As a former pothead, the issue is that it quickly becomes a daily habit, especially with youth. Kids get drunk on the weekend with friends but it rarely turns into drinking each morning and through out the day. With weed, it’s the opposite. It’s a slow boil when you start young in this day and age. It should be legal but people who sell to people under 18 should have severe consequences
I disagree with you about the drinking everyday thing. It's quite common for people to drink everyday. Alcoholics Anonymous has millions of members. Plus if you compare the amount of deaths from drunk driving versus stoned driving it's not close. I'm not saying either is good, but there is a difference in danger between the two. And I wouldn't be angry if they raised the legal weed buying age to 25.
@ agreed. I didn’t mean to say that daily drinking doesn’t happen but with youth, just that it’s WAY more common for them to toke every day vs drink every day, sun up to bedtime.
We shouldn’t normalize weed as “harmless”, just like we used to normalize drinking (and still do - to some extent) Even just 10 years ago, having a glass or two of wine, or beer every night, or binge drinking every weekend is seen as the “norm” and not as an addiction. Bill is kind of full of it about weed not being addictive, just like any pothead will tell you. Yes, he could “stop” at any time without many bad side effects like hard drugs. It doesn’t mean it’s not addictive or potentially harmful. People under 18 or 21 should not touch it
@@gabrieledwards1066not everything is pure danger though. Weed can take a man’s purpose away and that’s really bad for society. And since it’s not as scary as booze it’s often overlooked. And vaping or being slightly high is harder to spot than a drunk. So people get high at work now. There’s no free lunch with it, but agreed, legalized and/or decriminalized federally then let states and local municipalities decide.

If you’re mentioning perceived biases against Ben, I appreciate that you’re approaching this topic with an open mind. However, there’s an essential point to understand-this is who Ben genuinely is. He hasn’t altered his views or personality to fit the expectations of this show or its audience. The notable change, then, is not in him but in the fact that you have stepped outside of your own familiar perspectives to engage with his. It’s worth noting that this process of stepping beyond one's bubble is important on both sides of the political spectrum. I don't mean to imply that this is unique to one group, but it does seem that this type of openness is encouraged more frequently within conservative circles. The challenge and value of reaching across these divides cannot be overstated, especially as we all strive to understand others without sacrificing our own beliefs.

at the 9:30 mark, about the left not being normal... but Bill, this IS the whole reason why I'd vote for Trump now. It's not because I like Trump, I think the abnormal part, and policies, of the progressive left is actually more harmful to the country (especially in regards to resetting normalcy) than another Trump term. So if the left wasn't pandering to so many abnormal things, I'd probably be fine voting Democrat.

And there are people, reasonable, intelligent people, that believe in their heart that the Earth is flat.
Drinking every day is most college students.

It ain't pretty at his age.
Once you have a taste of a private plane ....... He's a billionaire bill. He has a private plane already.... The hell are you talking about
Hahaha exactly
Ben needed to call him out more for casual nonsense like that
"I did cocaine, I smoked cigarettes for 20 years, I now drink and smoke weed consistently. Let me tell you marijuana is not addicting"... Sorry Bill, you aren't quite as filled with wisdom as you think you are. Nobody should be using him as a resource for what is addicting and what isn't. He's almost 70 years old and he hasn't went one day without getting high or drunk.
15:03 He wants to be president because he wants to fly private or have security? Um…billionaire. 🤦🏻♀️
I think it's a question of perspective. Bill probably thinks of himself as being wealthy, and he is. But there are things he can't have because they're beyond him. He doesn't see what it's like to be a multi-billionaire.
These same people say Trump said he would dissolve the constitution. Then you read the quote because it was a post on truth. It says if America allows election interference, it is akin to canceling the constitution. So he never even out of context said he would cancel it, so instead of taking it out of context, they just completely changed his words. Even when Cenk was pushed on it, he said, "So what if he didn't say it? He said all of these other things." 😂 he is using it again.😂😂
Exactly. Bill doesn't understand many things about Trump, so he certainly wouldn't understand his motives for running for president.
Yeah that part confused me. Trump said it many times he can just buy an island retire and he can buy 50 private jets if he wants to.
It’s an analogy. It’s also wrong.
I still don’t understand why being able to communicate with opposing world leader and negotiate is a bad thing. If you are incapable of diplomacy then you have war. We had no new wars under Trump for a reason. Only 2 ways to resolve a dispute, talking and fighting. One chose talking and the other chose fighting.
And we saw what happens with only appeasement and no threat of war under Harris and Biden. 2 absolutely horrendous wars and Sam Harris made the same argument that no president should have good relationships with dictators, who seriously believes fhat ? There was no wars under president trump because he carried a big stick

I’m a republican and like Bill and Ben. I watch both shows often and equally weekly. I consider myself moderate, male, 45yrs old and we need open dialogue like this. These shows are better than any traditional media where the bias and rhetoric are not palatable whatsoever. To each their own but there is such a divide in this country clashing over the weirdness of split society consciousness. The progressives on each side or ruining this country
at the 9:30 mark, about the left not being normal... but Bill, this IS the whole reason why I'd vote for Trump now. It's not because I like Trump, I think the abnormal part, and policies, of the progressive left is actually more harmful to the country (especially in regards to resetting normalcy) than another Trump term. So if the left wasn't pandering to so many abnormal things, I'd probably be fine voting Democrat.
This why i love Bill having someone on that he mostly disagrees with while having a healthy debate ❤
