  • Muñequita is a term of endearment which translates to “little doll.” I had a different name for her after the second time she failed on me at Watkins Glen! However, I didn’t want to dwell on the rocky start to our relationship because the car is really a sweet drive! So, I tried thinking of another name but the old one just kept running through my head.
The name came to me (yes, it’s from the Santana song Smooth) recalling a conversation I was having with a friend the week prior, at that second Watkins Glen event where Muñequita had the big blow up. We were talking about some situation, and I mentioned how she was so “smooth” and the song came to mind. Whenever I think of the song, I hear the lyric “My muñequita, my Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa.” Bam, there it was. From the context I figured muñequita had that right meaning and sure enough it describes driving the Exige 240 Cup perfectly.
She’s a lithe and nimble little doll full of playful fun, rather than the raw aggressiveness of “Woody,” my 2-Eleven. Enjoy some laps in the "little doll!"

Watching this was a great way to work away the winter blues!

Winter blues already, Chip? I get it! Glad you enjoyed the video. Muñequita is currently being transformed into an SCCA STU class car. So, expect some serious race videos from her next year!
