T-minus 3 days, time to binge these videos to psychologically train for our first meet this season.
Man... the way you break them down.. i got to understand how everything comes together to make powerful dolphin kicks! You are such a genius!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Let us know what you'd like to see next! Happy Swimming!
Happy swimming!
I appreciate how you explain the physics of swimming. It helps me immensely when I'm trying to improve technique.

Not all heroes were capes
as always great video. Love the correlation between kick direction and muscles involved, great hint to keep in mind while doing it.
This is actually a math lecture on sine graph
Math + swimming = win!
a completely wrong class of math... however great swimming class
@Fares Ksebati - CEO of MySwimPro, I really love math, so I really agree
Wow, you’re an incredible teacher! So much great info in a digestible format.
This is your best video I’ve watched.
Awesome video! I'm gonna use your tips on every single practice from now, because I really want to get better at these dolphin kicks. I understand that they are key in swimming.
Glad you enjoyed it! Let us know how it goes!
These videos are amazing!
My dolphin kick has the same grace as a penguin walk
Great tips thanks.
This is the best video of dolphin kicks
Thank you very much for sharing! It was very helpful, gonna implement these tips into my trainings
Awesome. Keep us posted on your progress!
Happy swimming!!
Great swimming content!
The period is the time it takes for the wave to travel the distance of one wavelength which is the distance from crest to crest or trough to trough which the equation for is lamda = v/f where v is the speed of the wave, lambda is the wavelength, and f is the frequency.
The best video about dolphin kicks
Thanks for watching. Happy swimming!!
Fantastic! Loved this video! Well done!
Great! Glad you are enjoying the Whiteboard Wednesday series!
Thanks for tuning in! Happy swimming!
Brilliant!
thank you so much.
Pools are closed where I live due to Covid restrictions but your videos are helping me do some visualization and plan for when I get back in the water. Either open water or in the pool. Thanks for the great content.
Take care and hope to get you back in the pool soon!
This is an exceptional presentation. Thank you.
Glad you liked it, Barry! Happy swimming :)
Great video and tips. Thank you☺️
Glad it was helpful! Happy swimming!
Easy to understand motion graphics👍
Great explanation. All movement above the centre of mass (head, arms, hands) is reactionary and opposite to the kick direction due to turning moments. This movement is undesirable but cannot be eliminated.
awesome video, enjoy it, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Happy swimming!
What you're calling the period is the wavelength, the period is the amount of time it takes for one wave to pass so that Would he the amount of time for one whole kick but still a good video.
Yes, glad someone posted this. There is no way to change frequency without changing the period (the equation on the board says this). Most of the time when he said "period" he was meaning wavelength.
Also, Berkoff got silver in Seoul. ruclips.net/video/ztDlHwqD7pA/видео.html
Otherwise, great video!
You are VERY good are presenting LOTS of important stuff in a relatively short time!! People only have so much time to watch videos on youtube... "Ain't nobody got time for that!"
Thanks for the support and feedback!
Happy swimming!!
Thank you for the biophysics and history lesson :)
Just doing my civic duty!!
outstanding advise - thank you
Glad you enjoyed it! Happy Swimming!

Que opinas de patadas verticales con una aleta en un pie y otro no,?o es mejor usar siempre las dos o ninguna ?
Awesome whiteboard skills! 👏👏👏👏
From a teacher
Glad you think so! Happy Swimming!
too much talk, i have to skip a lot
Can you guys do a ‘perfect breastroke’ technique tutorial please. There are others available, but not in the detail that you guys explain stuff. That would be very helpful to me. Well.....you might as well do the back & butterfly as well. I really enjoyed your front crawl vid. Thanks a lot, you explain the science of swimming brilliantly.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍👍👍
Stay tuned! It'll be coming soon! Happy Swimming!
I've been swimming for 9 years and this is very interesting
Glad we could help!
Awesome! Happy swimming!!
Awesome video...I learned so much. Two questions: first, I'm working on breath control but can't yet make it the full length of the pool. What's the best way to take a breath when practicing underwater dolphin kick? Also, I have a really hard time staying UNDER the water and tend to float right to the top...any tips on that? Thank you and keep up the great work!
The best way to take a breath while swimming underwater dolphin kick is to come up to the surface and take a freestyle stroke, breathe and then dive back under to continue kicking!
When you're underwater, do you exhale? Keeping a steady exhale, along with enough forward momentum, will help you stay underwater.
It makes sense. My goal is to be able to do an IM but I will be teaching myself butterfly. Back and breast is weak but I can do it. Fingers crossed!
You've got this, Teresa! Check out our video on butterfly for beginners: ruclips.net/video/EU7Hyo_oy2k/видео.html
Dude is like the athleanx of swimming
😎
Hi , Can you do a video tips for competition . My daughter is having a competition in 1 week .
Unless you are a backstroke swimmer, you swap the terms of downward kick and upward kick.
How would you suggest breaking down dolphin kick in a way that 5-8 year olds would understand it? I'm trying to teach my swimmers how to do dolphin kick properly but I'm not sure how to communicate it.
I wandered if dolphin kicking on the side would be more streamlined? Lower surface area and drag and all the have to do is a slight turn and the are on their front claw.
Nice video - I'd add vertical kicking. I've started doing more vertical kicking and found that it is the best way for me to work both ends of the kick. It also seems like the best way to really feel where my weak points are due to having the water surface as a reference.
Vertical kicking is a fantastic way to engage the body's core for dolphin kick. It's not listed in the video, but definitely a good one!
that's something I wanted to do but my pool is too shallow for that. ¬¬'
What is vertical kicking
What should I do if I have too much flexibility
E'fish'ent great vid btw
I think I need a real slow motion of the "upkick" and "downkick" please. Not both in combo. 😅 I can't pick apart and does the expression "up" and "down" change if on front or back?
Good information. (Btw, Berkoff didn't win the 100 back in 1988.)
I’m trying to learn the butterfly it’s so hard
Love the videos, if possible try to get some acoustic panels in your studio to help with audio!
Thanks - going to get a wireless mic. Stay tuned for some sound improvements in a few episodes!
Chuck on your fins and GO FOR IT 😁😁😁🤩🤩🤩
I'm mentally and physically training for a 500m swim

I find this the hardest to master 😂
ankel~
I have a problem. I do pretty good dolphin kicks when my arms are not connected. When I connect my arms I feel like I don't move and I feel very uncomfortable. I don't know what's the problem, but I guess It could be my unflexibility. I'm really unflexible, espesially my arms. I worked half a year. I couldn't reach my toes, now my I'm much more flexible, but my upper body is still unflexible. If the problem is really my unflexibility, then maybe you could give me some advices on what exercises I could do to gain more flexibility, that I would be able to do proper dolphin kicks. If the problem isn't my unflexibility, then maybe you can tell me the problem and give some information how to solve it. Thanks.
Yea I have the same issue has you lol
Sun yang had proven that there is no point doing dolphin kick more than 2 times after 300m. Only use it for start and finishing if you are doing 800m or more.
I’ve got a question. During my 50 free sprint, My legs have started to cross over when I sprint. (This has not happened Before) is there a way I could fix this because it is slowing me down a lot
It’s tough having the cross over kick when you sprint
Can you redo this video with better sound?
Wow this guy looks so young
What do the fastest animals underwater have to do with improving my underwater dolphin kick?
Hello There Because by adjusting our technique to the one of faster swimmers than us we can improve our speed. Fish swim faster than humans, therefore if humans do what fish do underwater, they will swim faster
Swim like a fish 🐠
How young can this training start? Can a child do it?
Yes, this skill can be developed as soon as someone is confident in the water.
1:30 9km per second?
9km per hour!
bruh
Hi,, why when I do dolphin kicks it takes me deeper and deeper, is that normal?
Hi there! Make sure you're aware of your streamline - your body will follow your hands!
Your lessons are excellent! I haven’t had access to a swimming pool for a while. However, I will apply your lessons when I find a suitable swimming pool in my area. I use to swim up to a mile non-stop but I want to be a more efficient swimmer with less stress on the body and better breath control. You break down the science behind swimming very well and everyone can understand what you’re conveying. Keep up the good work! And Thanks!
Daichi Suzuki actually won the Olympic Gold Medal in 1988 Olympics. Berkhoff took silver never won an individual gold. Berkhoff was a great swimmer and definitely gets credit for making underwater kick popular but he wasn't the first to do it. I saw a swimmer from New Zealand doing it as far back as 1978.
Video shown by Fares is actually from the heat - Berkhoff did win that heat and beat the WR (in the heat he stayed under water much longer than Suzuki and much ahead, in the final he went out just a bit after Suzuki being on par with him. It was actually Murphy from CAN who was the last one out of the water - albeit not benefiting from it too much being only 6th).

I think you meant "Ankle" mobility.
Jesús Loves you all so much ❤
ankle is spelled a.n.k.l.e not 'ankel' lmao
Nice catch. We'll try to proof read better before we start filming :)
Hi teacher please replace my swim coach
David Berkoff got silver, just sayin
Dolphin kick day!
A Dolphin is not a fish. The motion we mimic with the dolphin kick is actually dorso-ventral, which is characteristic to mammals, while fish swim moving their bodies sideways
Cool.
People can bend their backs (back bends)
We were all fish at one point
9km/s = 2.5m/s
1:29
Hence; butt > head - wave analysis. Extend - legs / arms. I designed, a camera - as a torpedo / rocket. Yup, on the nett. Hence; a fish - straight as - a side! Analog - cannot be such. An=never. Hammer head sharrk, is a real - free styler. Y'Ler' - This isn't, your house.
The burst speeds of those fishes are mostly exaggerations.
💯
مين الي مش فاهم ولا كلمة من الكائن ده زي حلاتي كده😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
سباحة السعيدة
1:29, 9 km/s ???
Yeah typo hopefully lmao
You should have included a Dolphin in the stats.
I wish I were a fish.
Right there with ya 😜
The only reason that human can do a under 20 sec 50 meters, is because, they jump into the water from a good height...
Using physics formulas for time doesn't show us the physics of a dolphin kick
Um, If you can, correct the spelling of "ankle" you have "ankel". :) No big dea.
Well we have conquerd the sea(micheal phelps) ,land(usain bolt) and now we need to conquer the skies oh ya we did planes duhhh! XD
I wish that you didn't try to sound siency....
Слишком много болтовни!
Clearly doesn't understand what a period is. If you change your frequency, you change your period. If you don't change your frequency, you don't change your period.
fx=dx V:[largest > smallest] cannot divide. I.e. prices u proven tech. Lambda - freqsz. Hence; measures Varsz - of fx=dx. That side sht, is my fav - not always. They got - the 3 points! dx=4(3), dx=3(2), dx=2 stays 2. Hence; we produce-- the weakest swell - freqs. Hence; streamed finsz - vs flex forces < gaps - Varsz. Need more energy.
