Thank you. Very useful advice, particularly regarding the different greases. Only thing I'd add is be careful not to inhale brake dust while cleaning - use a simple disposable face mask.
Thanks for this video. I have just serviced my 2010 Japanese spec Swift which looks very similar to your one. However there are slight differences in the shims and pads. I also had to get a caliper spreading tool to fit the calipers back on.
If we change brake pads ,good to skimming discs also ,coz surface scoring is there ,so it's good to polish disc when we change brake pads So brake juddering can avoided after change brake pads ,thanks for your video
I usually do, but the car was such low mileage and the sliding pins still had almost new looking grease on them. You are right though, for the purpose of the video I should of cleaned and re greased. Thanks
fleet tech Hi, Suzuki Swift? When the discs/rotors are moving without brakes being applied? Similar on other Swift platforms, such as S-Cross/SX4. I have it on both of our cars. I believe it's the 'enviro friendly' pad compound and light glazing of the discs, plus a lack of copper-ease/lubrication. I'm currently seeking out a better brand of pads.
I sort of agree, but if the discs are in good condition then I would only change the pads as a disc should last twice as long as pads depending on the way it is driven. Being a sort of environmentalist, and I use that term loosely then why use unnecessary resources when it can be repurposed.

How would you do this?
Wonderful job... it would be amazing if u also clean and lubricate the sliding pins....

Great video.Helps a lot. Thanks man.

Helped a lot. Cheers mate!
Glad it helped 👍🏼
Surely you should put the copper grease on the pads before insertion?
Why? you would have grease all over you gloves and then could contaminate the friction surface.
Is that a k12b or k14b. The models in Barbados the wheel studs are different to yours
K12b
??? there is no need to purge the braking system after changing the brake pads???

It is advisable to put new discs on at same time as pads .

@@baconbuttties aren't you supposed to smoothen the the discs, with help from a machine shop, before putting the pads on?
@@immanueldelcastillo6041 depends on the condition, as you would still get good braking performance of the discs were good 👍
@@baconbuttties alright brother. Subscribed.
