In this Assassins Creed Valhalla guide I will show you how to get diamond runes for mythic weapons and how to farm unlimited runes for your AC Valhalla character build. Runes in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla help you do the max damage in the game during combat gameplay. Dimond rune shapes can only be used in Mythic armor and weapons but offer unique effects like +25 damage. There are many ways to get rune stones in AC Valhalla but I’ll be showing you the best tips and tricks to get the ones you need fast since there are many methods to farm runes in AC Valhalla.
Runes exist in minor, normal and great runes which have the highest damage effect, the rune you get depends on your power level.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is the 12th main instalment action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft. Set in 873 AD, the game recounts an alternative history of the Viking invasion of Britain. The player controls Eivor, a Viking raider who becomes embroiled in the conflict between the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Templar Order. How is your play through going?
You forgot to mention your settlement has to be level 5 or higher to get diamond runes in the trader

I knew it existed! I’ve been trying to get the Curative perfection rune for a couple of days now i can rock double flail and be a maniac. First person to show me the rune i’ve been looking for!
Literally everything you see on a weapon or armor exists as a rune
The chained fury rune is also a great gold farm as it sells for 53 Gold at the shops:
1) Buy rune for 5 gold
2) Switch to eagle, back to Eivor
3) Repeat as often as you like
4) Sell runes obtained
5) Profit
Warning: This gold farm will be going away with patch 1.1.0 according to the patch notes, so if you really need the gold, do not update until you have enough.

If you save before hitting confirm kill, on the drengr or order members, you can reload repeatedly, then click confirm kill, until you get the ones you want
One cool thing you can try with runes is to stack them with a shields, if you use a Sarcophagus shield with chance of small fire around you on parry, and you add a diamond rune ' chance of poison cloud on parry' sometimes you get BOTH off of 1 parry. you will see blackened ground from the shield perk, then look around there is a cloud of poison. I assume you could do the opposite with the Morrigan shield, which I will be testing later (morrigan perk is cloud poison, so I added rune 'parry has chance to make small fire around you'. I practice on the groups of soldiers that wander the country roads. When I get both fire & poison off 1 parry, they are Burning, & the cloud dot ticks them to death. I just stand in the center while they foolishly come to me. Eivor makes the emote of arm to mouth because poison is detected, but health does not seem to go down and no verbal complaints like when we are in a cave with poison. Just don't stand on burning bodies because that does burn & you have dodge roll to extinguish, and I don't like to leave the cloud.

If you equip 2 spears (gungnir, fafnir’s fang, fyrd spear, cadfarch spear), max them out, throw nothing but +3.3 crit chance runes on them, critical spark rune on one, curative perfection rune on the other, +2.0 melee runes on all armor pieces, with fully upgraded mentors set and using adrenaline fiend and grit skills, and poison strike skill before every fight turns you into a hard critical hitting, non stop health regenerating, fire and poison damaging GOD. You literally wreck everything in your path on the hardest difficulty and can’t die. There’s also a method to get a specific hunters bow to hit for 2000 damage you could add to the build as well

Chain Fury rune from the two beggars yes thanks. The first time no go and I thought I had wrong beggars but second time each gives the chained fury rune. So much for their destitute status.
It would be very helpful to have a mini map especially underground dark where I am always getting turned around or just not get that an underwater route is how it is done. without watching videos posted I just can't see how you can be reasonably expected to reach some goals.
And I still have not caught one piece of flying paper and I do not think I will be trying to do so if it isn't absolutely necessary to the end game.
For the most part it has been most enjoyable just a few detestable tasks made even more difficult in that you need to be very familiar with controller buttons and sensitivity.
When testing out runes, I found out that affects that proc on critical hits, cancel each other out? I hope this is a bug? For example: Excalibur is supposed to trigger on critical hits? But if you give fire on crit rune. When I score a critical hit, I only see fire but no blind flash? Same goes for health on crit.
Lastly, if you put fire on crit on your bow it does not trigger from melee. I thought your bow SHARES all perks? I hope these are bugs and will be fixed?

The sleep cloud rune is perfect for one of the ores bows if you want to use it to fish, shoot one of the schooling fish in the head and the cloud will drop like 4 other fish around it. If you want to make a ton of money quick just farming fish you can do this and find a shallow area, specifically there’s a place just near Jorvik with a small concrete bridge over it. dual wield spears and herd the fish and just stab away. Also if you have dive of the valkery upgraded to level 2 you can use this to jump into the shallow area(it will not work in water you cannot stand in) where the fish are crowded and the shockwave will kill all the fish in the affected area. I believe the most I got in one use of the ability was 12 fish.
I know this comment is old, but I’ve actually got an even better method that I heard about.
1.) Get Spinning Harpoon
2.) Got to the lake beside Jorvik
3.) Take off armor and *speen*
4.) Profit
This is *NOT* my method. I heard about through someone else. Not sure if you know about it tho.
Great video. I wish they would offer a nightmare mode. I'm finding that my character has scaled into absurdity and the game was pretty easy to begin with.
Thank you for the videos @ESO. I have one question: if I understand correctly from the video you're implying that the rune's value is getting multiplied by the equipment level that it is slotted in. Is that correct? I couldn't fine any source for it online.
Also since brigandine is basically the best defense armor, focus on getting the chest and getting it to mythic and you can rune it to have the good part of another set. (It seems like most sets have one good and one crap effect)
Having fire guard rune on a morrigan guard shield with St. George’s sword and costume gears …that’s an easy way to inflict high damages via poison cloud as well as fire circle together on each parry
I ran down to Dover fortress, from the bottom up to the castle. So many enemies there dropped the round runes. Probably the best place I found so far on my travels.

guys i'm using a 2handed sword, should I go for speed runes like Chained Swiftness Rune or focus on more damage perfection runes?

Some diamond runes never show up, been trying for ages now to get: chained perfection rune and chained swiftness runes, it never appears. yes my settllement is at lvl6.
Only thing you don’t talk about I’m this video is the diminishing return on rune, you can’t stack the same rune everywhere. For instance, I found that the best for armor is 2 * 18,9 health, 3* 5 armor, 3* 3.5 mele resistance , 1 * 2,5 range defense, and 5 * 2 mele damage.
Oh yea i got mine from order kills, btw do i need level 6 settlement for story missions? Also for anyone who doesn’t like fishing but wants fish, you can mow down entire rivers of fish with a bow and collect away and other aoe explosive ways XD

Have you or anyone here found the huntsman armor rune? There seems to be a armor rune for each in game armor set but I have yet to find it and was wondering if it's even in the game or possibly bugged since it's duplicated in the game

Funny story: I in around level 60 went to that damn bandit hideout in snotinghamscire (level 250 region), to get me a random high level chest for leather and iron to upgrade my theign’s armor, and I found a diamond shaped chained perfection rune, I was very happy to get it until I got killed by a damn wild pork and lost it.
I wanted to cry and I was almost going to break the controller and spent the next half hour farming that chest to get the rune back to obviously no avail.
how do you upgrade the general trader?
If only Gungnir had a rune version, that would be amazing. Though I'm pretty sure it doesn't.
An extended Dane axe would be Insane lol. I’d be happy with 2 gungnirs to dual wield 🙃
@@timesfly1081 I’m currently favoring dual spears with Gungnir and Leonidas being the best in the game. BTW the spartan spear actually has better stats than Odin’s, but doesn’t have the extended reach.

Tried killing Order members around power level 200 and out of 5 Order members only got 1 minor rune. Dunno if I'm just super unlucky or not but in my experience I would not recommend this method for runes.

Do runes apply to weapons other than the one they are on? Like if I put a flat bonus attack rune on my shield, will my sword have higher attack?

wish devs would add a tailsman/trinket slot like n Monster Hunters....w/one perk but mainly for 3 extra rune slots it would provide...can rlly do alot w/that...if they only would... sad face. ..
ESO, how do you know that the Dash Fury Rune gives you a +25 to damage? I have several diamond runes that say they increase damage when certain actions are executed, but none that tell me by how much. Great video. Thanks
I'm guessing he activates the runes then while its active in battle, goes to his stats screen. Thats what I do to see how buffs are applied. The stats screen will actively update these even during combat.

For the beggar method you can actually walk away for 20 meters or so and then if you walk back you can actually give another 5 silver and 3 more runes. You can do this basically infinite
Annoying that they only give you the same rune tho
@@ESOdanny yes, true. But still this is an amazing silver farm because they sell for 58 each, so with this you can buy new runes i guess.

No. Easier. Just pay 5 silver to one of them, call raven for a sec and cancel. Then u can directly pay him again. Rinse and repeat. Faster. No need to walk away.

I just started playing it, and I'm like power lvl 57. I killed 2 with tactics, and didn't so I think u need to be higher lvl.
The hunter has the fire circle on parry rune its black. The fisher has the poison on parry rune

pc users, go to same beggar in this video 5:36 (Lundun), but just stand at 1 guy only, do this many times E V V (loot/raven up/raven down) . when the 3 beggar go to sleep, then go sell all at trade shop nearby, 8k/15min of e-v-v & sell time. no brainer (good karma for giving to poor). G-meditate if beggar sleeps for fast repeat. you will Like this in 15min when you see what happens :) Tip: don't type e v v too fast, you get hang of timing, earliest you can bring raven back in is after bird caw sound, but later doesn't matter. can get a fast rhythm going ~1 key/sec. & do not have to move. Raven going up/down instant resets beggar, & meditate resets them sleeping. controller players can do this too but I dont know commands.
Einherjar set has diamond slots on EVERY piece. 😊 On top of being an AMAZING armor set.

@@isleepunderthebed4514 the bonus ain’t overpowered. But it would be nice if the change the diamond runes to just one. But let’s be real, the armor diamond runes aren’t as good as normal runes
@@eastsidejon8342 the bonus can stack up to 3 times each stack 10 attack and last 50 sec that’s pretty op compared to the rest of set bonus we have
How many hrs have you played? You are at level 400? Im 35hrs in and im only level 70. I feel like it will be a long time before I can get into the higher up areas?
I played 140h of Valhalla and am at 400 + 90 for those additional mastery points you can get when you reach 400. Its ridiculously easy to level up. Everything just give so much exp. Just do the mysteries/wealth etc. And voila level up fast.

I spent an entire day worth of gameplay farming zealots for all of the best increased speed runes for both weapons and armor. I decided that I was going to attach these runes to armor like the Huntsman set which has its own built in speed bonus along with something like the Fyrd spear which has the same. I seriously had it all worked out in my mind, the stoke was real and I was on a mission. Using my fancy new diamond runes I was essentially building myself a Vin Diesel, F&F, N.O.S. boosted Eivor who would one day become the scourge of every English fishing hole across the land and it would have been my way of giving Ubisoft the middle finger for making those bastard fishes so bloody fast after their last patch that I don’t even really waste the time or energy attempting to farm them anymore... Alas, I’m sure the look I had on my face upon realizing that I was a total buffoon was priceless.... Now one day when I’m on my death bed I’ll think back on that moment and reflect, “Oh how I wish I still had that extra day that I so foolishly wasted hunting for runes that can’t even be stacked!” 😂 🤷🏼♂️

My settlement lvl is 5 and power lvl 35 , no diamond runes in getting displayed for purchased when i m going to the merchant. Can u pls help me out

There's no point in using more than a few (3~ or so) of any 1 rune because they have diminishing effects. I have 3 of the 18.9 hp runes on my hood, the first 2 both give +18.9hp but when i equip the third it only gives +12 and the effect gets lower from there until its only giving you +2-3hp. Just my opinion but not worth using more than 3 of any rune.

I've got lots of runes in my satchel and I've got lots of slots, but for some reason I can't use the runes in my satchel,?,😢.

How do you have Gungnir without completing the story? I thought you can get it only after endgame
As far as I know you have to visit a cave where one of the last quests lead you. To pick up the spear you need 4 adrenaline bars. That's it. You simply have to know where the cave is.

How do I upgrade the vendor?
You can get great runes from the dawn of ragnarok dlc. They loan you the all father armor which is maxed and your power level shoots up over 300 so you can get them in there and take them back to your main story
Where can you upgrade the trader
So far 60hrs in and I havent gotten diamond runes from order members, I know it is possible, but it hasn't happened for me personally.
Btw, what does he mean by upgrade the general trader, I am finding no sign for upgrades.

@Laurie Prescott mine is at settlement lvl 5 and I have never had her with diamond runes, my friend doesnt have diamond runes in his shop either.
He started getting drops from the order at just under power level 100, I hunted down as much as I could at level 200 and havent been getting diamond runes, and have been fighting drengre.
Anyone know where to get the fire rune that ignites your weapons after a critical hit
I got it at the store in raventhorpe the lady in her shop, but after a critical hit they didn’t catch fire, so I use my fire ABILITY that always works but maybe it will work for you

Depends on your level for the zealots. I've received zero diamond runes from them.

Wait, I've been playing the game of hard and I've killed 4 of the zealots already and no diamond runes. I've even beat the guy and then reloaded the game to see if I get anything better but they are never diamond runes.
As far as the beggars I get same runes....but I never ever get diamond runes from my store......I’m lvl 247 now.....

No need to wait for shop to restock normally every time you lv up they will restock as well

What power level do you need to get greater runes?

Keep collecting from the 3 beggars and sell the rune for 58 silver. I can do it for a whole day time session in game and collect over 10k in silver. Also, after you get the rune from the beggars, go into your raven mode and when you come back the rune will be available again.
I just gave the beggers money for the first time and got nothing...any reason why?
for PS4/PS5 -> stand in front of the beggars spam the following: (Triangle) - (Cross up) - (Cross up) > do this 10 minutes and you never have to worry about silver EVER! [Cross up = call in raven)
I think my game is bugging. I just found severa gold bars and they didn’t go into my inventory. So annoying

you can exploit the beggers and sell those ruins for 52 silver and you can buy new ones after going on the eagle

You pretty much can get it from zealot and make ur settlement higher at 5/6 to unlock it from shop...
