice over and just show us the main character for this video, Xperia, instead of your face.

Hey 👋 how does the battery hold up after all these years?
I've had it for almost a year. No problem and no overheating. A perfect phone.
Must be nice
It's not quite perfect, the heat issue problem is still inherent to the chip. It gets hot but it never OVERheats
