Foghorn was always my favourite. His elaborate traps, clever one-liners. The south accent, and repeating his words added even more humour to the character.
I always loved that Foghorn had painted a line in a semicircle marked "Rope Limit" so he knew exactly how far he had to run after pranking the dog. And the dog would get so upset that, even though he knew that Foghorn knew the rope limit, the dog ran after him anyways.
Yeah. That dog wasn't too right. Tom tried that trick on Spike, but he figured it our right-away by erasing the line and moving it closer to his dog house. Then he jumped on Tom. I wonder if that was a subtle-jab by Hanna Barbera at Warner Bros for that gag. :0)
"That boy--I say, that boy's busier than a centipede at a toe-countin' contest." "Sweet gal, but she's as sharp as a sack of wet mice." "You look like three miles of bad road!" The metaphors with this character are the best.
My mother used to say the “Aaaah…Shaddap” to us for a while after watching this. She was on my silly wavelength 😂😂. She used to laugh and join in the silly fun when I called my Jack Russell terrier, Sam “Yah Stoopid Horse!” After Yosemite Sam. He was a great wee pooch and loved to make us laugh. The greatest buzz for me back then was making my mother laugh.
Foghorn's upbeat personality and the elaborate nature of the traps are what make these cartoons so delightful. The boxing glove in the camera is a beauty.
The last clip is absolute perfection. He just can't shut up. Even the circle is closing in around his neck, the cartoon equivalent of getting the cane around the neck and he's trying to hold it open so he can keep talking. Beautiful.

The inspiration for Foghorn Leghorn was from Fred Allen's radio show in 1945, "Allen's Alley," co-starring an actor named Kenny Delmar (1910-1984), who played a loudmouth Southern Senator, Beauregard Claghorn . He also served as the regular announcer on that hugely popular radio show. He was famous for creating the phrase, "That's a joke, son" which was incorporated directly into Foghorn Leghorn's vocabulary. He was so Southern oriented, he only drank from Dixie cups. [get, it, Dixie--a synonym for the South], and refused to drive through the Lincoln tunnel. The windbag character, he said, was inspired by a Texas cattle rancher who had picked him up while he was hitchhiking and barely stopped talking.

To think my Dad and I use to cuddle on the couch whenever Looney Tunes were on, and by the age of 5, we both were able to recite the lines verbatim together. He being born in 1946 and me in 1972, somewhere by 1979, we knew every line, every story, every grift...too bad children don't have this today.
I think the problem is with the kind of content that parents expose their kids into. You see, there was this time were cartoons were respected and not treated as kid stuff and... You know, something that a father/mother can actually enjoy with its child. But now, they just don't seem to give ANY sort of attention to their kids, so they just turn YT Kids on and be like "Nah, who cares if what I'm showing to my son is dog$#!t?! As long as he doesn't annoy me for a for a few hours, everything is ok" and now we're at this point in time where kids find Skibidi Toilet *sO cOoL* and their parents don't even know what the h£ll that is.

I thought Lola didn't want to be "Babe." Not sure. Yosemite Sam: YA RACKIN' FRACKIN' VARMINT!! Marven the Martian: You make me very Angry! *huff, huff, huff* Very Angry Indeed!!

Wonderful cartoons, and the best line saved for the end,"fortunately I keep my Feathers Numbered for just such an Emergency".
Feathers that is,
Daffy Ducks Fantasy Island. Has the all.
The good old Cartoons will always be great.
4:22 the best "AHH SHADDUP!" moment ever.

I think this would be much better 4:20
I love these old cartoons. I grew up on these and still crack up watching them. Thanks for putting this together. Great job!
Fortunately, Foghorn Leghorn keeps his feathers numbered for just such an emergency that is what he said here! (6:42)
Well I cannot argue about that though. LOL, anyway.
"LETS BURY THE HATCHET BUT NOT IN ANYONE'S HEAD, BOY!" Golden line.
"HATCHET HEAD, THATS A JOKE BOY YOU MISSED IT!🤜🏻"
"WENT RIGHT PAST YA'! YOU GOTTA KEEP, I SAY YOU GOTTA KEEP ON YOUR TOES, BOY! TOES, THAT IS! THE FAST ONES GET RIGHT BY YA'!"

DeathShouldTakeMeNow Didn't Foggy have anything else better to do besides spanking him on his tail? That was too stupid and predictible. I always loved it whenever he took baby chick prodigy Egghead Jr. under his wing (pun intended, LOL) and tried to act as surrogate father to him LMAO XD

Mel Blanc based his voice characterization on an old radio character, Senator Claghorn, voiced by Kenny Delmar on Fred Allen's shows of the 1930's and 40's.
😎
"you are not a chicken, you are a loud mouthed schnook" 😂😂😂
I agree. Foghorn needs to stop proving and accept that he is a loud mouth schnook.

I loved it when the grandsons of Foghorn and the Dog inherited the "Ahhh, Shaddap!" moment.
Love Old Foggy, he was one of the best. So called cartoons nowadays are junk! Thanks for putting this on!
Exactly which cartoons are garbage now?
I love it that Fog got his ass handed to him on more than one occasion...
Nothing, I SAY, NOTHING beats Looney Tunes and Foghorn Leghorn!!!

Normally, I’d say “You can say that again..”, but you just did. Hahaha
The Warner Brothers cartoon characters were THE Best, . most are over 60 yrs ago yet timeless.. I think the SHUTUP moment is something everyone can relate to, what we'd secretly like to say to a boss, co-worker, sibling, stranger, even a spouse at times. hahaha...doo-dah, doo-dah
Oh adoda dey
