Christopher O'Grady , I know how you feel. Missing that used cars salesman talent myself to get successful into this business. Shooting perfect images isn’t the point of the story. You must be able to sell yourself, I unfortunately can’t.
Genti Zarari , impossible. You must be born with that. I don’t have one atom of it in my genes 🧬. It’s like Michael Schuhmacher and Willi Weber. One has been driving F1 cars, the other doing an awesome business. I need a business partner like Willi has been to Michael (prior to his tragic skiing accident).
It's fascinating to me how. People who are good at one thing seem to have another missing part. It's like the really good mechanic who can't drive a race car. Or the really smart mathematician who can't teach a college class. Or the number one sales person in a car dealership that no one likes who works there.
I also got the d780 as my main camera for weddings, after selling the d5. Now my wedding set up is d780 with Nikkor 24-70 2.8 and z6 with Tamron 70-200 2.8. The main reason for me was the dual card slot.
I still remember the days when you waited 10 seconds for a camera to boot, and they used too much power to just leave on. I started shooting with a JVC camcorder because it had a great autofocus, and sleep mode. Close screen, sleep, open, take photo. Oh, things have changed. Great video, to the point, love that.
I have been going back and forth over these two cameras for days! I am looking to do a big upgrade from my baby d3500 and this video sealed the deal for me. I have my first TWO weddings this spring and summer and cant wait to upgrade. Thank you so much!
Hmmmm this very helpful you know, i want to compare between canon 80D and 90D for landscape photography just like this, thank you taylor for the video😀
@Man in Dandism There is work going on with sensors and processors to get to the point where crop sensor and micro four thirds cameras have better to even good low light capability, but, then of course the full frame camera sensor and processor combinations will be even better yet. It appears to me that the megapixels and low light capability of the of the D5 and 1Dx Mark II were "good enough" for practical indoor sports use. If crop sensor and even crazy to say micro four thirds with the future mythical OMsystem "WOW" camera can reach that level of low light capability with D500 or dare I say Olympus M1 Mark II level autofocus, with planes, trains, and automobile tracking, with GH5 level video, then that camera. Will. Take. Over. The. World.
Finally a wedding pros perspective! Thanks dude! Nice to hear instead of all the other “reviews” lamenting it being like a z6 therefore may as well buy a z6. Amazing how so many reviewers aren’t actual pro shooters and thus don’t see the real life draw of all day battery life, two card slots, solid low light focusing and the no lag optical viewfinder for those unpredictable wedding day moments that could otherwise be missed on a mirrorless with their EVF and second long wake up time 🤘🏼
@@kennebatch For me, it's more than that. I like to have a natural perspective of a scene before I shoot, and no EVF can beat my eyesight, so an OVF is very important to me.

@@Royalepad Think you may have been unlucky. I've used Nikons all my adult life. The D780 (my latest) seems just fine to me. And the longer I have it, (getting used to it), the better it seems to get!
Since you use a D850 most of the time, I'm curious how you found the autofocus through the viewfinder. Thoughts on AF through the OVF? Also, if you like the 85 f/1.4g, why not use it on the adapter with the Z6?

Have you tried doing a hybrid wedding with the Z 35/85? I’m curious because I’m going this route for an upcoming wedding next month. Too bad the d780 didn’t come out before I needed to switch, I miss having a heavier camera.
Hey, sick editing bro. Keep it up. First comment and first view
I own a D500 and a Z7 and I’m soon to get a Z6 as a dedicated video camera/second body for when I shoot weddings. Would you recommend the D780 over the Z6 ignoring your preference of the OVF over the EVF?
Travis Jarvis I personally want two card slots, so I’d pick the D780. If you’re comfortable with the risk of one card, I’d probably keep investing in Z, since that does look like the future for Nikon
I can’t stand shooting with a mirrorless. I only use my Z6 for video.
Thank Taylor! It was great information, and I have a quick simple question, so how you feel about autofocus system on Nikon d780 today on March 2 2021? Please, please tell your feeling about it.
Thank you.
After release of ZF the only two things that still can drive me towards D780 is battery life and AF motor.
Dammit Taylor, I just bought the D850 because of your recommendations! 😂
No worries Crystal, you still have an excellent camera.
Brian Sullivan oh yeah, I’m still bloody happy. I just had to point it out 😛
Haha the d850 will be a great camera for years. They both have pluses and minuses and honestly I’m happy shooting either of them as a main
@@TaylorJacksonPhoto I use the D810 and I am still confused about which second camera to go for, a D850 or the D780?
Kobby Blay Depends on your needs. Do you shoot video? If you specialize in stills you could even look for a used Df or D4.
I'm thinking of selling my old cameras to get a new one. I actually still have my first camera, a Minolta film camera. Probably won't get much for that one. HaHa
Hi just fund your Chanel I currently own a D850 do you use any of your older lenses on the Z series and if so how do the lenses handle really enjoying EVF Would like try a z but can not afford the new lenses
Yep, I’ve used the 85 1.4G a lot with it, and it’s nice to have every shot 100% in focus with it on the Z. On my 850 they’re always usable with it, just sometimes the focus point is just a bit out
Who is the winner ?
Somehow Can we disable the stupid quality button?
Which lence is good for canon d750?
