Little budget? Please look at the army of animators, background, and foreground artists, color graders that were used to crank out this stuff in the credits. Even today, with computer assistance, much of the grunt work is farmed out to South Korean studios for finishing and retouching.

None of the Warner cartoons were 'farmed out' overseas, and the budget for the animation studio (Termite Terrace, as the animators called it) was indeed small, since the cartoons were just an add-on to feature films, and didn't generate profits themselves. What you're describing came into play more in the 80's and onward. Now, it's common to see 50 colorists and 75 background artists, etc., because what was once seen as a throw away has become a very lucrative market...

I can't remember the last time I heard the Looney Tunes theme music. That really brings back some golden memories of sitting down with my three brothers and dad _(RIP) (And sometimes my mum (RIP).),_ to watch their cartoons back in the 60's and 70's.

This is actually Henery Hawk’s second short. He first showed up in a Chuck Jones short “The Squawkin’ Hawk” in 1942. Amusingly enough, Henery was supposed to be the main character of this short, but a certain loud mouthed Southern rooster appearing for the very first time stole the show. Also, that fight with the horse gets me every time.
In fact Chuck only used Henery twice more after this short both featuring Daffy counting the cameo in The Scarlet Pumpernickel which was his last short that Chuck used him. You Were Never Duckier was his only other staring role from Chuck Jones. Otherwise Robert McKimson used the exclusively with Foghorn til Henery was retired in 1961.
Yeah first Foghorn whooping the dog's ass with a wooden paddle, then running away until the dog is stopped by his lease and then Foghorn smacking him saying "Ahhhhhhhhh shut up!"🤣

I love these old cartoons from my childhood. Saturday mornings, grab a bowl of cereal and sit in front of the tv watching the Bugs Bunny Road Runner show. You knew cartoons were over when American Bandstand came on.

I watched and saw every Looney tunes.. Every Saturday morning when I was a kid I'd be up at the crack of dawn watching these cartoons I'm in my 50s now and still love them and watch them if i come across them on tv...no cartoons today compare to Looney tunes...even though they seem kinda violent today when I watch but hey my generation turned out just fine lol😂

Senator Claghorn was a character on Fred Allen’s radio show, played by Kenny Delmar. Claghorn was very popular, so he was a ripe target for Looney Tunes.
5:01 I never understood what was happening in this scene until now. I realized in the last shot Henery was holding a piano and a frying pan. So I guess he played the piano to lure the dog over to him and hit him with the frying pan. I didn’t realize this til now because I didn’t see what Henery was carrying before and I didn’t realize the piano music was diagetic. I thought the dog just started dancing for no reason.
Classics are still the best! Been a loooooooong time since I've seen Henery Hawk. First time was at the drive-in. Thanx muchly for sharing, and for the nostalgia trip.

The 60s were a dark time for animation. Studios didn't want to put money into it. In fact, if you were trying to get a contract to produce an animated series, you basically had to prove you could do it cheaper than the next guy.
@@CelestialJudge That's because people used to make these shorts to go in theaters in front of a movie, but by the time of the 60s, you had to make them for TV (theaters stopped showing short cartoons in front of movies), which required a tight budget, especially after Hannah Barbara mastered the art of limited animation to make 22 minute cartoons cheaper than the 7 minute shorts of Looney Tunes and such from back in the day.
Nothing compares to the classic cartoons ftom Warner Brothers, Merrie Melodies, and Looney Toons...., My personal favourite...The Three Little Bops!!😁👍👍
