@@Rory626 yeah, you mess up the timing and you are a lot slower. You kick too early and you won’t go as far because you aren’t in an aerodynamic position

To me, this one uses low energy and you get a pretty good output.
It gets physically demanding once you hit the 100 m mark of a 200 m

Another tip to avoid slowing down on the shoot forward is to time your kick to the shoot. You should be kicking practically immediately after you hit the waters surface . Pull, breath, shoot, kick, glide.
I usually break down to 3 steps, pull-kick-glide, then repeat

I have the opposite problem
Why aren't the fingers held fully together & in a slight scoop in the pull back for more of a paddle?
The same reason why boat oars are not curved - you're decreasing the surface area of your hand by scooping your hands!
What has helped me with my breaststroke is using a swimming snorkel. I use it as a training device and dive down and move like a dolphin 🐬 through the water. It helps you breathe better and its a fun addiction to training!
I was thinking of doing this only because I find it so peaceful under the water

@@akon6074hi! I'm a swimmer and I can show you how to master the Breaststroke. So technically, breaststroke is mostly the hardest stroke to learn. So, it is like put your elbows together with your ribs, and then push it forward. When you start to form your armpull, kick the breaststroke kick. To do the kick, put your legs near your butt then push them to the side then back. Keep swimming!

I feel like my kick is so slow, and it''s not comfortable. Did your feet kick behind or just close your thigh fast?
From the top you go from wide to narrow while pushing water with your feet, so it’s both. and that’s why you flex your feet when you kick like it says in the video.

The forward movement comes from squeezing your legs together - keep them straight and bring them together as strongly as you can :)

No no no your kick is not to boost your hands forward, that is just inefficiency. Your kick is to maximize your gliding speed. The people in the video are not doing that either.
