I love how chill the wolf was despite his failure. Sounds like a great guy to hang out with.😊
As long as your not a dog, that is.
I know, right?Came back here again just to see how chill he handles his failure...So happy for him to be in the television...
i like how he gets tricked into getting blown up by his own dynamite, then literally walks it off and calls the pups smart for doing so
He reminds me of Snoop doggy dog!👌😂👍he’s chill and cool!
Sounds high😅
I appreciate that the wolf never lost his temper and honored his word. That-there’s a good gentlewolf, y’all.
I agree to that, y'all
I love how the wolf wasn't the least bit bothered by his failed attempts to capture the dogs. And he wasn't kidding when he said he was going to be on television after his last attempt failed.
5:52 Howdy, y'all!
True. He just kept trying. These Tex Avery cartoons are a classic.
I'm not even sure if he got blasted into television.
@@booyaahhtime5190 At the very least, he made good on his promise that if that last attempt failed (which it did), he'd go into television.
It makes a lot of sense for the wolf to portray a cowboy in a western. After all, he sounds as a Southerner.
"Ok break it up son the joke is over"
Never gets old
That bit had me rollin lol
TREVOR HARRIS
That part gets me every time, as well as the dog's reaction. 😂
Can you please explain me the joke
WOLF: “Okay! Break it up, son! Joke’s over!”
DOG: “???”
DOG: WHAT THE 🤬😂🤣
Love Daws Butler Also did Charles Schulz know Droopy had a cousin named Snoopy?😉
I'm surprised the dog was still there.
Dog: "What the hell am I still doing here?"
I actually still love using that line now whenever friends carry somethin a little too long
I always laughed at the way the Wolf calmly went away to change his trousers.
I love the ending
4:31 - 4:48 Good dog, man.
"Okay, break it up, son. Joke's over, here?"
And he did it twice 😂
Best part IMHO is that they kept the joke running with him keeping different colored trousers. Lot of cartoons would just switch it back to the original ones after the first joke.
Tex Avery was the ultimate in comedy genius and that wolf is just too cool for school. Meow man!
The wolf is calmest villain that never lost his cool.
Cool
@@nathanielcruz6675 yes😊😊😂😂😂😂
Tex didn't write the short. Nor did he write any of his MGM shorts other then The Peachy Cobbler. Heck Allen wrote this one. But it's to deny Tex's involvement just the same.
Charles Jones I always thought was the best
1:23 now there’s a well built doghouse, man
Him from being sinister to just chilled really caught me off guard the first time
2:28 Man alive! Sure gets dark early this time of year. *BONG!* Hey, y'all! Turn on yer lights, man! *BOOM!* Thank you.
A big hats-off to Daws Butler as the wolf: one of the best of the best.
What is the song he keeps whistling? 😂
@@grazz7865 Kingdom Coming (The Year of Jubilo)
@@Griglager thanks. Love it 😂. He whistles it all throughout the picture 😂😂
Absolutely
Joe Trescari did the whistling
Whistling in defeat got to be the most calming thing 🤣
The wolf was chill as hell.
Guy's more mature than most people these days.
@@Vikingr4Jesus5919, maybe this is his way to suppress exploding anger.
@@viniciusvalois2634 Like a kettle whistling lol
What is the tune the wolf is whistling?
I'm 53 and I still love these cartoons! 😂
I'm 61 and I swear I remember that one from fifty-something years ago! Still great!
“Now don’t ask us how we got the television set back.” LOL
Classic line
I say that out loud all the time, especially when I'm turning my television on
😂😂😂
I love how he bothered to state that since he knew questions were going to be raised
Greatest 4th wall break in cartoon history.
Man, old cartoons takes me back to when I set down and watch it with my grandma.
That is so great! I spent Friday nights watching cartoons with my Pap while mom and grandma went shopping! Very happy times!
Dude, me too. 😊
Good times, good times.

Hey yo , Turn on your lights , Man...
BOOM 💣💥
Thank you 🐺
Tex Avery was a genius.
Yes but he didnt direct this one
@@slowemm Yes, he did.
@@abdullahibouraleh6919 Said Fred Quimby
@@slowemm It wasn't the full credits. And you know Fred Quimby was the producer, not director.
"Now, don't ask us how we got the television set back!" Probably the funniest line ever said in a cartoon. It summed up Hollywood's attitude toward television in the 1950s.
“Meow, man!” 😂
I love that part too
Lol😅😅
Tom cameo!
Maaan 😂😂😂😂
I wish that toy mouse's color was brown, to make the full cameo of Tom and Jerry.
"Hey yaowl! Turn on ya lights, mayun!"
BOOOW!!
"Thank you."
"Mighty poor-grade logs this year.
Green lumber"
I love how calmly that line was delivered.
This line is the best.
I JUST LOVE THE WOLF'S VOICE!🥰😅
even the ending is great
Ur telling me y this week there was a guy on green acres who sound jus as familiar uh I think it was pat Bellamy ?

I love how the dog catcher goes from looking menacing to chill
Yeah so cool
I know Droopy said not to ask how they got the television back. But that's the first thought that popped to my mind when they were still sitting there watching it.
I assume it's similar to how Bullwinkle pulls a rabbit out of his hat.
They probably brought another one
@@tomedy_official Naw, the wolf crapped it out.
Droopy is smart enough to fool most characters and outsmart villains in the end. A true art of genius by Tex Avery. Great respect to a legend like him .
"That's a well built dog house, man!" Got me cracking up a little
These are the kinds of cartoons that gave my generation a good laugh and still does to this day, bring these back
Unfortunately people don't have the skills or the jokes anymore.
I love how the wolf comes to fully respect his adversary.
Good Ole Tex Avery I love his work he's the King of Cartoons
I totally agree...
@@zsoltkiss545 controversial opion I think he's better than Walt Disney
@@kyleshiflet9952 not controversy at all. I cant think of any Walt Disney cartoon that was funny. And I fully agree with you. Tex Averys genius was one of a kind
@@FuShengAlex walt targeted his stuff towards kids but even as a kid Disney never made me laugh but Tex sure did and as I got older he's just gotten funnier he knew how to balance adult and family humor and his MGM work is his best especially his early MGM stuff
@@FuShengAlex You want funny? Check out "Fractured Fairy Tales: Sleeping Beauty." The Prince in that story is actually a caricature of Walt Disney. Jay Ward was pouring it on against Disney, who didn't think it was funny; but it was one of the funniest and most sarcastic cartoons ever made.
3:39 - Best 4th Wall break….
Yes it is
My reply to Droopy was, “Don’t worry! I don’t think I want to know!!’ 😁👍
The wolf's voice funny as hell
He's voiced by Daws Butler the same man who voices Yogi bear and Huckleberry Hound
@@CardinalKid87 and also Spike in Tom and Jerry cartoons too!

The wolf comes back in blackface. lol.. :P
“I’m-a tell you somethin’ right now, man. That there’s a purty smart littl’ ol’ dog in there.”
Sorry for the late reply
And I could never get that damned whistle melody out of my head....
@nkari8971 I've recently seen older cartoons that clearly were, but was this post-explosion effect intended to be? The wolf is covered in gray soot?
I love everything about these cartoons. I love their voices. I love the animation. I love the script. I have loved these cartoons since the early 1960s.
I love them too
Now this is real cartoons!❤❤❤
The Agree 💯 the cartoons nowadays are 💩 I'll take my golden age 90s early 00s cartoons
Man have you got that right; you just can't get stuff like these nowadays. Hilarious stuff -!!

I love how the cat just came to life seeing the toy mouse
Lol.
Also the cat puppet looks very similar to Tom

@@xtrafries123 tom and jerry
Yeah, like it had its own life.
I like the ending when he decided to go on TV if the house fails to blow up. Guess what? It worked out perfectly for the wolf. He looks happy for a change.
On the channel droopy and his brothers watch
He eventually starred in movies, and became a big star. 😁
3:08 A Teletubby before there were Teletubbies!! 😁👍
A wolf turn into a teletubby
These cartoons never get old❤❤❤
Man can anyone believe it's been almost 70 years since this episode aired on t.v.
These were color theatrical release cartoon "films" usually shown between movie features, not airing on TV until the 1960s.
I can. I'm 63.
I was born in 1999, and I used to watch these on Boomerang when I was 7. Those were the days. Timeless children's entertainment.
4:18 is the funniest part. The cat puppet drags the wolf to plow into the dog. Funny as hell.
Is that Butch
5:11 "OK, break it up, son, joke's over. You hear?"
LMFAO
the fact I haven't seen this episode in over 25 years and I still know the whistle 🎯🎯🎯
Then what is that whistle song?
The son is called Kingdom Coming Year of jubilee
That’s a darn good memory you got there, man
This cartoon I just saw the first time and it’s legendary! Made me at 19 smile and giggle like a kid the whole way through I wish cartoons were this simple and amazing today!
The funny thing is that this is the first time I saw this one. Loved it -!
"One. Two. (BOOM!) Three." 🤣
“Four. Five. Six. Seven, eight, nine Ten.”
My favourite joke in this cartoon was Droopy's line of not asking how they got the TV back. That was genius.
Laxatives?
🤣Why would we wanna know?
I miss these times..... These were the BEST of cartoons, and from 30 years before my time!
Yeah, finally the full cartoon. Awesome job sir. I salute you.

that chill as fuck wolf is quickly becoming my spirit animal. we gotta get more cartoons with him. i think i remember more episodes with him from back in the day.
"Billy Boy"
"Sheep Wrecked"
"Blackboard Jumble"
Out of all the villains I ever see, that wolf is the most chill villain I have ever saw
Able to stay cool and calm after all those misfortunes
Even after being blown up by his own missile
He should get a medal for that !
Droopy: now don't ask us how we got the television set back
Meow Man! Good dog Man! Cracked me up back then & still cracks me up to this day🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am pretty sure that the voice of the wolf is Daws Butler (Huckleberry Hound, Quick Draw McGraw, Snagglepuss and Elroy Jetson to name but a few of his better known characters.) A voicing master for certain!
Yes Daws was the wolf
Yea. Him and Mel Blanc were the GOATs.
Daws Butler...A worthy product of his time & can never be replaced 😭.
Meow was the best part... love Droopy. They don't have much on the internet. Somethings money can't buy
I love the logic and physics of old cartoons!
I never get tires Tex Avery's work cause his success on making good shows is definitely better then modern shows.
The initial sneaking feature in the car... hilarious 🤣
I Swear I Looking For This Comment Fr😂🤣
5:11 another hilarious line and the dog’s confused
Daws Butler ... before he worked for Hanna Barbera as Huckleberry Hound!
Hannah as huckleberry wolf
@gabrieljatienza6971 And before he started working for Walter Lantz (who was the first person who gave Daws Butler screen credit for cartoon voicework) after Tex Avery brought him over from MGM.
"Now don't ask us how we got the television set back." On the contrary, I was wondering how they got it back.
So would l.🤔
It was gruesome and unclean trust me you don't really want to know.
@Dakota Call Could be.
He pooped or vomited
@@BrowncoatGofAZ not the point, how do you get a television set a guy you're trying to get away from
Man, that wolf cracks me up every time 😂😂.
“8 ball in the hip pocket (ding)” gets me every time😂😂
Man! Those were the best toons of the time! Overkill done to a hilarious turn!
I ADORE this antagonist sooo much!! Such a chill attitude whenever he fails. And he's IMMEDIATELY accepting and cool with his pain and failures too and literally just whistles it off in a calm manner! And he's not afraid to throw in a funny remark here and there even after he felt all that suffering lmaooo
5:48 and so the wolf quit being a dog catcher and left to be a cowboy in television
He made that clear from the start that if his last attempt failed to blow up Droopy's house, he'll go inside the television.
Funny
What is the name of the film they watch?
@@legiang25 not sure. Must be an old western classic or something

'Ok break it up son. Joke's over hear? " Lol........love this guy.
Man those times! Loved Snoopy and Droopy in Tow and Jerry Kid's show
Can we appreciate how Snoopy and Loopy are depicted as stupid, but are actually smart enough to rely on Droopy to handle the wolf, and even assist him at times? They didn't even fall for the cat puppet! They just watch as Droopy winds up the toy mouse and set it loose!
Droopy: "Now dont ask us how we got the television set back"
Dogcatcher: shits it out
Meow! Meow! Meow man! So funny! 😆😆
Shucks, I thought he had become one of the Teletubbies.
That's probably what happened.
Hollywood had an extremely low opinion of television in those days.
@@davidlafleche1142 It kind of happens with a lot of the entertainment industry especially back then. The Old guard (the movie industry) searing at the new upstarts (TV) and becoming aggressively resentful of them due to their upcoming success and "taking their racket" figuratively speaking. Arguably, this is still going on with the current conflict between Hollywood and cable television and internet especially with streaming.
He must be my favorite villain wolf ever. Too cool and funny!
And that dog house started as a dog house and ended up being a mansion.
I watched this on 📺 after school many times, worth it.
Word is...Wolfie is still successful on 📺 to this day😏.
Plot twist: Droopy's doghouse was made out of bedrock
The world need this style of funny cartoons back for our youth
Yes!
I've always love old school cartoons 😁❤❤😁❤😁😁❤😁❤❤😁😁❤
A mi también!!, fueron los mejores!!!!!😂😂😂, saludos!!!
That wolf is hilarious!!
Absolute classic. Had me chuckling away. They dont make them as funny as this nowadays!
City Dog Catcher and he doesn't take in the bulldog, that bites him. Only says, "Break it up son; joke's over."
It's the principal of the thing.
To be fair, he provoked a dog (albeit accidentally) that he wasn't after. I'm guessing he figured that he deserved that.
He even pats him and says "Good dog, man." after changing his pants from that bite.
The wolf is so relaxed and unbothered despite his numerous attempts to capture the dogs backfiring against him.
Droopy is one clever dog, outsmarting and staying one step ahead.
Tex Avery always has good idea
Heck Allen wrote this short by the way. Other than The Peachy Clobber Tex never wrote in any of his MGM shorts.
@@stephenholloway6893 Tex also wrote 2 of the 4 cartoons he made for Walter Lantz in the 1950's, "Crazy Mixed Up Pup" and "Sh-h-h-h-h-h".
They need to show this and a bunch of other Tex Avery cartoons in theaters again - that would be amazing.
I'm quite sure it would be a sold out show 😊
The wolf is a Southerner. The tune he is whistling is from The Civil War.
Signifying him as the bad guy?
Always loved those cartoons
Now that’s a well built dog house man!
3:30 Droopy: 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
The fact that he goes ballistic when he can't blow the brick house down. 🤣
No matter what still love tht little guy great fans here in Columbia SC
Honestly the wolf dude is definitely my type of man. I just love how chill and charming he his, not to mention hilarious too. Even while he's trying too obliterate Mr.Droopy. And he doesn't even get pissed when his plans fail. He just seems like the type of person who would be easy to have a nice conversation with. He's definitely a lot different than most cartoon wolf characters from this era. The VA did such an amazing job too. He has such a soothing southern voice that just melts my heart. Honestly his voice would've been a perfect voice for a character like Huckleberry Finn or Tom Sawyer. 🐺💞 P.S. Props to the awesome animators too. 🎨🖌️
🤣🤣 i love the Tex Avery cartoons. They are too hilarious!😁👍
This type cartoon was what I was raised on. Its more than funny! I love how SNEAK went to tipping between posts
That wolf is easily one of my favorite characters of the Golden Age. I love how in any cartoons he appears in, the only time he ever looks genuinely evil is about his first-ever minute onscreen... and then from that point on he's just some super chill Appalachian dude
Wolf sounds like Terrance Howard
