Phelps has huge feet and his ankle joints have "hypermobility" (double jointed), so he's a physiological anomaly. Normal people really need to work on that ankle flexion. I'm more conscious now of ankle mobility development when I use my Zoomers. It seems to help more than I expected.

Your making him supernatural when he was beating by a 19 year old by a bodylength , while that kid has neither " double ankle joints" nor "anomaly". Fking weak

I have michael phelps' body but I'm only 5'3 so I'm unable to swim as fast. His advantage is longer arms and torso than usual for his height, shorter legs than usual, and bigger feet than usual, all comparative to his height. I have these features but they are quite useless in a short body sadly lol. I'm not too sure what the main commenter is talking about his ankles but I'm sure it's also helping him

While there have been other great underwater swimmers, nobody has it so well integrated into l/c performances. Quite often turn specialists work it so hard they go into a degree of oxygen debt and their speed suffers towards the end of the race or length; Phelps at his best judged it perfectly.

Phelps’ insane lack of lactic acid and double jointed ankles granting him more ankle mobility has led me to believe that he is simply a biological miracle.

      Lack of lactic acid?

    • @LoneWalkingLearner
      @LoneWalkingLearner Год назад +6

@@joniboi3699 Yeah he was born with some sort of defect or mutation or something that causes his body to develop less lactic acid than the average human, and lactic acid is the fluid responsible for tiring and fatiguing the muscles. Literally meaning his body gets tired slower.

One thing to note, if you ever see bubble coming off your feet when you are folding kicking, your amplitude is too large, you need to stay in the pocket that is created by the tips of your fingers, it’s different when you get higher up in the water because the water is less dense, but other than that there should be no bubbles when dolphin kicking

I always find it funny how people think scientists, doctors or just specualised professionals in general are qualified when it comes to the individual body.
Believe it or not opinion doesn't matter, when it comes to the while slightly but none the less refined body of an Olympic athlete it is an entirely different path from one of logic.
The amount of different stuffs in the body going on at once accumulating to turn a normal person to that of a athlete is just too much to the point anyone special talent is pretty much useless.
I know this is odd considering the best of the best are usually the ones with the best genetics too but where dealing with those who can do the said thing in the perfect most fastest way.
    ....
Ok I'm not even a quarter way through of what I was going to say so I give up.
Explaining why no one but yourself is qualified to train you would just take far too long so bye this was foolish in the first place. The general perspective of someone in todays society is that of someone all knowing after all.
I can only sum it up in a weird manner.
Why or how the tree falls means nothing, what matters is weather it can still be called one.
If you don't get it you missed the point, if you think it's still a tree you read everything I've said here wrong.
If you say the tree is now wood you where destined for nothing your too confined towards logic.
However if you thought the tree a log then good carefuly read my previous words hidden in them be a secret a special method of thought
