Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the twelfth major installment and the twenty-second release in the Assassin's Creed series, and a successor to 2018's Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Set in the 9th century, the player controls Eivor, a Viking raider and Assassin during the Viking invasion of Britain. The game is scheduled for release in late 2020 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia, and is to be Ubisoft's launch title for the next-generation consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
In Valhalla, the player takes on the role of Eivor, a Viking raider who leads their fellow Vikings from Norway in raids and battles against King Aelfred and the four Anglo-Saxon medieval kingdoms of England - Wessex, Northumbria, East Anglia, and Mercia - near the end of the 9th century as part of the Viking invasion of Britain. Additionally, the game will continue to tie into the modern-day events related Abstergo Industries' researcher Layla Hassan, who was featured in both Origins and Odyssey, and to the Templars and Assassins that have tied the series together.
Players will have the choice of playing Eivor as either male or female and are further able to select their hair, warpaint, clothing and armor. Combat has been changed to allow dual wielding of almost any weapon. The "Eagle Eye" mechanics are also expected to return in the form of a raven that will be Eivor's animal companion in the game. The player can use the raven to scout the nearby areas as previous avian companions had done in Origins and Odyssey. The game will rely less on a traditional leveling system and instead focus more on the selection of skills through skill trees selected by the player as Eivor advances through the game. Enemies will be rated based on the collection of skills. The skills trees will be similar to those found in The Witcher, Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Player choices through conversation or gameplay options will have impacts on the characters and their political alliances with other non-player characters.
A central feature of the game is the settlement that the player, as Eivor, will help build and lead during the game. Ismail described its importance as "a lot of what you're doing in the game world is, at the end of the day, going to feed into the settlement so that it can grow, it can flourish." The player will be able to direct construction of certain types of buildings which in turn provide benefits for gameplay. To build these structures, the player will need to lead the vikings on raids to collect resources. Naval combat will return, though more as a means of faster medium for travel for performing such raids, and for escaping after land combat, rather than in engagement with other naval vessels.
Valhalla is a single player game, but will include online components for the purpose of encouraging players to share their progress and creativity.

The Thegns set is another Bear set in AC Valhalla, and one of the few sets that I'd recommend using the full set bonus on. This set will allow you to be an a tanky crit machine. Pair this with fast weapons and enemies won't stand a chance. My other favorite armor is the mentors set, which is more assassin oriented. But if you want pure survivability and damage output. Get this set and then stack attack and crit up runes.
Love the fact they put something in for crit chance and damage, haven't got it all yet, only just got my 3rd hidden ones piece, only put 11 hours in so far and just got to england, love the idea of having sets for the stealth approach, ranged approach and melee approach, regardless of what "fans" say, as a true fan of the original games, I'm enjoying it so far, even if its hard to imagine a viking being an assassin 🤣
@@SYOTOS1807 the thing is vikings might have had "assassins" not all vikings in real life were berserkers some of them were scouts some might have been assassins...we don't know 100%

This game gave me an ocd problem, every time I see a viewpoint, new city, ingot, or gear, I force myself to do it, I’m squeezing as much as humanely possible out of the game before doing story mode.

I’ve always done this for every single open world game. I have to complete all side missions/collect things in the surrounding area before starting main mission. I’m at 69hrs and have only cleared the middle 5 areas/alliances lol
Actually, you don't have to swim back. You can open the map and fast travel to one of your fast travel spots.

I really like videos like these. A lot of games that deal with upgrades only give you the best set near the end of the game where there is not much left to do and when you look back at how you played the game you spent most of the game with inferior upgrades. It’s great how this game says you can get the best upgrades from the get go...if you can.
After you collect this set you also get a 'Fine' and 'Superior' version to equip to your Jomsviking. Pretty cool! Hopefully those sets become available to Eivor as well when/if they add transmog into the game.

Armor set bonuses apply to your longboat Lieutenant. Equip them in a full set of armor they get the bonus from it with an icon indicated above their head for the Set bonus of that armor.

if anyone farmed thors armor early the cloak goes really well with it, and you can transmog the helm to thors if you want it looks really good. i use this cloak and the helm transmoged to thors to get the two set bonuses and add the critical ignite to the blacksmith hammer to make use of its really high base crit and the added crit chance from parry (thanks to thegn) so stun+fire

I would also highly, highly look at the brigandine armor set. Mine isnt even fully upgraded and the armor on the chest is 41 plus if your fighting two or more enemies it increases your armor and with a full set it permanently increases melee damage. It also looks nice with dark blue, gold and silver with a little bit of brown
yes i agree i have the entire set mythic its amazing because you will always be surrounded by more then 2 enemies also double spears will due the job
I don't think those are permanent increases. When it says additional increase I'm pretty sure it gets applied to the first perk. So like with the brigandine armor, if you're fighting just 1 or 2 enemies you will not be getting increased melee damage.
@@brandong.1337 the increased armor you only get with 2 or more enemies but the increased melee damage is permanent as long as you have 5 peices equipped. I have noticed a difference in damage
@@SubaruWRC1996 you can look at the weapon details and it says both perks only work with more than two enemies like 2.4 melee damage for 3 enemies, then 7.3 for 4, then 25 melee damage for 5 or more enemies
@@SubaruWRC1996 Then some of the "additional increase" perks on armors work differently. On the Draugr set, which is what I've been using, the "additional increase to speed +7 and stun +30" only happens when the first perk activates from hitting poisoned enemy (stats page confirms this, and after buff ends stats go back down). On the other hand, the Valkyrie set shows my attack stat on weapons increase passively, but the armor stat only increases after using Dive of the Valkyries. These are likely bugs or ui glitches though, wouldn't make much sense for them to be passive and refer to them as additional.

I'm only level 29 and so far I'm down to the helm. I gained some power exploring the map getting to some of the locations btw also. Had no problem assassinating the big guy and I'm actually in the middle of assassinating the rest of the camp enough to loot the rest of it. Excellent guide bro.

I followed your steps & accomplished getting the complete Thegn armor so very thankful 🤝🏾. It's one of the best looking, but game mechanics wise the Celtic & Druidic seems much better. I'm going to mix up the Duidic & Celtic with the Theign to get the best perk outcome & see how I do

For me it just feels like i'm playing a spin off witcher game, so many things as been almost copied from the witcher games.
@@justsomeguywithamask1720 first of all I will never understand why people disliked odyssey so much I really enjoyed it, and I’ve played all ac creeds to completion, 100% sync a few, but at least played wellllll into the endgame in every one. So I’m not a newb to the ac world. Also odyssey isnt knights dingus. If you want knights it’s the same time frame as Valhalla just would be a Saxon not a Dane.
The einharj set is pretty good for low lvls. You heal after every 3 kills making it great during raids and any assault but im gonna switch to this thegn gear because i want another useful set. Ill probably go for excalibur once i get this set

Bro! You can completely rid yourself of all fall damage by doing a heavy melee slam attack right before you land. No matter the height you'll never take fall damage. Best trick ever. I jump off the world at this point.!
You can also open your inventory before you hit the ground and that will cancel fall damage

I did enjoy the variety of odyssey, but what I appreciate about this game is it doesn’t take six years of grinding to get what you want. It literally took me two days to get the helm I wanted in odyssey. Brawler helm.
Agree Odyssey was upgrade over Origins but at the same time i never finished it because it was so over whelming with quest and gear. I feel like the toned this game back for the best. To much of anything can be bad.
It Would be nice if we could alternate between less upgraded gear skins, just like we can do with our Lieutenant/Jomsviking, since we cannot choose the skin like in Odyssey.
I prefer Thegn's Flawless color set, than the Mythical one...

Same. I'm 54h in, PL 140-150 and i'm still using the Berserker armor with Greatsword in Mainhand and Fafnirs Fang in the offhand

Tag, if you spam heavy attack when jumping it will trigger heavy attack landing and you won’t take fall damage
You get to a level where you don't take fall damage so he probably doesn't take fall damage anyways
@@ethanmercer5586 u still do take fall damage but it’s significantly reduced compared to without the break fall skill I almost died the other with the skill cuz I jumped from very high building

I have a question on the weapons I see you using, as I really love to use dual daggers.
What are the best daggers in the game? Wouldn't the Yngling Seax actually be better than the Huldufolk Blade?
I'd like to know this too. Currently using Huldufolk's Blade & Suttungr's Claw and they absolutely melt most enemies but if there's an even better combo that'd be great
Suttungers claw is easily the best. Any other dagger will be good. Compliment it with a good skill. Hammer is the next best option. Hammer and dagger combo is just as OP
I'm loving the duel wield daggers. I might try a dagger and two handed sword. I'll have longer range with a good amount of force and use daggwr in left hand for speed as well

2:45 incase people have trouble with this part: I hid in the brush on the other side of the building spammed the "whistle" call. When the one guarding the door and the other near by investigated I climbed over the house and grabbed the chest. I did get seen on the way out but still escaped without getting hit. Did it all at power 48
