best weapon in niflheim is the Flail called Frostspyta btw. in fact theres literally no reason to use any other one except maybe the divine spear with extra reach but still pointless when you can 1 shot bosses with frostspyta.
To not have rations or not being able to run with nidgogg is really frustrating. Had the long sword with 25 critical chance and it was no different having any other weapon. I've never had to set the settings but to get through this mundane grind I may. I'm so done with this dlc
Its actually pretty easy if you look at the simple patterns the bosses use i did it on the second try though hel is still pretty hard but the dragon and the king boss are pretty straight forward
i just realized if while you’re at Orin’s Camp if you run all the way to the back past Thor it gives you the option to “Wake Up” and it brings you back to Ravensthorpe. i wish i knew it earlier, such a relief to be back. Never doing that shit again. lol
WTF, This Odin play trough thing feels too much. U have to survive with no rations trough the mini soldier camps and fight the "Hel" boss with what ever HP u got left from them. I mean i have gotten a way with every single fight so far, that i havent had to take too much note of the so called "special abilities". but with just simply dodging and hitting the block button. I guess i have to read the notes... but it feels like Too much. not a huge fan of magic... im all about the swords and shields :). Last time i went to fight the pig i had 12 hp :)...
@@glox7728 to fight a dragon just use explosive trap and upgrade to the max (level 3) and upgrade adrenaline slot at least to the 2, the best is 4, also use only hunter bow, and with this strategy you can finish him in 4-5 min, I have hard time with soldiers of helheim even final boss is not that hard, but man helhaim and no healings option is really hard especially when you need to use their gear but you can’t see them and they activate after u took that gear and you can’t run or hide.

Do I have to do the entire mission with no stops? I HATE missions that don't give me a save point. How many Boss fights are there? Ugh, how much time do they think people have. I spent an hour the first time through and then got killed by the Fire Giant thing which I had never seen before. You should have at least gotten a save point even if it's only a auto save.
I figured it out. You have to accept that you're going to get killed at least 2-3 times before figuring the missions out. You need to keep, at Odin's table, the Red Sword that starts with S, can't remember the name, and save up enough "Dreams"/experience to get the health regeneration armor/perk from the table before you go in. I made it to Hel finally, after about 9-10 deaths, and I literally didn't lose any health. I kept hitting her and restoring my health with attacks.

When you buy the "Scroll of Memories" they can only be used with the merchant or at the skill tree when you are at Odins Camp. So you can buy them during your run but can only spend them at the camp when you die or "abandon run" which can be accessed on the Inventory screen

SCREW THIS SHITE!!!! I beat Eldin Ring, and this DLC makes that game look like childs play! Most difficult, over the top frustrating, unbalanced and unfair thing I ever tried. I just walked off and went back to the base game after 50+ hrs of getting nowhere. Accept closer to a stress related heart attack. Devs shoot get an ass beating for making something like this. Gives impossible a new meaning! You work your arse off and for what? To start all over with nothing. I have every setting in the options set to as easy as I can get it, and I get annihilated immediately in this DLC. I wish there was a god mode cheat. This DLC is made for game pros who win 1st prize at world events. People who have skills that borderline on supernatural. That's just not me.

You actually have to learn it quite a bit and farm a lot of things. Decided to continue the story and go back grinding after a while, if i feel like being on the edge again :)
Use thors hammer Mjlonir and spam the shock attacks. Theres some runes that add shock to multiples ennemies nearby and also the dragon 4 feets can take shock damage over time. you can hit one of his foot and the shock can transfer to the other one near , also works with fire ! Using this, i managed to kill the dragon on my 1st try
I just started playing this last night. Expected a save point and an hour later got killed by the fire giant who I'd never seen before. Then realized I had to do the WHOLE THING over again. Not happy. I actually never played the "River Raid" missions again after doing 3 bases and then getting killed and losing all my stuff. If you don't need a save, it's too easy. If you don't get a save and you die, you've wasted your time. I'm playing on "Hard", so the idea that I can't even save my progress is even more lame than the River Raid missions where you can at least go back to base and store your silver.

This is basically just a survival quest. I beat Hel and thought it was over. Nope. You enter an actual hot hell where you need to hury TF up before you burn up. I burned up and got catapulted back to the very start 😂😂🙄

Supposed to be a roguelike sort of mode that is repeatable, with new perks on abilities you've used during the normal game, so it's not "everything is reset". It gives players the opportunity to use builds and weapons they normally don't, since it's quite the investment in the base game to upgrade new sets of gear to play with. I never used 3/4ths of the ability pool in my normal playthrough, but in this mode you HAVE to in ways that you'll have never used in base game. Abilities you used before can now do new things that they can't do normally. No two runs of mine have been the same and progression is quick enough for the story to make subsequent runs have new story to see. It's supposed to make the player reevaluate their playstyle for a new challenge, handing you legendary weapons and powerful runes you've never seen before. Has its own skill tree, new effects on old abilities, new rewards, new cosmetics. You still keep everything you already had before, but the point of this mode is using new things and breaking out of the mold most people set themselves in during the course of the game. Also there's a vendor outside this new mode that sells a pretty cool looking death yarl set, a fire wolf mount skin, a bird skin, and some other things like settlement decorations. You'll lose out on some easy rewards. "This game is bad because I don't understand the content and am unwilling to try it"

Being stuck in hel where you continuously die over and over but never actually die, and the fact he’s doing it to try and bring his son back, also anytime they bring thor back into the story I find it cool. All around I think it’s really dope, and it was free so not like you had to pay for something that you ended up not liking!

If you can get a light bow, and incendiary* trap ability works for me everytime
Shoot as many arrows as possible and use the fire* every chance you get, in between you can get in close and deal some heavy damage with melee
