There doesn't seem to be a reaction to this series and I saw no one recommend it, so that's first. Three songs I recommend are Liberi Fatale, Answers, and 1000 Words. Now for the typical. Guilty Gear Strive: Drift, Carve Your Way, & The Name if Heaven. Just going to name three songs. Gensokyo Holoism. Just naming the album like I did before. Simply because those within the Vtuber and Touhou Project communities have incredible music. So, why not both. I do think these are selections you may find interesting.
Monster high was based on self confidence and I absolutely loved it as a child. Also I absolutely recommend listening and reacting to the song "we are monster high"
Fun fact! Boo york used only 1 female & 1 male vocalist, so ALL the songs are performed by the same 2 ppl. The entirety of "steal the show" is one person singing as 3 characters! Just shows how well the composers & vocalists did in making the style of each song & character voice distinct ///EDIT yes, in "empire" cleo's dad is the same vocalist as pharaoh, edited to make the voice lower Also a lot of the songs were shortened in the movie/music videos, esp "it can't be over", but the ost has the full versions Also also, monster high released a live action musical movie last year. NO ONE EXPLAINED, okay I'm only 1:12 in BUT Deuce (green guy) is the son of a Gorgon (maybe Medusa, unclear). Cleo is the second born daughter of the Pharaoh, so she's a Mummy. Their whole thing in the OG Monster High was to show that "scaritage" (heritage) didn't have to stop you from loving who you love... ... Except also Cleo was a high class gal and Deuce was a dude who tended to be just chill. Which was the sub-plot "It Can't Be Over" covers.
Don't forget the manipulation Nefera used on him, making him feel guilty for dating Cleo and feeling the need to let her go to make her truly happy That hurt my heart bro 💔
I am not in this fandom. But from what I learned from my little brother. His mom is implied to be Medusa (it says this in Deuce's diary), and that's why she's upset his pet rat is named perseus (in Greek mythology, perseus is the dude that beheads Medusa).
The word ghoul, especially in g1 is just so versatile and i love it. Within the same scene it could be used to replace girl, cool and God, and no one would bat an eyelid.

In the song 'Steal the show' Toralei stole Caty's voice because she couldn't sing with her real voice. Caty then got her voice back and sang like Toralei. So, it isn't Toralei's real voice but you were right, that she's not that good
I'm so happy you finally discovered Monster High. A whole generation grew up with it, with its message of being okay with yourself, the way you are, virtues and flaws in the same package, and I'm just glad I got to be part of it too. You should also react to the second opening "We are Monster High". It's more upbeat and cheerful than the first one, but still a bop.

Answering every single one of Mathew's Questions cause I'm bored: 1. Monster High is the daughters and sons of famous monsters going to high school like Dracula, The Mummy, and Frankenstein 2. Cleo and Deuce are the characters in the first song. Deuce is the son of Medusa and Cleo is the daughter of The Mummy, they're together but Cleo is rich and successful, unlike Deuce. Cleo's family doesn't approve so Deuce sings a whole EDM song about how it's over 3. Monster High has several feature films and TV series, Boo York Boo York being one of them. Most of the songs you listened to were from that movie and the theme song plays at the beginning of each movie and I believe is the theme song for the series? 4. The premise of Boo York Boo York is that the main ghouls (girls) take a trip to Boo York (New York) basically a lot of the places have puns for names like Scaris for Paris or New Goreleans for New Orleans. They also have puns for different terms like ghouls for girls or cool, drop-dead gorgeous, mansters for men 5. The people singing in Empire are Cleo's sister and dad and they're singing about being rulers or something like that I don't exactly remember but yeah she wants to rule the world and be rich and in charge 6. It's not just you that thinks these are a bop I swear, I have multiple Monster High songs on my playlist, they are in fact an absolute banger 7. The first girl singing in Steal the Show is named Toralei and is in fact the bully bitchy character you asked for. She has a really bad singing voice so she used some fancy crystal gem to steal Catty Noir's (The black cat with pink hair) voice from her and went on to sing Steal the Show since no way?!?! She's stealing the show. Then all the ghouls break in and are like hey you can't do that la la la la la we came to save the show 8. In the song Boo York Boo York, Pharaoh is the rapper who's mom wants to make him king of the world in competition with Cleo's family (I think????) but Pharaoh prefers to live a life of music so he's like no mom I'm not gonna feed into your stupid rivalry I found a girl I love (Catty Noir) and I want to make music *Starts rapping* also yes there was a girl DJ'ing over top of his rapping, she DJ's for his live performances if I remember correctly 9. Pharao and Cleo’s families aren’t really in competition. They had planned on marrying them which is why Nephera (The girl with blue hair and Cleo’s sister) had to get Deuce to break up with Cleo so she would agree to the marriage for the good of the people
It's a shame we never got another musical from Gen 1. This was phenomenal! Maybe Nickelodeon/Universal will make a MH musical on Broadway like Spongebob.

ugh i love monster high. it defined so much of my childhood. the original webseries makes me so happy still and the movies were goofy but they brought me such joy. would honestly love to see a reaction to a couple episodes of the original show, the episodes were only short and a lot had contained stories. ive really been wanting to rewatch the movies personally but idk if i can justify buying them to myself lol
Fright Song was sung by Madison Beer, who later on went on to completely trash Monster High, and even called it the most embarrassing thing she's ever done. She's not particularly well liked in the fandom because of it.
I could be wrong, but I’ve downloaded most of the songs from this movie, and in a lot of them (mostly Empire) whatever reverb or thing they put on the vocals is gone somehow. So the dad’s gruff voice sounds like a young Pharaohs voice, which makes me think that the Monster High team only had two vocalists the male and female, and used them for every song. This makes me so happy because now “Steal the Show” isn’t a battle between vocalists, it’s one super talented girl one upping herself to improve on an already impressive song!

I LOVE monster high songs they're such a throwback to when i used to watch all of the movies and on my old xbox 360, which i think ive lost, i had a gane called new ghoul in school. These songs are such a vibe, love these reactions btw.
The monster high fangirl in me has been brought out to answer the question you posses. In the easiest way possible MH is about the children of legendary monsters and mythological creatures. So yes all these girls are in high school, though the ages of each of the ghouls can be kind of confusing. We try not to think about it. And one thing you kind of learn is that our main group of ghouls are very well off girls. Traveling around the world in the movies is very easy for them. In Boo York Boo York, the ghouls get invited by Cleo, daughter of the mummy and Egyptian royalty, to visit Boo York for a famous comet ceremony run by her family, the de Nile’s. Her name is a pun on Cleopatra but she’s not related or named after her, according to her diary entries. Now the songs you listened to are out of order so I’ll try and keep it as concise as possible. Empire is the first to appear from the ones you listened to. In it we see Cleo’s older sister, Nefera and their father Ramses devising a plan to use Cleo as a marital pawn. Ramses hopes to form a partnership with the Thalami family by marrying off one of his daughters to the only son of the family, Seth. Nefera being the selfish and spoiled princess she is, decides to sacrifice Cleo instead by causing a breakup between her and Deuce Gorgon, Cleo’s long time partner. This Can’t be Over, is the result of Nefera’s scheming. From all the material to this point it is clear how much Cleo and Deuce love each other. But it’s also made very clear the De Niles disapprove of Deuce because he’s just a common skater instead of a royal prince. And this isn’t the first time the family interferes with their relationship but it’s the first time Deuce is the one to break the relationship. Deuce is a sweet and loving man, who adores Cleo like a queen. When he believes he’s ruined her chance to be happy and move on to greater things, Nefera convinces him to leave her so she can get a chance to reach better. And while it hurts him he lets her go, running from his feelings in the process. Which leads us to the night of the ceremony. Using her distraught state, Nefera convinces Cleo to not only attend the ceremony but accept the promise ceremony with Seth Thalami, having them be bounded by the power of an ancient comet. But due to some other story moments Seth denies the ceremony and removes his mask, revealing to everyone that he is in fact Pharaoh, a popular rapper on the streets of Boo York. Choosing his own freedom he sings his heart out to the city, and to his newly found friend, Catty Noir. A recently gone on hiatus pop star that was finding her own voice with the ghouls. After they run away, Nefera needs to come up with a new plan. Using the power of the comet she literally steals Pharaoh and Catty’s voices, giving the comet to Toralei so she can dispose of it. Toralei being the self interested wild card that she is uses the comet to give herself their voices and with her new skill, takes the stage of Bloodway. There the ghoul confront her, being lead by new friend Luna Mothews. Luna’s entire story in the movie is being a star struck actress wanting to make it to bloodway and this was her chance to be in that stage. And the song leads to Catty recovering her voice as the story continues. This has been the Ghoul recap. It’s always fun to see you enjoy getting to experience music from series you’d never really think to check out. Boo York Boo York was the only MH musical released during the first generation, being the second to last movie released in the shows runtime. It holds a very special place in my heart so it was a real treat seeing you experience it. I will say all the songs you listened to are the cut versions made for the movie. The album version does include longer versions, especially with This can’t be over, going from a minute long song to a full length song. Would definitely recommend listening to them on your own time. And here’s hoping we can see more MH Music reactions since the series holds a lot of fun tracks.
If I remember correctly monster high was a tv show about teenagers that are monsters (who would have thought????!!!!!) And other mystical beings like genies mummies zombies and such. Yeah, monster high has 3 gen, gen1 had a bunch of animated movies and a tv show, it’s by far the best version. The second was a kid friendly reboot that had fewer movies, and lots of people hated it because it was just Mattel being a prude and changing everything to please karens, gen3 has a movie and I think a tv show, it’s also disliked because it changed a lot of the story.

OH MY GOSH, YES. MONSTER HIGH IS SO TOP TEIR 🛐🛐 Edit: To explain the first song, Duece, the gorgan (snake haired dude), is/ was Cleo's boyfriend. Cleo's sister and father, Nefera and Ramses (the ones in Empire), disapprove of him because he's not up to their standards as royals/high class. Throughout the movie as a subplot they find little ways to humiliate him in front of her and make him think he's not good enough for her, which leads him to being so insecure about their relationship that he ends things, thinking she deserves better.

I grew up on monster high, and I watched almost every single one of the movies from the 2000s like the 3-D animated ones and if you’ve never watch the movies there is always a pun in every single sentence that they say but it’s not a pun as in they were making a joke, It’s a pun that they just say in their normal vocabulary. Ok, so to help explain whats was going on in the fist 2 songs. The fist girl you see is Cleo Denile, the daughter of (The?)Pharaoh, and the guy with snakes as hair is Duce Gorgon the son of Medusa. Duce was manipulated by Cleos father and sister(the ones in the second song) into braking up with herby making him think hes not good enough for her since she's royalty and because she was to mary the prince of Boo York (dont remember his name but in the last song hes also called Pharaoh) so that her older sister and her father will have power over the rest of the world due to their union. Also, the black cat character with the pink hair is the love interest for the Boo york prince guy. I don't want to say anything more otherwise it'll be complete spoiler territory. I love this franchise and i have this movies plot engraved into my heart.
I love MH songs! Boo York was sooooo good!!! Not only bc I love music and it’s mainly the only one with songs in it, but it was so well done! Also most of the characters are voiced by the same after. Someone said in the comments it really only was two people which is insane because they all have such different vibes. The Dad‘s voice was also very surprising. Empire is my favorite followed with sorry it’s over then steal the show, etc. The iconic break up and get back together at the end is amazing, I really wasn’t expecting them to break up bc the show makes them to be together always. Really wish they would do more movies like this I’m not a fan of the reboot. I like the idea of being inclusive, but they should’ve done new characters.

Boo York, (MH tends to change the name of the places for something horror related like Boo York, Scaris-Paris, Horrywood). Is a musical center around when the gjouls go to the city by the invitation of Cleo( the Mommy second daughter) for the comet celebration. It can't be over" is about Deuce braking up with Cleo after her sister Nefera, manipulate him into believing he's not good enough for her.
I was the mom of a preschooler who loved MH, and i also became hyper fixated on it. We listened to Boo York, Boo York soundtrack for well over a month. I still listen to it on occasion lol.

My favorite is definitely Steal The Show, but the entire movie is packed full of awesome songs! Loved the OG Monster High so much as a kid! The show was hilarious and somehow managed to be like 80% monster puns. You guessed right the premise of the show was monsters who go to high school (when they aren't going to Boo York for the movie special) The main characters are mostly kids of some classic movie/well-known monsters.
As a mh fanatic let me explain: it was a series of webisodes that led to the making of a doll line and then the movies. The movies usually take place while they’re going on trips away from the school while the webisodes are them in school

Answering every single one of Mathew's Questions cause I'm bored:
1. Monster High is the daughters and sons of famous monsters going to high school like Dracula, The Mummy, and Frankenstein
2. Cleo and Deuce are the characters in the first song. Deuce is the son of Medusa and Cleo is the daughter of The Mummy, they're together but Cleo is rich and successful, unlike Deuce. Cleo's family doesn't approve so Deuce sings a whole EDM song about how it's over
3. Monster High has several feature films and TV series, Boo York Boo York being one of them. Most of the songs you listened to were from that movie and the theme song plays at the beginning of each movie and I believe is the theme song for the series?
4. The premise of Boo York Boo York is that the main ghouls (girls) take a trip to Boo York (New York) basically a lot of the places have puns for names like Scaris for Paris or New Goreleans for New Orleans. They also have puns for different terms like ghouls for girls or cool, drop-dead gorgeous, mansters for men
5. The people singing in Empire are Cleo's sister and dad and they're singing about being rulers or something like that I don't exactly remember but yeah she wants to rule the world and be rich and in charge
6. It's not just you that thinks these are a bop I swear, I have multiple Monster High songs on my playlist, they are in fact an absolute banger
7. The first girl singing in Steal the Show is named Toralei and is in fact the bully bitchy character you asked for. She has a really bad singing voice so she used some fancy crystal gem to steal Catty Noir's (The black cat with pink hair) voice from her and went on to sing Steal the Show since no way?!?! She's stealing the show. Then all the ghouls break in and are like hey you can't do that la la la la la we came to save the show
8. In the song Boo York Boo York, Pharaoh is the rapper who's mom wants to make him king of the world in competition with Cleo's family (I think????) but Pharaoh prefers to live a life of music so he's like no mom I'm not gonna feed into your stupid rivalry I found a girl I love (Catty Noir) and I want to make music *Starts rapping* also yes there was a girl DJ'ing over top of his rapping, she DJ's for his live performances if I remember correctly

Pharao and Cleo’s families aren’t really in competition. They had planned on marrying them which is why Nephera (The girl with blue hair and Cleo’s sister) had to get Deuce to break up with Cleo so she would agree to the marriage for the good of the people

This was part of my childhood but I must admit that I have few memories of the songs! I'm glad you made this video so I can enjoy it again
I could be wrong, but I’ve downloaded most of the songs from this movie, and in a lot of them (mostly Empire) whatever reverb or thing they put on the vocals is gone somehow. So the dad’s gruff voice sounds like a young Pharaohs voice, which makes me think that the Monster High team only had two vocalists the male and female, and used them for every song. This makes me so happy because now “Steal the Show” isn’t a battle between vocalists, it’s one super talented girl one upping herself to improve on an already impressive song!
I genuinely am so so happy you checked Monster High out 💛 It's underrated and has fallen out of the limelight, but it holds such a special place in my heart. The movies and the series are comfort watches for me. The monster high fangirl in me has been brought out to answer the question you posses. In the easiest way possible MH is about the children of legendary monsters and mythological creatures. So yes all these girls are in high school, though the ages of each of the ghouls can be kind of confusing. We try not to think about it. And one thing you kind of learn is that our main group of ghouls are very well off girls. Traveling around the world in the movies is very easy for them.
In Boo York Boo York, the ghouls get invited by Cleo, daughter of the mummy and Egyptian royalty, to visit Boo York for a famous comet ceremony run by her family, the de Nile’s. Her name is a pun on Cleopatra but she’s not related or named after her, according to her diary entries. Now the songs you listened to are out of order so I’ll try and keep it as concise as possible.
Empire is the first to appear from the ones you listened to. In it we see Cleo’s older sister, Nefera and their father Ramses devising a plan to use Cleo as a marital pawn. Ramses hopes to form a partnership with the Thalami family by marrying off one of his daughters to the only son of the family, Seth. Nefera being the selfish and spoiled princess she is, decides to sacrifice Cleo instead by causing a breakup between her and Deuce Gorgon, Cleo’s long time partner.
This Can’t be Over, is the result of Nefera’s scheming. From all the material to this point it is clear how much Cleo and Deuce love each other. But it’s also made very clear the De Niles disapprove of Deuce because he’s just a common skater instead of a royal prince. And this isn’t the first time the family interferes with their relationship but it’s the first time Deuce is the one to break the relationship. Deuce is a sweet and loving man, who adores Cleo like a queen. When he believes he’s ruined her chance to be happy and move on to greater things, Nefera convinces him to leave her so she can get a chance to reach better. And while it hurts him he lets her go, running from his feelings in the process.
Which leads us to the night of the ceremony. Using her distraught state, Nefera convinces Cleo to not only attend the ceremony but accept the promise ceremony with Seth Thalami, having them be bounded by the power of an ancient comet. But due to some other story moments Seth denies the ceremony and removes his mask, revealing to everyone that he is in fact Pharaoh, a popular rapper on the streets of Boo York. Choosing his own freedom he sings his heart out to the city, and to his newly found friend, Catty Noir. A recently gone on hiatus pop star that was finding her own voice with the ghouls.
After they run away, Nefera needs to come up with a new plan. Using the power of the comet she literally steals Pharaoh and Catty’s voices, giving the comet to Toralei so she can dispose of it. Toralei being the self interested wild card that she is uses the comet to give herself their voices and with her new skill, takes the stage of Bloodway. There the ghoul confront her, being lead by new friend Luna Mothews. Luna’s entire story in the movie is being a star struck actress wanting to make it to bloodway and this was her chance to be in that stage. And the song leads to Catty recovering her voice as the story continues.
This has been the Ghoul recap. It’s always fun to see you enjoy getting to experience music from series you’d never really think to check out. Boo York Boo York was the only MH musical released during the first generation, being the second to last movie released in the shows runtime. It holds a very special place in my heart so it was a real treat seeing you experience it. I will say all the songs you listened to are the cut versions made for the movie. The album version does include longer versions, especially with This can’t be over, going from a minute long song to a full length song. Would definitely recommend listening to them on your own time. And here’s hoping we can see more MH Music reactions since the series holds a lot of fun tracks.

Yeah, monster high has 3 gen, gen1 had a bunch of animated movies and a tv show, it’s by far the best version. The second was a kid friendly reboot that had fewer movies, and lots of people hated it because it was just Mattel being a prude and changing everything to please karens, gen3 has a movie and I think a tv show, it’s also disliked because it changed a lot of the story.
It’s okay Matthew, most of the monster high songs are from boo york boo york since it’s the only musical movie from g1, you were bound to listen to most of them in this video ♥️ if you’re going to watch any of the movies boo york is a good place to start but my personal favourite is frights camera action ☺️

Edit: To explain the first song, Duece, the gorgan (snake haired dude), is/ was Cleo's boyfriend. Cleo's sister and father, Nefera and Ramses (the ones in Empire), disapprove of him because he's not up to their standards as royals/high class. Throughout the movie as a subplot they find little ways to humiliate him in front of her and make him think he's not good enough for her, which leads him to being so insecure about their relationship that he ends things, thinking she deserves better.

I grew up on monster high, and I watched almost every single one of the movies from the 2000s like the 3-D animated ones and if you’ve never watch the movies there is always a pun in every single sentence that they say but it’s not a pun as in they were making a joke, It’s a pun that they just say in their normal vocabulary. MONSTER HIGH!!!! I requested monster high stuff to soooo many youtubers and you're the first one I've seen delve into it! I'm so happy, the monster high movies are still some of my favorite movies to rewatch
Ok, so to help explain whats was going on in the fist 2 songs. The fist girl you see is Cleo Denile, the daughter of (The?)Pharaoh, and the guy with snakes as hair is Duce Gorgon the son of Medusa. Duce was manipulated by Cleos father and sister(the ones in the second song) into braking up with herby making him think hes not good enough for her since she's royalty and because she was to mary the prince of Boo York (dont remember his name but in the last song hes also called Pharaoh) so that her older sister and her father will have power over the rest of the world due to their union. Also, the black cat character with the pink hair is the love interest for the Boo york prince guy. I don't want to say anything more otherwise it'll be complete spoiler territory. I love this franchise and i have this movies plot engraved into my heart.
I love MH songs! Boo York was sooooo good!!! Not only bc I love music and it’s mainly the only one with songs in it, but it was so well done! Also most of the characters are voiced by the same after. Someone said in the comments it really only was two people which is insane because they all have such different vibes. The Dad‘s voice was also very surprising. Empire is my favorite followed with sorry it’s over then steal the show, etc. The iconic break up and get back together at the end is amazing, I really wasn’t expecting them to break up bc the show makes them to be together always. Really wish they would do more movies like this I’m not a fan of the reboot. I like the idea of being inclusive, but they should’ve done new characters.

Monster High was a serie of dolls, they were all the kids of the most known monsters (Frankenstein, Dracula, the Werewolf, The Mommy). They made it into a serie of movies and expand the stories of the characters and ad new ones, they eventually get their dolls.
