Well, in my case, it is just more enemies, and they will most likely fight each other to get to myself, or they will both team up to fight me. The first scenario will just let me eat some popcorn and let the spectacle unfold, and possibly get a miracle of them cancelling each other out, and thus literally me being in the position of winning a game of Mario Party like I was Luigi, i.e., I literally did nothing, and I still won the game. The second scenario merely halves my problems. The third scenario makes handling my problems a bit more difficult, but I can still manage the situation.

I want to clarify a few things here.
First, mafu doesn't just do covers. He has several albums, he is a producer, and a music writer. He produced and sang several songs for animes, video games, etc. ( even Pokémon, etc.)
He makes wonderful music and I encourage you to listen to it. He recently released a song related to the whole situation.
Second, Mafu is not a BFE singer.
He NEVER treated his fans like his girlfriends ans he never made that kind of content or encouraged it. It is because of his obsessive FANS that he has to take care of these issues...
Speaking of Mikeneko, she has a long history on the Japanese internet for wanting attention. In her past, when she was not even a Vtuber yet, she threatened her views with taking her life off if they didnt donate her. Her mental health is not good at all.
Also, in her past before she was famous, She said she was a big fan of mafumafu.
Speaking of mafu, he also struggles with depression and low self-esteem, but he has friends who support him and he tries to do his best.
I have been a fan of mafu for years, And he never had a history of abuse or bad attitudes, he was always simple and transparent with his fans.
It's just sad that Mafu had to get involved with a person like her and I hope this solve out in the best way.

1000% this. Mafumafu really hates making people worried. It’s no secret that he’s mentally ill but he never wants to burden anyone and apologizes every single time he has to bring up a gloomy topic. I remember that time when he overworked himself to the point of hospitalization and had to take an sudden hiatus (and he thought fans would hate him for it too like???) He’s considerate to a fault

This is why it pisses me off whenever outsiders say stuff like “both are toxic” or “menhera x menhera”. I can’t speak on Mikeneko (the things former fans say about her though…) but I know Mafu is extremely thoughtful and considerate. He puts all his negative emotions into songs and tries not to let his problems affect anyone else. Like we’re talking about the guy who keeps up a cheerful face even when he’s getting stalked and bullied behind the scenes. The guy who never tweets anything sad or negative no matter how depressed he is, just because he doesn’t want people to think utaites are crazy unstable people. The guy who refuses to tweet during the day because he thinks the notification might disrupt his fans when they’re at work or in class. He’s THAT polite.
Yeah Mafumafu definitely isn’t a BFE persona to the extent that Rushia is, and to even compare them is a disservice to him. He is very incessant of the fact that he’s single though, and he’s made this persona of never being able to be in relationships, which to some extent fuel his fans’ hopes that he’ll remain “theirs” forever. He doesn’t seem to try to dispel the “gachikoi” behavior that his fans do either, instead capitalizing on those fans for money. So I would still call him BFE adjacent even if he’s not full on embracing it.
I do feel bad for him though, because his close friend and job partner, Soraru had a similar incident where he was very close with a female singer called Lon to the point that a lot of people shipped them or speculated that they were dating, which pissed off Soraru’s extreme fans so much that they started spamming streams that featured the two of them or sending hate to Lon, which allegedly led to them barely not interacting anymore. And Mafumafu was there to witness it firsthand.
So you get bashed for making your relationship public (not saying Soraru and Lon were confirmed to be dating just hypothetically), and you also get slandered for trying to keep it hidden. There truly is no way to win.

Basically it’s because their position in those markets is to advertise themselves as certain personas that sell well to certain types of audiences. There are audiences out there that may develop fictional infatuation on media personas/character they show in their respective medias. Basicly there is clear cut division in Japan (in general, depends on the media type) of the actor or actress character played, vs the person’s actual self and actual life. Here in the states, (only using this example since I was born and live here,) we often combine our personal life, and our media image/persona as one in the same, or tightly connected. Depending on the industry, it’s more common to have them strictly separate in Japan from what I have seen.
This is probably why, for example, if a V-tuber actually is publicly found out to being in a real world relationship, it ruins the immersion for some types of audiences. Those companies probably just want to play it safe to maximize their targeted audiences, and make sure actors/actresses do not publicly show their real world relationships on the same platforms as their fictional personas for media.
It’s kinda like a more intense version of what they do in many manga or anime, as some characters relationships are often stated by writers to, “leave it up to the fans,” to maximum possible audiences, lol!
CDawgVA, who was portrayed in the video once remarked on his RUclips that he had a fanbase composed of 93% women. He used to call some and pretend he was Sebastian from Black Butler (he was able to do an impression of the original English VA) - I am certain at the time many of his fans were quite parasocial with him. He stoped doing that and his fanbase evened out but one of his mods a VTuber by the name of Rainhoe was one of those 93%.
I think she has long since gotten over that as she is still a mod of his despite her living in Germany and he living in Japan (he streams late night American time ad so does she so both of them have really seriously messed up sleep schedules

Mikeneko also used her fans to attack other indie and much smaller Vtuber, Delutaya, online unprompted due to some rumor she heard without any basis. Even when the Vtuber she attacked, Delutaya, actually tried to reach out to her privately to clarify the situation and settle the issue privately, Mikeneko refused and asked for lawyers to be called to which Delutaya obliged and Mikeneko then went radio silence on the matter and never talked about it again.

stop spreading false info bruh the real story is this:
basically it all started with Mikeneko having a trauma induced panic attack when or not related to Delus debut and vented on a private stream about it( it was about how much she has done for the Vtuber community and fans but still got shit for no reason while Delta ( a person she believed hurt her, due to things that happened in the past) gets a warm welcome from jp guys, while she gets nothing but shit, she spoke of unfair treatment (since Delta did also something fucked up and still gets warmly welcomed). It was about a matter between these two that never got resolved, however Mikeneko neither named Names nor allude to any descriptions that could be used to connect she was talking about delutaya in her stream, which is believable since nobody knew about this statement of mikeneko(no antis, no 4channers not even delus closest fans). It came to Delus attention because a fan leaked the paywalled stuff to Delu and not because of antis harrassing her( which was a massive overexageration from her part). Since Delu got wind of that she bothered Mikeneko endlessly to know what she was talking about (and clearing her name which was never in danger) and stressed Mikeneko to the point that she had to bloke Delu, which prompted the fanbox post from Delu which started all this mess in the first place, nobody would have even known if Delu simply ignored that or doing the same by adressing rumours labeling them untrue without mention names. And Delu came with 1000 of accusations towards Mikeneko (and worstly name her and misconstrue details that much to make it sound like she is still contact with dramatubers which was the publics mane problem) without any proof which Mikeneko clarified some accusations in her newest statement she had to rashly bring up due to the slander and hate she received because of Delus post to lessen the damage. In conclusion Mikeneko indeed spoke of Delu and complained about how the public threat both of them differently and found that unfair (which seems fair) but didn't named names at all and hid that behind paywall on private stream which pretty much says that she did all necessary things to not send slander to anyone but to vent about her problems, while Delu panicked out that much and made it worse by overblowing a nothingburger which hasnt been acknowledged for months by antis nor fans.
As a sidenote the public fanbox was written by Delus lawyer so most fault comes on this guy being incompetent at his job and possibly opened her client for a defamation lawsuit (Mikeneko didnt sued her)but also Delta for releasing it knowing very well what this could do which proves Mikeneko right for not trusting Delu(due of her past actions) and her lawyer(since he proved how incompetent and stupid he is) the evidence she had for Delu talking bad about her.
Delu isnt a bad person since she was anxious about falling in the same spiral of hate again she panicked about it and greatly overexagarate it by saying she is getting hate for it(no proof of hate has been shown) and she also asked people not to harass Mikeneko, so what Delu did was a stupid move but not filled with malicious intent since it was about her image than slandering mikeneko which of course doesn't repair the damage of mikeneko she had done with it. Delus words were highly trusted( even tho it was those of her lawyer) which made many people turn against Mikeneko. Since then no update was there on the situation but Mikeneko is still getting slandered until that day. You're the one that is spreading misinformation here: if you know the Vtuber world and Japanese, you'd know who Mikeneko was talking about in her stream, her statement in her stream is unfounded as they have very different circumstances and her accusations with the "story" she gave on stream further caused the attack on Delu. DELUTAYA tried to REACH OUT to MIKENEKO PRIVATELY FROM THE START and she provided the statement from herself and Narukami regarding the matter in which both denied such situations ever taking place but she ignored Delu's request even with the statements of the people she was accusing, Mikeneko demanded Delu to speak to her lawyers and goes to legal proceedings, Delutaya was against this at first but finally relented and followed Mikeneko's instructions but Mike then chickened out when Delu actually goes to legal and prepared for a lawsuit. Delu is an indie Vtuber so she doesn't get protection like Mike did in Vshojo and had to pay the cost out of her own pocket for using lawyers, she also has a significantly smaller listener/viewers so she didn't make as much money as Mike, even at significant disadvantages Delu was willing to do all of that just to clear her name.
On the topic of Mikeneko allegations: it wasn't true, Mikeneko has no evidence of her accusations towards Delu and Narukami, dramatuber, as both denied it. When Delu followed Mike's request of going the legal route, Mike chickened out. All the talk about having evidence but backed out when Delu was going to go to the legal action route says a lot about the situation.
Regarding Delutaya and Mikeneko's post Holo run: they were on a different circumstances, Delutaya had to graduate because of constant attack from the antis regarding her past statements that she didn't even share to the public but only to her streamer colleagues as she did it with an alt account that only have her streamer colleagues as her listenere. While, Mikeneko was fired because of the controversy which she caused on her own as she's the one that reached out to Korekore with classified information such as private information of herself and other holomems. Mike accusations Delu of having acquaintance with dramatuber and slandering Mike are rich when Mike has more confirmed activities(about her previous boyfriend, then her Holo controversy, then Mafumafu, and recently appearing on Korekore's stream) with dramatuber and slander towards other Vtuber than Delu. Mike, with her previous persona, slandered one of the holomems by implying that she got harassed by her senpai in one of her marshmallows, if you read the marshmallow you know it was about her Minecraft situation with Miko where Rushia pranked Miko, if you watched that stream you'd know there was no malice from Miko towards what she said and she intended it as a joke as EVERYONE else except Mike gets it and Mike was the one who pranked Miko but Mike got offended by what Miko said even though everyone knew Miko's reply was not serious.
Delu also doesn't immediately get back to streaming as soon as Mike doesn't stream as often as Mike too. She had to get her mental health in check after what the antis did to her and didn't start to stream again two years after she graduated from Holo. There's nothing that can be correlated between Delu and Mike's situations other than they got harassed, but for COMPLETELY different reasons.
Funny you're calling Delu's action as stupid when Delu didn't start any of the drama, didn't mention, imply, or compare herself to other Vtuber, didn't accuse any Vtuber in a certain story in a stream without having any evidence to back that up, didn't block the other person on social media. Delu was trying to settle privately, but sure, Delu is stupid one for releasing a statement because Mikeneko refusing to discuss the matter amicably and insisted on taking the legal battle route.

One thing the guy who created this video gets wrong is that in Japan, it's only "idols" who are not allowed to date. Singers, actors, pop stars etc are allowed to date and marry, many if not most do. In Korea, it's only those underage that are looked down on for dating. It's like if they're caught smoking or something. I don't know why people keep perpetuating all of these weird myths. "Oh look wacky Asia!" In truth, the same happens in the west, just different industries. How many Disney stars were dating while working at Disney? So much so that the entire community has been consistently making jokes along the lines of "Man 2024 has been a shitty year.... But sir! It's only February!" because the amount of drama that's happened is what you'd expect over an entire year in a bad year. Not in the first couple of months of one.

I've been followed mafumafu since 2019, i forgot when was it when his friend found mafumafu unconscious in his apartment. Well, mafumafu also had a traumatic past too, so it's really unhealthy relationship between him with mikeneko, since mikeneko known as menhera (people with mental health problem).
And 2022 i remembered that mafumafu hiatus a little bit long, and only said that it was due to his health. Turn out it was bcs of his married life that he divorced with mikeneko in 2022. Only 6th month they were together as a married couple.

As someone who has been following this guy for around 4 years, can confirm he's a really innocent person in his nature, too good for this world. This isn't the first time he's getting bullied or manipulated by people, and he already had a terribly low self-esteem even before he began his career in 2010, and I can't even imagine how terribly these events must have ruined it for him. I really hope this ends without a harm to that guy and he gets some mental health support, he really needs it now, more than ever.

1) There isn't such rule that "forbids having relationships" in utaite culture, they're free to announce it if they want It's all up to them. In this particular situation, mikeneko (rushia) was in hololive at that moment and unlike utaite's, hololive actually prohibits their talents from publicly announcing their relationships. 2) No, Utaites don't "just" cover already existing songs. They can also release their original songs. Mafumafu plays guitar, bass, piano, drums and can compose, mix, write his own lyrics and works under other names too, he's a musician AND utaite.

It isn’t, it’s just different since entertainment media or the internet in general is seen over there by most as not a reflection of the real world. At best, a substitute for news papers of real world related. Because in entertainment people’s position in those markets is to advertise a persona, there is clear cut division (depends on the media type) of the actor/actress’s character played, vs the person’s actual self and private life.
Here in the US that would never work, since we often combine and publish our personal life and fictional media image/act as the same, or connected always. Depending on the industry, it’s more common to have them strictly separate in Japan.
This can be said why if a V-Tuber publishes/ or found out as being in a real world relationship, it ruins the immersion for some types of audiences. Those companies probably just want to play it safe to maximize their targeted audiences, and make sure actors/actresses do not publicly show their real world relationships on the same platforms as their fictional personas for said market. Thing is, admiring a fictional character is seen as a mental illness here in the US, as the only examples we have are people who don’t separate fiction from reality. Now when things escalate from just a fandom to Idol culture? That can definitely cause issues.

You can’t have friends (or I guess colleagues) of the opposite sex and are forced to cater to a fantasy that is unhealthy for both you and the consumer to up your revenue. Setting the expectation that you/your character is pure, chased, perfect and virtuous is setting yourself up to fail because no matter how good you are you are gonna slip up and there will be very little sympathy for that. My personal opinion is that a Vtuber ideally functions as an alter Ego or Persona, it’s still “you” just a more fantastical exaggerated version of you. In my opinion those are the people who end up being the most successful while remaining healthy enough to carry out this profession in the long term. Completely overhauling your own character to please an audience that will never be pleased is not sustainable for anyone and also doesn’t attract the kind of fans who are supportive and well adjusted. A Vtuber should be Entertainment, NOT personal Fantasy fulfilment or substitute for real life relationships.

Since I'm a mafumafu fan, I would like to add some context on some little points. Nothing major, but just here in case anyone wants to read lol.
Firstly, very nitpicky, but while mafumafu is an utaite, he does also create his own original songs as well. In fact he has multiple albums both solo and as a duo with another utaite (soraru) under the name "After the Rain." (AtR even did a pokemon opening!) His original work is work checking out for anyone who enjoys j-pop or j-rock, especially if you enjoy vocaloid! His most recent original solo song released was "I Don't Mind Being Unhappy Forever" which many speculate might've been inspired by these events that have come to light
Secondly, people are correct in that he deals with a lot of self-esteem issues, he's actually always been pretty open about that. He's in his early 30's with an older brother who already has a wife and kids, and I believe he's worried he'll fall short in comparison. I'm genuinely not sure if he truthfully has never fallen in love with someone prior, and it's honestly no one's business if he has, but if he really hasn't I can imagine he still felt pressure to, which could explain some of his more rash decisions. On top of that he did explain she was constantly accusing him of cheating, and it seems his reason for marrying so quickly may have had the thought process of "Well I don't think I'll ever fall in love with anyone else, and she's clearly worried about me not being faithful, so if we get married maybe she'll trust me more, and I don't think I'll ever be with anyone else." Obviously, he should've listened to his friends warnings, but I can sympathize with him, and I think he's probably taken this as a learning moment as well.
Edit: I wasn't originally going to add this point since I thought it was me overthinking, but I've seen other fans point this out so I might as well too. Mafumafu doesn't really play into the "BFE" thing. Now thats not to say he doesn't have weird parasocial fans, he definitely does. Almost any celebrity does. However the way he interacts with fans isn't really playing into the "boyfriend" role. The most he does is blog type videos where he plays with his cats, does a challenge with some friends, or go to disneyworld. I just wanted to make this point, nitpicky as it may seem, because it's using the behavior of young and immature/extreme fans to paint a brush over the rest. I personally became a fan because I really enjoy his music and covers. I also think he's a pretty funny and relatable guy, so I'm also drawn to his streams and vlog style content. Many fans are the same.

I am a fan of Mafumafu music for about 10 years, and I actually would be happy for him finally finding someone to understand and comfort him since his songs are mostly about not seeing and understanding future, being a guy to blame and a scum of society (talking about dark and sad of his songs). I never heard about BFE before this video and i can't completely agree with this definition of him. I always saw him first as a talented and unique musician and singer even in his communication with fans, he always said that he will be trying his best for us to make a better music. I don't see any play with audience in his words, i even watched his whole performance in a huge stage during covid isolation, it's just all about his power and emotions that he puts into his songs and just some sincere words of thanking to his audience for supporting him.

I had never heard anything about the BFE stuff with him until I started seeing people making these videos. And a lot of them boil him down to being a guy intentionally tries to make his fans parasocial. I mean I got into Mafu in a time that he would rarely show his face without covering or blurring it, and it wasn't until a few years ago when he would start showing his face more often. Though he did used to show his face more in the beginning but started hiding it cause he started getting stalked by people. I thought it was weird to see that his fans were parasocial towards him cause I thought most people just liked him for being a very talented artist. But I guess thinking about it now it could happen to any famous person.

No, its not sinple as that. There are proper procedure to this and if things went really bad that it led to divorce, there is a way to divorce in a good way. This is crazy, but this is why I personally warned people about the 'what happens when a VTuber does something illegal and people aren't allowed to call them out?"Illegal in this case, no. But toxic to a point no one wants to say 'Enough is enough.' The problem with a few VTuber groups (mainly VShojo but some other groups do this) is that they have a rule saying that you're "Not allowed to cause drama within the community." Yet, how many times have VTubers caused drama among other people? There's no accountability with some people, and Mafumafu sadly took advantage of this.
On a personal note, I recently had to deal with something similar with an IRL friend of mine who was abused for years, and at first decided to end it, but ended up back together with the personal. It's a disaster that I can't stand no matter what direction it goes in.
In general, these abusive relationships need to both be called out and made clear that it's not ok for this kind of relationship to happen. Also, if someone is in an abusive relationship and you know it, it would be better in the long-run to help the person get out of it.

Despite previously being a hololive fan, I had never stood on Rushia’s side, as there had been track record of her problematic behavior and mental health issues. While we don’t know for sure yet, my heart goes out to mafumafu and hope both of them would be able to recover from this incident and for Mikeneko to get professional help.
Even during Hololive year, many people always knew how unstable her emotions were, but somehow, people just chalked it off of being her quirk.
One instance is when Gen 3 were playing Smash together, when she's up against Noel, she was kinda possessed. Even if Noel and the other Gen 3 laughed it away, you can tell there's some uncomfortable feeling.

I have been a casual Mafumafu fan since 2017-2018, and I just can’t remember him doing BFE. I only remembered him for his original & cover songs and also that he streams on RUclips. I do get that he has lots of female fans, but I was thinking along the lines of his music.

Nah, its just bad behavior. Most people don't do this stuff because they never get in a situation where they can do it, which is why it always surprises friends when one of your buds get rich or popular and then suddenly starts acting real nasty about everything. It's really rare to find someone who has the ability to easily cheat/lie etc and get away with it, and yet they deliberately choose not to do it under any circumstance.

This comment is offensive. Vtubers are not inherently worse than other types of content creators. Plenty of different types of content creators have drama, and do awful things. The only reason you say they commit "atrocities" is because you are not exposed to the Vtuber community, but it is not like this. Imagine another group, such as baseball players. If you, who does not watch baseball, sees a video about a specific player, it's because they did something noteworthy, such as "atrocities". Replace "vtuber" with "baseball player" in your comment and see that it is not accurate.
Vtubers, like anyone else, can be awful people and make terrible mistakes, but this does not mean that that community is solely composed of such people. Like any other community, there are good people and bad people.

Okay genuinely I don't know where you get the BFE from. Rushia is indeed a GFE VTuber, but Mafumafu is never one. He stream games, his merchs are mostly related to his persona (the white haired character with cat ears) or his mascot Mafuteru. A lot of his fans are indeed women, but not because he's pretty or offering that boyfriend experience, most of us are here because he makes good music. What his fans does towards him (like fantasizing Mafu as their boyfriend) is out of his control and is never his intention.

That's why he's an utaite (which literally mean "singer", if I remember well, there is a category "utattemita" in NicoNicoDouga aka the japanese youtube and that's where utaites were born! And that's thx to random uploaders on youtube that I discovered them on my case), a lot of utaites build their community by starting w/ their covers from (mostly) Vocaloid songs and anime songs (like more recently for example Ado and Chogakusei are also utaites).

I haven't followed him recently but from my experiences a big portion of the fans love him like a mother love their son, a lot are adults with sensibility. I wholeheatedly believe if Mafu did not act the way he did, she would be torn to pieces, in a civil manner ofcourse.
