Fun Fact: The trader up on the west side of Gloomrot North sometimes sells onyx tears before you're able to craft them. If you happen to have enough goldsun coins or are on a server with reduced trader costs you can buy the 4(3) tears you need for the purple anguine weapons and skip a weapon level.
Also on PVE servers. you don't really need a 90%-100% blood quality servant. It would be better to imprison humans with these blood quality or so you'll always have a blood source to tap available especially when you're about to fight a boss. 86%-89% is good enough for them to be a choice to be converted to servants. What gear level equipment you give them when you sent them on hunts is what matters most. You can always replace your servants w/ higher blood quality after you've already collected different 100% quality blood types sources(prisoners).
For anyone that, like me, initially looked at the servant hunt locations in Mortium and dismissed Draculin servants for that purpose. Draculin bloods actually get the "Humble Appearance" trait. Not just workers.
I love the caravans. In Farbane, they can sometimes get in fights with bosses. I got an easy Goreswine because he picked a fight with a caravan and got down to like 25% health by the time he killed everyone. I also got a funny bug where only the wagon spawned in. No driver, no guards, and this was in Dunley, so I got a free ancestral weapon shard out of it.
Hey timmy got a bit of a quest for you. So it appears that there is orange tier ancester weapons. I got one from those high level incursion events. I wanted to know if that's the only place they drop from. I only see the two traders for blue and purple but i was wondering if orange drops from high level bosses outside of incursion events. My guess would be from the soul shard bosses.
They drop from incursions, high lvl bosses, and there is a small chance when you buy from the purple trader that the weapon will be orange instead of purple
I believe blue ancient weapons should still be crafted, since the way we get the desired purple aw is grindy and expensive, way more then gathering sanguine materials. You can still use blues to equip your servants, and may help farming low/mid tier materials. Blues can help making bosses easier too, since Onix tears for purples are quite a pain to farm solo.
I would argue that unless you're on Brutal, no boss is challenging enough with a Sanguine to need the infusion/extra stats, which is why I mentioned it's probably not worth it. If you'd like to do it though, feel free. It just gets VERY costly, especially when you're accustomed to using more than 1 weapon.
@@terribletimmy2 I do, and using bat form after unlocking it Allowing teleportation and flight with items in the inventory changes the game a lot, might miss out on some encounters like this, for example
Sometimes you'll see double wide roads with a bit of grass in the middle. These spots mark caravan travel routes. They usually go through central areas, circling major locations. As someone else said, missing them is one of the consequences of having 'teleport with resources' enabled.
So this is kind of a personal preference thing that's centered around playstyle and the pace of PvP servers. If you're playing solo and you want to get the upgrade, then it is absolutely worth it. The stats and Infusions are huge gains at that stage of the game, and you can then keep those stats and the infusion when you get Silver weapons and then Sanguine weapons. The issue is that with each tier upgrade, you have to craft another weapon to combine with your blue weapon. In PvP servers, we like to use as many weapons as we possibly can, making the material cost for all blues astronomical, for not enough of a benefit. It slows us down on our way to end game. It ends up being like this: Merc iron weapon -> Blue weapon (+2 ilvls) Craft a Silver weapon -> combine with Blue Weapon (effectively losing the silver weapon, and not gaining any additional ilvls over a standard silver weapon) Craft a Silver weapon AGAIN and then upgrade it to Sanguine Weapon -> Combine with blue weapon (now you've invested 2 silver weapons and a Sanguine for no additional ilvls). Then, when you get to End-game and are getting Purple weapon shards (+4 ilvls over sanguine weapons and more stats), you can't upgrade that Blue weapon to Purple. You have to make ANOTHER Silver, upgrade that one to Sanguine, and then turn the Sanguine Purple. In a PvP setting, this is simply too much of an investment. While it's not always a bad thing to run some blue weapons if you get a good drop, having to craft a total of 24 silver weapons and 16 sanguine weapons is an INSANE time investment. Instead, it's better to just stick with Non-upgraded Sanguine weapons and then turn them Purple when you get to that point, which works out to just 8 silver/sanguine weapons.
I never sleep on caravans but they always be sleeping on me. Found 5 early on in act 1 and haven't found one for the last 15 of game play and ive spent hours purposely looking for caravans. They just aren't worth looking for. I think they are just too rare
So fun story. I hadnt played V rising in a while (almost two years) when i decided to boot it up last week. I was relatively low level when I encountered my first caravan and i thought to myself "oh new content". Through sheer stubbornness I managed to win the fight and went to claim my prize not knowing what was in store for me. The moment I destroy the caravan I learned that this particular caravan could spawn mobs (more importantly mobs from any area of the map.) And thats how I got one tapped by a cursed bear wearing reinforced bone gear in Farbane Woods. Its was literally my first caravan ever.
@@terribletimmy2 Oh absolutely. Second prisoner caravan I found was filled with a pack of wolves with blood quality in the upper eighties. Definitely worth it...... When you're not as fragile as a twig. 😂 Extra fun fact: I never made it past the Dunley Farmlands because I kept getting distracted. That caravan was my first encounter with anything beyond the Farmlands.
Can someone explain what he was talking about with upgradeing weapons in the ancestral forge? Was he saying don't bother wasting mats on sanguine tier because you can skip it and get the level 30 ones later?
So essentially, in order to make a blue weapon maxed out, it requires a sanguine weapon. This means it also requires an additional silver weapon (to make the sanguine weapon)... Which if you upgraded your blue to lvl 23 you already had to make. Then, once you've made a sanguine weapon to upgrade your blue weapon to max (lvl26, which is the same ilvl as a regular sanguine weapon), your next upgrade is a purple weapon, which is lvl 30, and requires a sanguine weapon AGAIN. So instead of doing that, I recommend that when you're ready to make a sanguine weapon, just completely forgot upgrading a blue weapon with it, since they give the same ilvl and all you're really getting are stats. Then, when you have the ability to purchase/upgrade to a purple weapon, you won't have to waste mats make a second sanguine
There is one other trap with the castle heart relocation, you have to remove your plants manually before you relocate. This can be a real pain if you are playing alone and have already built out your castle and then have to go back, on at least one server I was on there was a 30 second timer where after you left you would abandon the castle relocation. Luckily I wasn't playing alone because I had spent nearly an hour relocating everything before realizing that the plants were still planted at the old base right before I moved the base.
5:55 so you’re saying people should be making a gear jump from weapon level 23 to 30? The upgrade is there for a reason, it’s part of the progression. Mats for sanguine weapons are not hard to get. Being underleveled is the real trap here.
Both fully upgraded blue weapons and regular sanguine weapons are ilvl 26. Not sure where you're getting 23, that's dark silver weapons. Because you cannot use a blue weapon as a component to craft a purple, this means that right after you farmed the mats to upgrade a blue weapon all the way to max lvl, you will then have to farm MORE mats to make a regular sanguine weapon to turn that into a purple, particularly when you can actually get a purple weapon fairly easily by just buying one with greater stygian shards, which you can farm in dracula's garden before you can even do incursions.
I appreciate this video it helps out a lot.Haven't played the game in a while, and I just got back into it. Also, I didn't realize that you could get the succubus as a Minion.

im playing brutal difficulty with my friend sporadically due to different daily schedules so its progressing slower. I'm now considering playing brutal difficulty solo too, is it ok? or should i just do normal? Also where do you find the caravans? No luck finding them yet
Solo Brutal is typically easier than duo Brutal. I find if you're on a server that allows 4 player clans, the scaling in boss battles seems like its either 1 player, or 2+. Which means that 3 players is a way easier fight than 2. Many of the bosses that spawn extra helpers don't spawn them on solo.
Power creeping is so important in this game that I don't agree with not fully upgrading your blue ancestrals. What I do agree with is being choosey about what blue and purple ancestrals you repair. If you find a blue that is really good for your build, you should absolutely fully upgrade it. And then, fully lean on a good blue ancestral until you can find a purple that fits your build. It's easy to focus too much on the level of an item and lose focus on the fact that the stats on a lower item may help you more than just a higher level item. For example, my current toon isn't going to be wearing the Dawnthorn armor, because the stats from the blood hunter set helps me more than just the raw health.
My opinion on upgrading sanguine and blue weapons is from the perspective of someone who has been playing since the initial release. If it's your first playthrough, then have at it. Once you know the game and the boss fights however, the stats and infusion your blue gives is not really important. It also massively increases the cost of each weapon you want to take to sanguine tier

Castle relocation timers are probably to prevent cheese. If you want you could make a 'forward battlement' castle that just consists of Servant Coffins loaded up with Lightbringers or whatever and spawn them in near patrol paths for pesky world bosses.
No, definitely not incorrect. Unless you're looking for specific infusions for very specific things, and you're ONLY considering PvP, infusions make very little difference if the weapon is 4 levels lower. Also, you're spending 2x the mats. 4 lvls is roughly 20% damage dealt AND received. You will not match that with a blue weapon unless it's a perfect stat roll, maybe.
If you're new to the game, you'd think that. If you have experience and play PvP servers with other veterans and you returned for 1.0 (when this video was posted), then these absolutely are traps, considering we knew that many of these features were going to be in the game, but not how to take advantage of them correctly.

I had thought of just makeing notes on paper and useing and excel spread sheet as blocks to show each Square to make rooms and stuff
Not that I know of, but people have done similar stuff to what you're describing with excel etc. check my discord under the "check my castle" tab. Some really good info there for efficient bases
Just realized my world is reset, with 1.0. Started a new character that is basically Alucard, and got the Castlevania DLC.
Probably a good job we had to start again, anyway, as I'm double-rusty, when it comes to combat. I'd have had no idea what was going on, as not played since early, early access.
Yeah there's a LOTS of changes since EA. There's a ton of changes that were hard to wrap our heads around between the gloomrot patch and 1.0
@@terribletimmy2 Thanks.
I didn't play Gloomrot, neither. So got a lot of new stuff to learn.
I didn't even know the game was in 1.0 at first. I just picked up again for the Castlevania stuff.
nice vid tks a lot! new sub
Just turn off the relocate cooldown in the settings. Honestly one of the best things about this game is having the freedom to turn off stupid mechanics
sadly the official v rising pve server I was playing one shut down early this morning so not sure why that happened. I had to start all over again.
That is very odd. If it was an official, it shouldn't have shut down
@@terribletimmy2 even stranger I could get on another v rising server. that one person said was down for several hours around the same time the other went down. i tested it about an hour ago and strangely the one I was on has 0/40 on it and the other one has 26/40 on it. both are official v rising servers for central us time zone. I am not sure what happened and lost all progress.
found out the servers had bad storms near them and the server i was on was down till early morning yesterday. so glad it is back up
can people rob you while you're relocating your castle ?
Honestly no clue how it works. They can probably kill you, but won't be able to interact with things is my guess.
I like listening to people that know what they're doing
btw, have you played normal mode? you noticed the mobs being easier than pre-early access version?
I had a little dabble yesterday while waiting for my friend to get it and it seems to me like it's not as brutally hard as it was in early access.
I have played normals. I don't believe stuff has been tuned down, Rather the new armors and gear give tons of stat bonuses, which cause you to deal more damage and have more sustain etc.
So basically, we got buffed which does kind of make mobs easier.
Side note, give brutal a try and this concept will fly out the window haha
@@terribletimmy2 fair
Great tips!
Very different game that it was on EA released. Great tips. The one to get stygian shards Im doing it now.
Yeah it's very very different. Obviously the core is the same, but the overall additional systems and spells etc, not to mention the bosses, is very different.
bro what is that castle design lol
hahaha I know I know, but this was on a beta PvE server and I was short on time, so I was focused more on leveling than I was making it work well
Oh man I painly killed a tier 4 carage and 2 end game (me lvl 41) mobs came out and stamped me out
Oh yeah, very scary, but when you're high enough level that's a good way to get high% Draculin
I found a caravan in the northwest end of the map, abandonned. Hit it forever (since im low level) until it broke. The adds that spawned looked cool as hell (pun) but the loot was meh(unlucky).
Sounds like a Prisoner wagon. Those are primarily for high qual prisoner blood. If you can find one that doesn't look like a giant box, that's the one with the crazy loot
@@terribletimmy2 the two units that spawned had "Dracule" or something similar under their names.
I got a talent/gem for one of the fey spells "Mosquito" or whatever. Fey spells seem dumb to me tho.
What are the raid times on officail server?
I THINK it's 8pm based on the servers timezone, but honestly I'm not 100% on that
@@terribletimmy2 thanks
Loving the vids
Very informative. Thank you and sub!
Welcome!
I will not ever relocate my castle ever again. That shits like to much real life moving.
Chores in the game and out of the game. Nty
Thank you so much timmy! Ive watched other v rising contents from others but your guide is the best! Ive liked and suscribed, thanks again timmy! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Awesome, thank you!
Finally a content creator that hasn't gone "Oh look there's a caravan i'll ignore that" - nice work.
Something I really want to figure out is how to use them/cheese them for early big come ups
@@terribletimmy2 You can probably do it in a duo, one of you pull of the mobs and the other beat on it - the ones at higher levels though take a lot of hitting - I found one just sitting on a bridge yesterday and it took me a good 5-6 mins at lvl 50 to break it.
🙌
How are these so called "Traps?"
Better question, which of these aren't traps?
Total6 new n clueless great tips tho
Castle relocation timers are probably to prevent cheese. If you want you could make a 'forward battlement' castle that just consists of Servant Coffins loaded up with Lightbringers or whatever and spawn them in near patrol paths for pesky world bosses.
I love it but i can't play it I either get the authorization error or when I do get in it laggs bad
That sucks. Weird that you're getting that
yeah incorrect on upgrading weapons. its more useful to have the ability perk 26 weapon that you want than useless perk 30 weapon.
You will not match that with a blue weapon unless it's a perfect stat roll, maybe.
give us the content
Not a lot of traps or widely useful advice. This feels more like “I wanted to make a video so here’s some filler”
Except all of them are traps for any experienced player coming back to 1.0.
Gosh this was basic
How far are you into the game? This is intended for people just starting out or new.
Baity title. No traps - just general newbie tips.
Unless you played the versions prior to 1.0, which the majority did.
@@terribletimmy2 That doesn't really matter, though? The word "trap" is used in the most baity way possible here.
If you're new to the game, you'd think that.
If you have experience and play PvP servers with other veterans and you returned for 1.0 (when this video was posted), then these absolutely are traps, considering we knew that many of these features were going to be in the game, but not how to take advantage of them correctly.
If someone needs a good eu solo/duo pvp server i recommend 194.163.156.78:34000
