It helps a lot. Thank you. 😊 I learned freestyle at school, but never practiced it since then. In October at 43 years I will take freestyle swimming lessons for adults again. Hope it will be fun and successful. Greetings from Bavaria
OMG. You have the best step by step explanations ever. It really opens my eyes. Most RUclips instructions and explanations are very vague on these little things. Everyone knows that BR is the most challenging stroke. Thank you.
Hello and thank you! Yes, the majority of people swim breaststroke and do it absolutely wrong 😊. I am a woman who was taught in my 30-s by a professional. It was funny how my trainer shouted at me: "do not caress that water, pull it!", "feet together after the kick!" Yes, it is difficult at first to remember everything. It is like driving a car, but your brain processes it eventually.
I started swimming at 11 years old at school in the 1960s had a coach was in the school team .Very different then .I still swim now breastroke is my main stroke .My backstroke ok but my free style not 100% .I have osteoarthritis in both knees so difficult now im nearly 67 years old .
Thank you so much Swim Up for your tutorial. When the life guards at pool noticed my breast stroke technique improve, I shouted out SWIM UP tutorial on RUclips. I'm now gliding in the water.

less than 1% of the people who swim this stroke actually swim it properly the majority turn it into a glorified doggie paddle My issue with this stroke is: I cant get the kick right
@@nuffzed2001 glorified doggy paddle? 😂 this is so funny. i love doggie paddling it tires you the most, gives you the most exercise in small swimming pools 😂 muscles work like crazy lmao
Thank you for the wonderful video! I love breaststroke! I have tried to keep the kicks narrow ever since I learned how to not pull my knees forward. I would very much appreciate a video on how to make sure the kicks are horizontal. When I do kick drill in streamline, I can feel that the kicks are more horizontal but bringing that over to swimming full stroke is still very challenging, especially right after the arm pull when the body rises up.
Oh my gosh I’ve been doing it wrong. I kept wondering why my head would not come out as high as the videos I watch of RUclips. I now see why. Thank you for this video. Can’t wait to try this in a few hours when I hit the pool
It's good to see that you're back, especially with this very informative video. Hope more content is coming from you guys! :) I like breaststroke, but found it one of the most energy-consuming stroke. One question I have: what's your opinion about stroke rate? Is it worth to do it faster, or is it better to glide more?
Thank you for your comment Peter! I recommend to count your arm strokes when swimming and aim to decrease amount of arm strokes. Also, it is important to remember that you do not need to glide too much :)
0:31 catch water ...little wider than shoulder width, fingers direct to the bottom 1:14 too long arm strokes increase water resist.(ensure arms don't go farther than shoulder) 2:26 kick drill
My coach asks me to join my knees before kicking and to open my legs wide for kicking. He haven't mentioned about anke twist while kicking and gliding. Thank you so much bro, for teaching all these.
Breaststroke is so tricky. I can swim other 3 strokes perfectly. But I struggle with breaststroke. Plz upload detailed video how to correct our mistakes
I'm the opposite. I can swim breastroke properly but struggling with freestyle. But my son can swim freestyle and backstroke easily but not good in breastroke.
Really liked this video that was very clear and good exercises. I have struggles with the kick and don't get enough force, great tutorial thank you for the tutorial ☺️🙏 something that could be added is the sequence, pull, kick and glide ☺️
I'm just figuring out breaststroke, and struggling with the kick quite a bit. It's like I do not simply generate enough power with my kick to propel myself forward. Right now, I'm working exclusively on the kick with kickboard on front, and although technique-wise I figured out the steps for a good kick, there is just not enough force out of my kicks. Maybe some specific dryland leg strengthening is needed.
Thank you for your comment! You need to raise your back during the arm stroke and bring your hands together in front of your chest. It should help to raise from the water :)
Breaststroke might be technically very hard go learn/master but it is so much easier regarding the breathing, which is, imho, the hardest part. I can easily swim 1-2h non stop breaststroke but I can barely do it, when swimming freestyle.
For me it's not so much that the breaststroke technique is easier, it's that it feels easier and less claustrophobic to breathe during a breaststroke than a front crawl.
I must say watching your videos has helped me improve my breastroke as a new swimmer. I now feel confident to swim at the deep end knowing my stroke is abit more efficient
I struggle with many things on the breastroke, but one of them is how much do i need to breathe in? I notice the more i breathe in, the more i exhale, i get tired fast.
The thing is, when I turn my feet out, my legs are completely apart from each other. One leg is to my butt, while the other is not even to my butt yet. And I can’t look back to see my position, which is the hard part, because I don’t know if I’m doing it right or not.

Awesome trick
What smart watch is good for swimming pools?
I like this stroke because you get a breath every stroke..but my back hurts sometimes if I do too much breaststroke. Why is my back hurting?
I have the same... It's because we have a weak core. We must train a lot on land to be effective in the water.
I don’t have problem with back, but have with legs-getting tired from kicking
I am curious why hands are downwards and his elbows are over the shoulders towards the chest. Isnt that creating drag?
Thank you verygood i like it
Great tips!

I find backstroke with frog kick most comfortable, breaatstroke a little faster and freestyle still the hardest

Thank you for your comment! You need to raise your back during the arm stroke and bring your hands together in front of your chest. It should help to raise from the water :)
