Hi! Some really nice shots. My take on 18-55 after owning it for 3 years. Good: this lens is best suited for video. Bad: low light performance or indoor use when light is not ideal. I loved this lens until i ve bought xf33 f1.4, i didnt think prime can replace zoom, but whenever i swich to zoom, my shots feels uninspired, "flat", lifeless, compared to 33, i m not sure why exact, but photos with 33 feels special. Though for video i still prefer 18-55. I'd advise you to insert photos or video while you go thru your review. For example show some video footage while you talk about ois, or some shots while you talk about versatility, it would keep video dynamic more interesting. Anyway, thats just my take, wishing you all the best.
@@shotsbymrslow hi mate, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, will take your suggestions on board for sure! Yeah I’ve got the 33mm too and I know exactly the feeling you’re talking about and the “flatness”, that 33 is special.
People can be a bit too liberal at times shooting wide open and relying on shallow depth of field to make every image.. BUT it does have its time and place, I just find I don’t need it when traveling, and I’m more than happy to compromise on that!
I have used this on an XT-5 - the quality of the images is quite good. This lens is not on the list of "compatibility" for the XT-5 however and I do not normally send my Fuji camera images for print.
I haven’t had a chance to try any of the 40mp cameras just yet unfortunately, I’d be curious to see how it fares - I imagine it’ll be more than good enough.
I’ve been shooting in F-Log and then using the free Fuji Eterna LUT and going from there - I can’t say I know what I’m doing but I think I’m getting better?? It’s all practice anyway.
It has to be the best kit lens there is. So much better than anything else I've used
Ah it’s so good, so much better than it needed to be!
Great video. I really liked the sample images and small jokes. The 18-55mm works pretty good for me too.
Thanks very much Tom, really nice of you to say, glad it works just as well for you too!
Much better photo's than most of the other YTers. That is what it is about, not Megapixels, but making meanigful photo's.
It’s very much about the photos, not the megapixels you’re right Nick. And thanks for the lovely words, very kind.

Enjoyed your pics and especially the B&W tones (Fuji recipe?). Thanks for reminding me about the versatility of this lens. Subscribed!
Hey man, thanks so much for the kind words and welcome to the channel! The B&W images are based off Arcos +YE !
Great Lens !! It is a do it all lens . The OIS is a big help.
It really does everything, and the OIS is honestly such a good feature for such an affordable optic.
@@ronan_duff yep, especially because i cant get a clear shot under 1/125th without ois
Bro. Your photos are top class. Keep it up.
Thanks very much Charles, very kind you to say.
For travel I agree 💯. It's small and 2.8-4.0 is perfect. If you're traveling no need to blur out every photo at 1.8. why would anyone do that?

Gorgeous work!
Thanks so much, very kind of you.
Thank you nice review. Have you tried with 40 meg pixel camera and thoughts as to image quality?

@@ronan_duff I have shot it on my XT-5. It’s producing great results.
@@desantisphotography ah there we go! Glad to hear it, thanks for letting us know.
For the videos, did you apply LUTs or just applied the in-camera film simulations? :)

@@ronan_duff Thanks! Can't wait to try it out 😁 It looks amazing 😎
Um, yer awkward.
I like this lens but on 55mm it's too soft for me.
Yeah I'd agree, the 55mm end of things can get quite soft sadly, usable but not the sharpest!
