      Congrats on the purchase of B1B! I have a walk through on my channel that will help you setup as3x and Safe. You will need to increase the bank angles for sure. (80-90 Range).

    Great review. Did you use flaps? If so, what were the settings? And where did the CG finally end up? Thanks in advance!

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  Год назад

      Thanks Phillip! Yes i used full flaps. However now that i got more flights, i use much more than recommended. Im getting my data together for the flight review release later on in the week.

      @@BDTennessee Looking forward to it. At present, I have been flying the Freewing AL37, T33 and the B2 at a fairly small field. We have a 300ft landscape fabric runway. I still have trouble getting the AL37 stopped before the end. I'll be setting up the thrust reverse on the B1B. I'm hoping the B1B is not exceeding my skills.

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  Год назад

      @@philipshelton386 my runway is 330ft. B1B is more docile than i expected.However setup is key and go to be on your toes with wings swept back...

      @@BDTennessee I have a Kyosho Vision micro jet with sweeping wings. My first sweep was up high, full speed and no turns. Trimmed out the nose down on sweep and then mixed up elevator after I landed. I knew, before sweeping, that if things went south to extend the wings. You can't change the center of lift and expect it to keep flying as if you hadn't. I think that type of mentality is causing the swept crashes with this aircraft. Looking forward to your flight review. You make great videos. You give good solid information that I will be counting on for my maiden. :) BTW I'm a full scale pilot.

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  Год назад

      @@philipshelton386 agreed,that much of change you need to expect and compensate beforehand.Pilots will be in trouble much faster and maybe too much resulting in crash. Thanks for the feedback and support!

    It looks like it flies great, but you know I would have set up AS3X and SAFE, especially since it costs $750. You even made a few practice approaches.😎 Did you put an Avian ESC in it or did it come with a thrust-reversing ESC? Nice job other than the hazy video. Thanks.. 👍

    • @Mikeylikesit1968
      @Mikeylikesit1968 Год назад

      It comes with reverse esc

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  Год назад

      Yeah flies great without gyro in low wind. Typically do maiden without AS3X. I normally dont do that many but with a high mah battery giving me more flight time and plenty available figured id shoot some approaches.Could have sat it down multiple times :) Yes video came out with some hazy cause high temp and high humidity (90% range).

    • @txkflier
      @txkflier Год назад +1

      @@BDTennessee Yeah, the second attempt looked pretty good to me. I was wondering if you were monitoring the battery voltage, but it was a larger, better battery than I expected. And, a really good brand. Did you have the transmitter's flight modes and flight mode trims on the flap switch?

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  Год назад +2

      @@txkflier maiden flight i use the LTT with full flaps to adjust elevator.I used some recommended setup for this flight. However after fine tuning i changed around bunch of stuff.
      I have 10 more flights on the plane and have it dialed in. AS3X setup, Flight modes, Wing Sweep Configuration, and some changes with the electronic/battery placement.

  • @nirlachman007
    @nirlachman007 Год назад +1

    Hi Brandon! Do you use the stock gyro or the AS3X instead?

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  Год назад +1

      Bypassed stock gyro. AS3X turned off for this flight. I have it dialed in now after test flights. Settings for plane setup and AS3X Gains included in Flight Review...

    • @nirlachman007
      @nirlachman007 Год назад +1

      @@BDTennessee great! It looks like the stock gyro is very not useful, I see that most of the people just bypass it

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  Год назад

      @@nirlachman007 several things that made me want to bypass. Also i can set exactly how i want across the board going straight to receiver. Keep in mind you bypass aileron,elevator and rudder. Flaps and gear still run through the board.

    PLEASE let us know if you get the reverse thrust working! I have asked nearly everyone who has posted a vid on this plane if they are using it and I get the same comment about plugging it in an open channel. I DOSEN'T WORK. I can't get banana hobbies to respond at all. One guy told me it won't work with Spektrum.

    • @BDTennessee
      @BDTennessee  Год назад

      I have mine setup with reverse thrust. After these 2 initial flights i enabled and tested. Works as usual,plug into open channel and assign switch. However its not effective cause of the amount of vent holes in ducting.
