  • The Fujifilm 18-55mm f/2.8-4 isn't just any kit lens, it's a great lens to have in your kit bag.
In this weeks video, we take a look at some of the images captured with the lens on our recent trip to Dubai. I opted to take only one lens with me and this was it. So did it deliver the goods?
    Thanks for watching :)

I sold my 18-55mm to buy the 16-80mm - big mistake - the 16-80mm is the only Fuji lens that I hated - the 16-80mm consistently disappointed - it was very soft all around and the last straw was my sons middle school graduation - I had great afternoon light but the pictures were so bad that I wouldn't share any of them. I sold the 16-80mm the next day and picked up the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 - The Sigma is a great lens and it's constant 2.8 wide open aperture sold me on it. The Sigma is on my X-T4 most of the time now. Great video -Thanks for sharing.

I just bought the 16-80mm Fujifilm lens for my fuji XH2, but I didn’t like it, thought it was pretty soft, not at all the sharpness I expected, a bit on the heavy side too, so I’ve been looking at the 18-55 and after seeing your video with your great photos I’ll be definitely buying it! Great video 😊

What a bummer about the camera malfunctioning on your trip, Gary! But the images you did get are fantastic. I used the 18-55 exclusively for several years when I switched to Fuji and absolutely loved it. Compact, lightweight, but very capable. I'm using the 16-80 now for travel and as my daily carry-around, just because I like the extra reach and the constant aperture. It's worth the weight tradeoff for me.

Hopefully I’ll get a chance to try the 16-80 next year as it seems to be another great lens. Thanks for watching 😁👍

Light, small, the X-T5 + 18 - 55 is also my regular take away for a few weeks and as you say, no regrets. Stunning and sharp

This is good to know because at some stage soon i will be trading in my Canon gear for either the X S20 / 18-55 kit
    Or XT5 /18-55 kit.
This is purely going to be a decision based on weight and what my arthritic hands will be able to cope with. I will initially only have that kit lens so this is very helpful information.

Thanks for your perspectives 👍I can relate to that, for travel and lightweight I run with my X-T20 and the XF 18-55mm, that‘s a „kit“ just under 700gr.. 🙂

I got the 18 to 55mm when I got my xt3 last year. Its amazing to say its a "kit" lens. Really sharp and its on my camera nearly all the time.

I tolerated up to 5 minutes then I had to click on something else. Way too much boring! Kept looking down!
