  • Rethinking my carrer choices leads me to make videos like this one. I feel like this side of me hasn't been as present in the channel in the past months, because I was in a state of acceptance, but the closer I get to the finishing line, the more I spiral.
    Anyway! I hope you guys enjoy the video!
    I'm sorry for any messy edits, bad audio and awkward breaks in between, my computer is slowly giving up and the editing program and the videos make it crash a lot, so I takes me quite a while to edit these. Hope you can see pass that and enjoy the experience nonetheless!

    I think this feeling of alienation and the senseless nature of our existence brings a sense that maybe we as a society are reaching the limit of how much we can take. Capitalism has made our lives meaningless, making everyone of us feel worthless when our grand aspirations are limited to making someone above us richer in the pursuit of making ourselves richer or at the very least comfortable hoping this will fulfil us eventually. All of this done while our planet dies in the relentless pursuit of profit. We live in a world that can excuse its way through genocide, famine, inequality, war, and poverty for the grand purpose of keeping the rich rich and the poor poor, a world with the labour power to solve its internal issues with ease. The idea of this happening becomes beaten out of you day after day until all you hope for is comfort and security for yourself, something potentially attainable if you get up and work. Yet prices for essential goods rise, and most of us will never be able to own a home begging the question, what is the point? I hope soon enough people become organised in order to stop this nonsense but god do I not want to do it

    America is so lost right now. It's become so unaffordable & dysfunctional. Our country is capable of greatness. Our gov. seems to have zero interest in improving the lives of its citizens. Our cities feel disconnected, soulless, bland, unaffordable, etc. I really don't like the direction modern America has gone. We could do so much better. I love this country. I just want to see things improve. During the 90's I swear everything took pride in who could be the most creative and entertaining. They used creative aesthetic designs, fun styles & embraced a range of things. People had a choice to live in places that were in different conditions, unique qualities, that actually provided a range of prices to the places where people could live. Towns saw the importance of having unique things for people to do & places to go. Poor People, middle class, upper class. There were options for people of all economic ranges ~Nowadays we have universally unaffordable cost of living, rent prices, shop rent prices.. (unless you are wealthy) I don't understand how long we can continue to function in this extremely dysfunctional manner?? I hope things change. People stuck in poverty need places to live too.. it's ridiculous how our current system pretty much requires everyone to be financially well off or you are screwed 👍🏻 It's so realistic jk👍🏻 it's completely impossible for everyone to be financially well off. We need living options. We need places where people of all ranges can live. Ways in which Poor people can live in society without becoming a burden.. Raising wages just continually makes things worse because our country says "it Has no other option but to increase the prices of everything" So why do it? It does nothing but make things worse. We need places people can live even if they make below average $ (look at all the rent prices right now? The same goes for the rent of local small businesses too. It's absurd. I know this because my mom runs a local small business in Oregon. So that's 2 insane rents to pay per month! It's the biggest challenge to afford rent. Profit isn't even a thing. Its can we make it to next month? How stupid is that? What kind of quality of life is that?) This is Modern Day America 👍🏻 and when you look at our government, it doesn't seem like anything is going to be addressed or improved anytime soon.. Maybe multiple generations from now, idk? All i know is vast change needs to be done. I'm tired of neither side of our government doing absolutely nothing and addressing none of the real issues of our time. No aspect of our system is working. It's completely dysfunctional and there's no system that fixes Our system when it fails to function on a deeper level. Hopefully motivated people will come in & help adapt this amazing country so it doesn't collapse in on itself. I don't get how things got like this, it's unacceptable... Our country contains so much potential that's not being utilized at all.. We gotta change that..

    I've never truly fit into this world. I refuse society's masks. I choose the painful route of exposure to the world. If there is to be no comfort in the world for me, so be it. I have lost more than I can express and I know that I will yet lose more. I do not know why I'm saying this in particular but I know it is a compulsion in response to your video. Keep fighting fellow struggler.

      I deeply appreciate what you shared, be it a compulsion or not. That response gives me so much joy and gives me a sense of hope, despite the content of the video! Thank you so much and i appreciate that you took the route of exposure, i feel like that might be the only way, i am trying to do the same! Thanks you once again 🫶🏻

    I remember the days where I was one of the few people in a cafe and I relished the time I got to spend alone, while surrounded by other people. I felt like no one spent time at home anymore and a dining room was a pointless, antiquated space. That was over 20 years ago. I've since turned the dining room into my own private cafe and I will do just about anything to stay home.
    Recently I've realized that playing at parasocial relationships is as close as I want to get to other people.
    I used to believe that people (self included) were obsessed with apocalyptic media because the world had gotten so immediately complicated, and we all really wanted some sort of reset. Now I'm starting to believe the truth is much uglier -- that we know, deep down, there are far too many of us for any one individual to be happy. I don't want bad things to happen to anyone; of course I don't. But what if population overload is the root cause of our combined unhappiness?
    How the hell do you have under 500 subs? This is the most underrated channel on YT.

      u were fed lies , low* birthrates = less ppl around the same age… Gen Z is suffering the consequences of LB rn & its hard for boomers to connect/ understand(empathize)the younger generations problems because we dont have many voices or ppl even who understand whats going on. LB = lack of community & or 1 child households. I do believe economics plays a roll in this , But what im really getting at is The younger digital generation is more isolated than ever , birthrates dropping rapidly & our family structure has become almost impossible to maintain. making ppl seek out social connections via the internet.

    • @TwanBankz
      @TwanBankz 2 месяца назад +1

      our societal structure is being attacked from every angle. Manhood , Nuclear family unit , Marriage, SISTER/BROTHERHOOD platonic relationships/friendships . this all sums up why communities are dead , i mean go outside to 3 rd spaces like parks , movies.. etc nobodies there everybody is stuck inside avoiding socializing

      @@TwanBankz I think now that we can see just how dangerous the entire world can be due to global media, we always feel in peril, even when we're not. Conversely, I think troubled people who wouldn't otherwise feed their violent side feel vindicated and emboldened, which perpetuates the downfall. You sound like you're not getting your own needs met. It may just be a problem with communication. We're all having a problem communicating these days.

    • @CleoHarperReturns
      @CleoHarperReturns 2 месяца назад +1

      @@TwanBankz I think it depends on which country you're in. Lower birthrates are the problem of society, not species. In the US the population is nearing 350 million. In 2000 there were 281 million, and in 1980 there were 227 million. That is a LOT of growth. It's unsustainable.
      I do agree with you about GenZ being most isolated generation yet. Don't get me wrong; I love Millennials and GenZ. I think they're the best generations we've had. But saying that, GenZ is also the most impatient generation we've had. For obvious digital reasons.
      This is an entire world in transition due to the current tech revolution. Which means this is an adjustment period. It means individuals become unhinged, wars break out over territory and resources, governments tie themselves in knots. None of us know what the hell we're doing yet. We're all trying to figure it out -- and we will. Just like we have at several points in the past. Evolving is uncomfortable.
      I may be a boomer (GenX) but I am NOT someone trying to tie this world back to old ways. I'm trying to evolve right along with you. Some of the older generations are being complete assholes, I agree with you 100%. But I consider it the death rattle of a newly irrelevant age. They'll be gone soon enough.
      At the same time, I'm now too old to fight like I used to. I'll support your generations all the way, but it's your turn to do the fighting. Just make sure the fighting you do is something the older you will be proud of down the road. There is nothing more haunting in one's life, than all the mistakes you've made as your body begins to betray you. It's not your good deeds that you'll remember; it's the bad ones. I hate to sound preachy but it's the biggest truth I've ever learned. Good luck, my friend. Good fight.
