I wish there was a skill to switch between bows without going into the menu, like the dual wield swap perk but bows.
Yea it’s sad that it was in origins but not Valhalla
Origins had that on point and the flexibility to do so really made gameplay feel dynamic.
It was like having a semi, full auto, and sniper all at once.
sometimes you can pause during battle and swap them , thats what ive been doing even in a boss fight
Yes!
@@tylercroysdale6499 Origins is probably my favorite installment of AC....and I have played every single one except for Rogue.
Did this as well but noticed two things:
1. The fog resets after a while if you havent put points in the tree. At least on ps4
2. This only matters in the early game, because in the mod to late game you will have everything unlocked anyways. SPOILERS: there is no dedicated build in ac valhalla. You can have everything and just swap all skills out as you need them. Kinda boring to be honest from an rpg perspective. Kinda awesome from an unbeatable hero viking perspective.
Same with x1
Don’t just don’t !!
Great tip, I personally like the fog, it makes you use what you have until you progress, and it kind of feels like a reward to hatch new skills by adding a few points at a time.
its more organic, thats how im playing it at the moment and its far more rewarding and enjoyable when you do find a good node/skill, i end up using and thinking about how i can use it more in a given situation..
I disagree, I see it as just busy work for no real reason. It just makes trying to plan out your build in order to play how you want harder.
They did something similar to “Final Fantasy 12”. Which was just dumb. They wanted you to make your own build but there was no way to because you couldn’t tell what was what until you got there.
This is no where as bad as that but I think you’ll understand where I’m coming from with that example.
They have the fog of war sort of say because they want you to be surprised in what skills are next and progress without knowing but if you're someone that has to know the end path right away they give you that option which is pretty awesome
Underrated comment. A lot of people don't pick up on this. It was thoughtful of the devs because they get hate from people that get overwhelmed and hate from those that feel like it's too simple. So they gave the option for the best of both worlds. Love these guys. ❤❤
By around power level 200 you get every major node anyways, then you just start colouring in the prefered weapon type and armour passives.
Right? To respec on odyssey when I got bored with a play style would require a shit ton of loot farming out at sea. This one I get bored and want to switch, I got one weapon to upgrade maybe two and typically have everything I need from exploring as I go.
That's exactly what I was thinking while watching that.
At about 300 there weren't even any more melee related skills to learn. Lol. Im just bringing stealth and bow up to full power at this point, but my melee can't get any stronger.
I enjoy the fog over the skill tree, what i dont like much (not in this video) is some people trying to tell you that if you dont min/max youre build with this armour and these weapon along with those skills im gonna be somehow at a massive disadvantage or something, im playing on max difficulty for everything and while yes its a challange, ive never once felt that a min/max build would of helped me more in a situation i just play to my current strengths and try avoid my weaknesses.. the only thing that bugged me at first was i had to spec into way of the bear while building my guy for the way of the raven gear set.. although the game gives out skill points like candy so its not really an issue..
Imo, game is to EASY to even make the skill tree a necessity. Its just a game breaking bonus in some cases.
The major nodes are visible anyway. I aimed for all stamina slots and health. Also focused on Raven w one armour set. By 120 i was wiping out 190 enemies and had to put the difficulty level to the highest. If you follow the story no real need i can see to reset
This skill tree is a solid nod to the Shere Grid from FF10. I personally rly enjoy it
Ah the good ol days of FF10 :)
Haha agreed and I think they did it this way for different play styles gives you an option for strictly stealth, combat, range or all arounder. The ff10 remastered was cool as far as them allowing you to break rules with characters sphere grids. I made tidus a freaking black mage and such lol
I hope they do not "patch" something that is a feature and makes the game more accessible and thus more enjoyable for casual gamers. I really don't have time to research every node, I like that I can reset and adapt my skills and also see where they will go. Casual gamers don't really care to un-fog the skill tree, and it's a bonus for those who do want to take the time to do it.
This entire game while it is very good is also a casual gamer experience. There isn't a more casual friendly game. Still a great game but it's accessable to a 5 year old. It's not like souls or something of that nature.
Imo the only good thing about the skills tree is being able to reset at any time
Thanks really good advice I just spent 20 min looking it over and what you said makes sense I unlocked the adrenaline slots first and then I filled up my wolf tree because I’m running wolf gear mythical. So it makes total since off course I had to unlock the heavy dual wield lol !!! Your right they will patch that in the next patch!!!
Lol
Idk why but I love this skill tree way better than the other ones, It's extremely familiar too Skyrim's skill tree
This was the first thing I did when I found out I could respec. Lol
I'm already at 273 PL right now,i already got every single skill within the trees, all that's left are the minor nodes,so yeah I'm good lol
he fog isn't a problem, its better because you're not overwhelmed by the clutter but by the time you hit level 90 you're probably already revealing the fog anyway.
The thing that shocked me most about the ability system is how most of the actual abilities at the center of each tree should be either a free given ability, or the 1st tier ability. Attacking out of a sprint as the trees “big” upgrade. Uh wut? Lol. Still loving everything else about the game though.
But if you clear the fog and then respec, once you exit out of the skill menu and going back in, the fog is back
there is a problem with this tho.once you close the game and start it back up (like you take sleep pauses etc) all the nodes uncovered gets covered back again if you havent unlocked the path to it via investment (otherwise i would have the tree uncovered and not having bookmarked the images of how it really is)
A 5 second google search brought up a complete map of the skill tree... so yea.. waste time "defogging" the skill tree, or spend 5 seconds on google typing "Assassins creed valhalla skill tree"
As others are saying, I think it's a good way of not overwhelming new players, but by around power level 50, it should just unlock fully, that was around the point I got interested in looking at what paths to commit down to, and it was actually a hassle and less fun not knowing which skill paths suck that you want to avoid skilling... resetting... Skilling... Resetting 🙄 and once you close the game and open next, its foggy again 😒
You're absolutely right, but I think at this point there is a fair number of seasoned RPG people out there who may want to know what they're getting themselves into, myself included. I'm not sitting here trying to crunch numbers and min/max, but I want to know that I'm not wasting my time allocating point, and since they're giving us the option to respec for free I'm definitely going to take advantage of that. There's no right or wrong answer in this situation, just information that players can choose to use, or not! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, it means a lot that people go out of their way to share their opinions on our videos.
I just started playing about 2 weeks ago, and I already did this tip, I've taken out all 3 sisters and some legendary animals and just got my power level to 110
You did this before your skill level reached 110?
Get "Bush with Death" and "Grit" and all adrenaline upgrades and go to town.
*THE END*
How do u unlock battle ready it puts your bars max when u get in a fight I had it before but had to restart my data
Unless I want a certain upgrade, I just use the up to fate allocation.
Yea at first it was cool getting stronger how I wanted to but at lvl 300 I just can’t be bothered. The layout looks cool but in terms of practically it’s a shit show. I start for one upgrade, then the next day I forget which one I was going for and where it is.
I doubt it will be patched. The game literally tells you that you can respec for free any time in one of those pop up hint things.
Good vid and your suggestion of getting a forward look at the skill tree is a sound idea. However, I really doubt that they will “patch” the skill tree respec as they had 2 years to do that on Odyssey and you could still respec to this day.
Maybe you're psychic
I say keep fighting the bandits to rank, even if it’s different from the last one. Then go on with more of the story. The Mastery Challenge ain’t easy.
All adrenaline nodes plus adrenaline fiend is a no brainer. Pop in brush with death and berserkers mettle, and the rest is gravy.
Okay I've finished the game I have 31 points in mastery bear 30 in mastery raven and 1 in wolf mastery... can you reset your MASTERY talents so I can spec more in to the bear mastery thankyou
I do like the ability to reset your skill tree for free…. I’m at almost 200 points I did a few in each tree but at first it was overwhelming lol
Insane skill tree secret that ubisoft explained before the release.......whatever
Whatever 🤣
😂whatever
Someone's angry🥺😹
Oooooooh someone hasn’t had cuddles from mummy in a while lol 😂
My buddy whom has the patience of a Buddhist Cyborg Monk used to spec errthang into Raven tree then when he got spotted he would respec into Bear.
@@martindonohue900 I literally watched him do it 4 times in an hour. Out of that hour, it took him roughly twenty minutes to respec.
I had to leave the room because I started getting real bitchy and passive-aggressive about it.
Thanks God!!! They didn’t patch the free reset skills options. Hell yeah!!!
So has this been patched 1 year layer cause this is an Amazing idea on how to unlock the whole skill tree early

The fog comes back every time you restart the game
Exactly, and when the game tells you you can respec at the bottom of the skill tree page, it's not really much of a "secret" either...
@@HorTyS There would be no point removing that mechanic since there are videos and images of the complete skill tree everywhere online.
@@MistaKnifeguy First of all, an obscured skill tree is not a 'mechanic' and I never suggested they should remove it, but also you shouldn't have to look up pictures online just to see what skills you'd like to work towards...
@@HorTyS i dont really agree what takes less time googling ac valhalla skill tree and screenshoting it or spending points in skill tree to fill it up on 1 side then withdrawing those skill points to fill the other then wihtdraving those to filll tue 3rd one .... just sinply google it its time efficient
@@mixa2820 I think you misunderstand, I'm in no way defending the obscured skill tree, it's stupid AF, it should never have been covered in the fog to begin with, especially considering respecing is free, but no game should have a skill tree that requires googling it's layout just to know the path you wish to progress.
Never bothered with understanding that monstrosity. Looked for all the damage buffs and health buffs, kept an eye on my armor weight and that was it. Even on Nightmare difficulty, Valhalla is easy to beat if you can be a little patient and do some basic observations during combat.
Such great info! Have a beautiful day everyone
Are you able to max out the skill tree in this one? I know in ac odyssey you weren't able to aquire all skills.
Yes, by around power level 200 you can have every skill.
Yeah you can easily max out a tree in the mid-game. The power level cap is 400 so you should be able to knock out every single skill by the end of the game.
Huh? I maxed it out in oddesey.
I just let fate decide
Thanks
Where do i add more skill points? I'm capped at 409 now,
The skills tree looks like Skyrim
so basically you made a video about the reset on the skill tree.
complete waste of my time.
The whole game is a waste of time. I just deleted the game. The combat is just too awful.
@@cmortonwvu maybe you’re just bad at the game
@@TheBigJ5887 No I just don't like it. They didn't spend much time on it. I prefer a more aggressive combat like Odyssey had. The Godlike abilities was fun but not necessary. You get the claw all u have to do is hold L1. It's hit, hit Stomp. As you get more powerful it's Hit, Stomp. It's awful and boring. Origins combat was worse, so they tried to make more aggressive and failed miserably.
Yo thanks bro this dude is a hippy
@@cmortonwvu I agree, the combat in this is simply too simple, but I guess they have to cater for all players new and old, too aggressive and they new players will slate it, too simple and the old AC gamers (like myself) will not be happy, it's a balancing act, I just don't think they got it right.
The whole game is unbalanced imo. everything from gameplay to the sound and music, it feels rushed and as for the gameplay with all the bugs and crashes.... wow
I do like the story so far, and I like where it is possibly leading.
Deep...right
I just clicked auto never even bothered after I unlocked the auto loot when Melee
in my opinion this is a lot easier then lvling in ff 10
It would've been good to save a preset so we don't have to reasingn all the skill points again.
I don’t really see any point, because 400 is the max power and you can unlock every point near the end of the game.
Which I found out as I’m power 400 😅
Yes, but what about Senu’s abilities?
I do not understand why auto loot and breakfall are so far into the tree. And auto loot isn't even completely auto
That skill tree backround music is totally from Witcher :D...
Not the actual music
looks more like Skyrim
Am I the only one that didnt do this
No because it's not necessary.
Lol Kratos in gas form fog of war
They won't patch it... They want players to have the free to change from melee to stealth to long range whenever they feel like it
Have you not played the game yet?
Everyone:Try reset
Me:Oh no i didn't like this how is going and wanted that other skill... "take deep breath" time to get some more skill points!
No idea who the fuck thought hiding the skills was a good idea
I just use fate, huge mistake?
All I want is to have a build that has a faster regen rate for my abilities. Why have them if you don't have access to them when you need them? For example, I've been in encounters where my abilities don't EVER regen. Stupid.
Think they won't touch respect cus there is a text during load screen saying respect as much you want expermenting is encouring
Ahhhh good catch!
But we never know what ubi does in the future with the respect. But if they state that playing around with diffrent builds is an encourgment and respecting is a thing you can do in their tutorial text on the loading screen.
i may be wrong, but if you reset all the skill tree thefog returns...
It doesn't
It doesn’t
The fog only return when you leave the game, so be prepared to unlock them all again to see 😒
What’s wrong with the fog
how did you so much skill points? i didnt undrstend
You can eventually buy all of them so why is there even a tactic to selecting skills lol
Change your difficulty same thing happens
If i clear All the fog and restart or reload the game, the fog comes back on the paths without points, Same on helmet, if i dont hide it and restart or reload its again on hide, does any1 have solutions or tips? Sorry for Bad english im germany but the german ac RUclipsrs suck on content lol
i have the same damn issue with my helmet being hidden unless i go into menu after being killed or starting up for the day
@@captnoah8930 Hope it gets fixxed in an Update soon lol
@@Costa7884 i do too. I bit the bullet and bought that drangur pack, one with glowing green eyes and every damn time i come back, no helmet
I just gave up and leave the helmet hidden. It is a design oversight not a bug.
When you hover over it you will have the option to hide it and unhide it
Has anyone tried the fate option on the skill tree? Just starting the game and a little overwhelmed.
A little behind but I’m using it it strikes out an even balance
I just unlocked all of them bc i don’t be caring
Where’s that skill point ability where when u get hit by an Ememy your adrenaline won’t go down
Bear Tree - Berserker's Mettle / A partially filled Adrenaline Slot will not be affected by an enemy's first strike.
@@LegacyGamingUS that was so helpful thank you.
Anyone done a screen shot of the complete skill tree?

@@Jammi354 Thank you so very much! I really appreciate it! (Y)
Lol was seeing if anyone else said this already. Not a terrible vid and not just about what is in the skill tree but yeah LOL just go look at any of the full loadout screenshots to plan your path.
Also... ~100+ gets you almost all of any of the 3 branches/types. A bit more and you can also get all adrenaline even if just 1 type (ranged/melee/stealth). 👌
or you can just go on your phone and look up the skill tree and go from there...lol
My stamina going low so fast 😢
Idunn's Heart perk completely breaks this game. If you die with this perk equipped, its either because you tried or you just suck at gaming.
This game is too easy to even find some of the perks useful. Origins was better!!
Best tip so far 😃
Until you finish playing, turn it on tomorrow, then the fogs back... 😒
Nothing different than other rpg games ive played in a skill system 😂 only quite a few have had something similar
Is it patched
Who else level 400
You’re crushing it man! I got a ways to go
Mastery skill points after
Thought the max rank is 340
@@euangough9436 that’s for regions
@@shadymilkman443 yup I already maxed out the bear mastery skill, you can only put 30 mastery points and it caps out, I have 15 on raven mastery and 10 on wolf mastery
Insane Skill Tree Secret .... thats not even close to insane, its so obvious...
Don't waste your time. The fog returns after you restart the game the next time.
It's not about the fog returning Simon, it's about the fact that you can plan out your build by seeing the whole tree.
@@LegacyGamingUS yeah but it's just annoying it does haha
just look up a picture of the skill tree that has them labeled.
The skill tree is so dumb. Especially the layout
Thank you, Captain Obvious...
i just go in blind cuz i dont care what build i get into lol
Unnecessary
Halfway through already dislike it the fact they're hiding it is so a surprise you as it comes up, not everyone is going to take the time like you did too unclear to see which way you're going to go.
Over whelmed! U must have never played final fantasy. Rookie
Lol not so much me overwhelmed, but new players who haven't experienced a skill tree before.
How is this INSANE? How is this even a SECRET? WTF man i figured this out in the first 5 minutes, plus it doesn't even really matter what perks you invest in really, game is too easy even at the hardest difficulty, AC Valhalla is the most bloated piece of shit i ever played
I just made it 1k likes
It’s almost as if the devs wanted you to spend more time on google and RUclips looking shit up than you do in the game actually fucking playing. Think about it:
The skill tree is fogged over
Abilities have to be found rather than unlocked
There are only 13 armor sets in the game, so the set bonuses actually matter
Some chests have no discernible path to them
Some puzzles aren’t explained, at first, that they’re even puzzles (like the stones you have to lineup)
Many “world events” offer zero direction
A lot of quests are bugged
I literally think I’m at 25 hours of game time and 57 hours of looking shit up.
I’m proud to say I haven’t put a single point into anything but the warrior trees. I’m a Viking...not a ninja.
It is assassins creed afterall
I’m now proud to say I’ve finished & uninstalled this game. Start to finish felt like busy work. 2/10.
